I called Steven Chavez who works for his wife A Plus Appliance several times and texted him. We had a scheduled appointment as a follow up to recheck the dryer. After he fixed it is still not working properly. He never bothered to call or show up to the scheduled appointment. He originally worked on my dryer and did not complete the work properly. This business is poorly run he has overcharged me for incomplete work. Do not use this business he does not stand behind his work. A Plus Appliance thumbs down! Steven Chavez took my money, didn't repair my appliances and then blocked my calls. He is the most dishonest repair man I've ever met. A Plus Appliance is not affiliated with the Better Business Bureau and I'm not sure he is even licensed. If you pay with Venmo, take the business insurance. Steven has to pay the small additional fee but at least you can get your money back when your appliance isn't fixed and you need to call someone else for the repair. Steven is a very nice and honest person. I went back and forth with 3 other appliance repair businesses and asked them to give me a rough estimate and they all said they dont give estimates over the phone. I told them I pretty much knew what the issue was and they still said they would have to come out before the could give me a rough estimate. When I communicated with Steven and told him what I was pretty sure what the issue was, he sent me back a price for coils and the other prices should it need those fixes and then a price for a complete service. Steven is honest, trustworthy, and dedicated to fixing the problem. My husband and I have a general construction company but have no subs to handle repairs of appliances. But we know when people try to BS us and Steven does not play that game. Some of the other "local" (they say) appliance repair companies are from out of the area and are looking for easy pickings. Don't ever pay over the phone, in advance, with a credit card, to schedule a repair call. It's a scam. But also don't try to get the cheapest quote from 5 different companies and expect quality, just saying. We agreed for Steven to find a used repair part for our refrigerator that was crapping out (only because it was faster and our food was going bad) - but he found a new one and didn't charge a ton extra for it when he could have. I appreciate that! With my husband being a general contractor, we try to support local skilled workers and that is what Steven is. Beside repairing my dishwasher; Steven installed a new water filter under kitchen sink and repaired my pilot which would not stay lit on my Hot Water tank. I can't say enough good things about Steven. He explains everything, is honest, caring, organized, thorough, fair with pricing, does not hide any costs, returns calls or answers himself immediately, knowledgeable with most everything and for what product he is not familiar, he deciphers, understands perseveres and follows directions easily. Beware of this business. Very shady! Sold me a defective refrigerator from a third party, passed off as new but icemaker broken, dents and nicks on fridge. Mine was broken in the middle of Covid-19 and one month delays from legitimate stores. He gave me a bogus warranty as he refuses to take care of the refrigerator. He would not haul my old refrigerator away. Had to pay someone else to do it. Complained about having to install the refrigerator, then was asking me for rubberbands! Left in the middle of install to meet someone at Del Taco. Came back not wearing a mask in the middle of Covid-19 with the hose for the icemaker, then charged me $15 for the hose he should have already had. Do not use this business.
