I haven't been to the dentist for a long time (I didn't know my UCLA insurance covered dental care - what a shame!). I was definitely a little hesitant about finding the right dentist - after all, some dentists can easily overcharge their clients. Since this year I had health insurance through work, I decided to do some research and found this office through yelp. I called to make an appointment and they were welcoming and asked for my insurance information. They figured out all the charges with insurance before my visit. Thank goodness for that! Doctor Joy was really nice and her assistant helped explain all the procedures to me in details. I had a deep cleaning and some fillings for my gum (all of which went well). They even gave me tips for the best way to brush my teeth, floss, etc. I guess I learned the "correct" methods to keep up with my dental hygiene through them. Better late than never. The second time I came here, I got 3 wisdom teeth taken out. Didn't hurt much and the healing process for me was fast. I got my stitches out within a week and even had solid food after a few days! I would highly recommend this place to anyone (even if you don't have insurance). It is worth your time and money. read more

I don't like dentists. In fact, I hate them. And it's sad because they don't do anything wrong. They honestly want to make you feel as good as possible, but they catch a bad wrap, because they take tools and go in your mouth and cut things open and pull things out and there's blood and everything looks like a Tim Burton comedy from the time you arrive until you are sitting in the recovery room drunk on whatever meds you were thrown on. So when you come across a team as gentle, sweet, kind, and funny as A Plus Dental, it's literally like eating an imported dessert and then chipping your tooth on hidden diamonds inside of the chocolatey goodness. What a fantastic place :) Dr. Joy is the sweetest dentist I've ever met, and Brenda couldn't be nicer. Both are always smiling, and Brenda gave the news to me straight. Now this review is for the exam only. My actual surgery is on Monday, and I will be having two teeth extracted and getting a deep cleaning (you know...the ones were they go UNDER your gums? Yeah, that's about as pleasant as it sounds...), so I will report back with an update afterwards on how that part of the process goes. But for now, this is the best dental office I've ever been in :) I would literally cook dinner for Dr. Joy and Brenda. Would you cook dinner for your current dentist? I didn't think so. I definitely recommend this dental office to everyone. I've been looking for a place open on Saturdays since I work during the week and it's difficult to take time off for dental visits. Fortunately, A+ Dental is open every other Saturday. The staff is very kind, polite, and helpful. Ask for Floor Supervisor James Moon, and he'll make sure you are taken care of. My insurance covered everything, but their prices are also really good even for those who don't have insurance. The doctor was great too. She did my cleaning and filling. It was smooth and painless. Last thing I want to mention is that they are completely honest and I trust them. Go check them out! They have special deals on Facebook too so you can find them and "Like" them to see their deals. Found A plus Dental through Yelp and by goodness did Yelp provide. Located in a plaza with provided parking. Yes... FREE parking. Great staff, reasonable prices and GREAT Dentist. Dr. Joy is an expert in her field and every cavity filled, wisdom teeth removed and crown placed was done PERFECTLY and with NO PAIN. Sweetest person ever as well! She really cares about how you're doing when she's working on your grills so that's always a nice bonus. The staff is super friendly and awesome to be around so be nice to them! Dr. Joy filled in two cavities and an onlay for a rotten molar and it didn't hurt at all! Since then I have no problem chewing my food and now I'm a happy camper. The office is clean and neat with plenty of magazines and friendly staff. My kids also come here and they love her to death and that NEVER happens with any doctor or dentist before. I had been coming to A+ Dental since I was very young. When I moved out of Los Angeles, it was very difficult to find the type of dentist I really liked. I came back a month ago, new staff and new doctor, Dr. Joy. Dr. Joy is extremely sweet and her main staff, James, Roberto, and the Office Manager are very friendly. When it comes to dental surgery, Dr. Joy is an expert. I have had two wisdom teeth taken out, with little in-surgery pain and litte after-pain & swelling. I recently had a bad tooth ache because my wisdom tooth was scrapping into my jaw every time I opened my mouth. My dentist was unable to schedule appointments, but luckily this place was! The experience was great! Parking is free and the wait to be seen was not long. I was able to schedule an appointment right away and walked in. As soon as I signed some forms, they assessed my situation and talked about prices (which by the way are very affordable without insurance). Ten to fifteen minutes later, my wisdom tooth is out and the pain was tolerable. The only thing I did not like was that the stitches were non-soluble. It was achy and irritating my gums even after salt water rinses. However, once they were pulled out after a week, everything was fine! If you don't have insurance, this place is very reasonable and do not treat you like 3rd class citizens (trust me, some offices either want to rip you off or look down on you when you don't have insurance). Very reasonable out-of-pocket prices & awesome staff. After reading the reviews, I made an appointment and was able to get my procedure done all in the same day - literally during my lunch break. I had gotten my wisdom teeth pulled before by a family friend who unfortunately moved his practice to Seattle. Having gone through the painful yet bearable experience, I almost dreaded my visit. However the extraction felt like it took less than a minute and there was no pain whatsoever. Also, they cover your face with this cloth so only the mouth is exposed. I don't know about you but I'd rather not watch myself get surgery in the mouth.. plus it just feels more gruesome when you know what kind of tools are being used. Anyways, I was seriously impressed and already blabbered to my co-workers to come here. I'll definitely be sending everyone else here as well! read more

