Avoid at all costs. Shoddy workmanship, poor communication and corner cutting is what you can expect.
A-Plus is a small company led by Roman Pazowski. The two workers he sent each day to our house were rude and barely spoke English. When they decided they were done for the day, they would just leave and not say when they were coming back. At least one of the workers smoked non stop and we're still finding cigarette butts left on our property. One of the items they worked on were some windows. Just being in the right place at the right time, we found out they skipped proper flashing which would have been hidden from sight once the trim was installed. A number of windows were not plumb and level - and we're talking a full bubble out of level! Another item they worked on was a sewer line replacement. They rented the wrong machine (height fitting under our carport), so they opted to introduce two additional 90's in the line and an additional cleanout instead of doing it the right way (keeping the replacement line in the same place as the original as was discussed during the quote. Two out of the three cleanouts they installed are too high and also not level/plumb. Upon backfilling the 4'+ deep trench, they did not compact as they filled, or use water to assist in the compacting. They only used a powered compactor after the trench was completely filled in - so after one rainfall our car nearly fell into one of the caved-in sections of our driveway. They attempted to compact the areas again even resorting to driving their van over the trench, but within a week those sections were significantly lower than the undisturbed areas. They also changed the grading towards our property line which if left that way would have sent water to our neighbor's foundation.
When questioned on fixing these problems we were met with excuses and attitude by Roman. He has a temper! Any attempts to resolve these problems, it was half hearted and done as if he was doing us a favor.
Unfortunately due to the nature of the contract and the type of loan we secured, we had no recourse in pursuing legal action against them. Not to mention the fact that we legitimately feared he would retaliate either by vandalism, or personal harm. That's the kind of person Roman is.
We thought we'd save time and money by having a professional do the work, but now we're either fixing these problems ourselves or hiring someone else to do the work.
