The second of third Portsmouth book stops for Indie Bookstore Day. This is a spot you could easily…read moreget lost in spending hours searching for that hidden gem/special book. Many older books in really nice condition. In what appears to be a house converted into a literary haven for book lovers, it's a spot that could easily be missed if you aren't directly searching for it! Despite having many older and used books they did honestly have a good selection of newer and popular books too! Compared to many other spots of similar nature I really appreciated the fact they had some newer and popular books in contrast to used books. It's a great way to bring in both those who want the popular and new and those looking to search through the shelves for that hidden gem! Prices seemed reasonable and while we did not interact with the owner nothing negative to say. A spot worth checking out if you find yourself in Portsmouth. One of a few Indie Bookstores you can support here in town!

Hands-down, the best place on the Seacoast to get lost in books, especially if you don't know what…read moreyou're in the mood for. In fact, this shop seems specifically geared for those who want something unique & special, but don't have any specific title in mind. Serendipity has taken up permanent residence here. Every time I walk in, I end up finding a gem I didn't know I needed. Sometimes it's a little worse for wear, sometimes it's as clean & bright as a new penny. Sometimes, still, it contains a treasure from a previous owner -- a postcard, a small note, or a personal inscription. My explorer's soul never seems to go hungry here. Highly recommended.

Huge store with all types of used and new books. I only had time to look in the children's section…read morewhich was huge and decently organized by categories such as (sensory/cause and effect, holidays, popular authors, language, potty training, family). You could spend a good chunk of time browsing through the bins and shelves. It is great that they have a train table in the kids area so they kids can play while you browse the books. I was searching for Lunar New Year books, but couldn't find any. They had a bin for the big holidays like Christmas, Halloween, Easter and a general holiday bin for smaller holidays. The employees were nice and can system search by author/title, but they couldn't do a search by general topic/genre.

The Used Book Superstore in Burlington is my personal money pit -- and honestly, I'm fine with it…read more I've never managed to leave with fewer than ten books, and at this point, I don't even pretend I will. The selection feels endless. Every genre, every niche, and then, just when you think you've seen it all, there's a wall of Blu-rays, DVDs, video games, board games, and random bits of memorabilia you didn't know you wanted until they're already in your basket. The prices are almost insulting to other stores. Seriously, I've paid more for a cup of coffee than I have for some of the books here. You'd almost feel guilty... except you don't, because you're too busy carrying out a stack taller than your torso. The staff is excellent -- actually helpful, not the fake "let me know if you need anything" kind. They've tracked down what I came in looking for, and then somehow convinced me to walk out with three more titles I didn't even know existed. My shelves at home are groaning under the weight of their recommendations, but sure, suggest me another series. Why not. I've been a regular for about a year now, and as long as I live in Massachusetts, this will be one of the few places I actually look forward to throwing money at. You never know what you'll find here, which is exactly why I keep coming back.