I highly recommend Dr. Joy. She and her staff treat you well, tell it to you straight, and will even call to check up that you're keeping up with your dental hygiene. They also have a program to provide a free checkup to uninsured people, if they need care. Dr Joy is very knowledgeable and doesn't try to up sell you just to make a quick buck. I paid out of pocket bc i don't have insurance and they are extremely affordable! They use a needle to numb you instead of the gas which i prefer and i had two wisdom teeth removed pain free! And she's open on Sunday which helps if you are in pain or work and can't get in on weekdays! The staff is super sweet and so is Dr.Joy you can tell they want you to be as comfortable as possible! It's a Korean office but the staff is multicultural so if you are not Korean you can still go:) all in all I'm def coming to dr joy for all of my mouth needs from now on! read more

My visit to A+ dental has been the best dentist appointment I've ever had! Really everyone is so nice and patient. They have updated technology that makes even a dental appointment fun. Even better than that is that they take their time to explain what they have found after your Xrays, while they show you pictures of your teeth. They also take their time to clearly explain what your insurance will cover. Their work is awesome they are patient and very careful. I've usually had dentists that even when trying to be careful will be pushy and invasive but this was nothing like that. To top it off it really seems like they know their patients. My friend referred me and when I told them my friend's name they definitely knew who I was talking about. UCLA students your dental insurance is accepted here! Normally, I wouldn't write a review for a dental office because no one really likes to visit the dentist. HOWEVER, this review is completely necessary for A Plus Dental! I went in on a Saturday morning for a dental exam and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The office is very clean and all of their equipment appears to be up to date and very technologically advanced. Dr. Joy was gentle and explained everything to me in terms that were understandable. I hate it when you go to the dentist and they explain everything in their confusing medical terms and you leave the office in complete and utter confusion. Anyway, the dentist did not do that here. The office is located on the 2nd floor of a "L" shaped strip mall, but this book should not be judged by it's cover. The staff here are great, from the front desk to the doctor. they were reasonably flexible with paying my bill in payments, and also work with dental credit companies as well. I went in for a root canal , which most offices have to outsource, but the doctor here is an oral surgeon as well as a family dentist. they did it all in-house. read more

I came to this office 1 year ago and had a crown placed on my front tooth due to it being broken, exactly 1 year later the crown fell out and vanished. I came back to this office under the impression they would fix or at least offer a decent discount. They didn't, and tried to up charge me. From my research crowns last 10+ years, mine lasted a year, and I was conscious about food I ate and took good care of it. One of my over 20 years ago filling had fallen out, so I found A plus after seeing reviews from yelp. They open late(8pm) on Mon and Tue, so I could go visit after work. I was the last patient of the day, but no one rushed me to finish the jobs. I had to full mouth xray exam and James and Dr. Joy explained well enough(no medical jargon) for me understanding what's my dental problems. Moreover, Dr. Joy diagnosed very correctly of my problems which I was aware of over years. Some dentists pushed other services increased sales, on the other hands some dentists were afraid to even recommend what I need to prevent further problems. A Plus was very honest and superior customer experiences on the top of professional and great payment coordination. I was1000% satisfied when I walked out of office, and highly recommend to friends and others even strangers. By the way, I had to pull out my troubled wisdom tooth along with filling replacement with one visit, and didn't much of pain few hours later as Dr. Joy and James told me. There are so many dentists in every blocks, but honest, great customer care, convience and excellent budget dentist is A Plus Dental for sure. read more

This place is great!! I had a severe tooth pain coming from my wisdom tooth that started on Friday night, my dentist was closed for the weekend and I couldn't find anyone open over the weekend. However, my pain was so unbearable that on Sunday morning I was looking the web and found this place to be open on Sunday. I called and they made me an appointment for the same day. The office was clean and very nice, the dentist was a nice lady, and everyone else in the office was very friendly and professional. I would strongly recommend this place to all of my friends. I don't have dental insurance and the price for wisdom removal was really reasonable in addition to that the prescription that I got for antibiotic and pain pills was with a discount code so when I went to the pharmacy I told them to look for that code and I got the medications for a really good price. This dentist is awesome!! Probably the best! I had gone to a different general dentist a week prior, who recommended wisdom tooth removal and referred me out to an oral surgeon. So, first, I went to an oral surgeon a few days before going here, just for a consult and the quote they gave me was just ridiculous (I don't have dental insurance). I decided to get a second consult in hopes of finding better/reasonable pricing and the people that are working here, were just plain and simple, honest. They didn't try to sell me on what I didn't need, as the oral surgeon had tried to do. The oral surgeon had told me that I would need general anesthesia (to be put to sleep) because it would be a very painful removal. One of my wisdom teeth was partially impacted, (meaning they needed to cut the gum). They didn't put me to sleep here and used local anesthesia, which I was quite nervous about but, I assure you, I didn't feel a thing. They were very careful and did not rush at all! They were very attentive and constantly asked if I was okay or felt any pain (which I didn't). They were also very informative on the after care... and even allowed me to come in for a last minute check up, just because I was paranoid about the healing process!! So nice of them!... OH, and they called me the next day to make sure I was feeling alright! Everything is healing, quite nicely, and I will continue to go here in the future! read more

Before i came to this denist i have gone to at least 5 dentists and the last one before this was the worst of worst but this place they just removed my two wisdom tooth less than an hour. Very professional and friendly and imformative. Unlike other thr last dentist i went which told i needed sleep anasthesia this dentist didnt and was very honest with me and it was very clean and comfortable atmosphere.
