Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital - A big thank you to Dr. Spetko and Casey for taking such great care of Senna during his follow up physical exam!

Paws Down, the Best Vet Visit Ever - 10/10!…read more I booked my appointment right through the PetDesk app--a total treat! I also gave them a quick call to confirm the appointment and emailed over my pup Senna's vaccine records since we were new to the pack. Jenny is very kind and patient. Grateful for her. If all vet hospitals had a Jenny the world would be a better place. From the moment we walked through the door, the team welcomed us with wagging tails and warm smiles. We didn't even have to sit and stay long--Casey led us into a cozy exam room within minutes. We got him up on the scale to weigh in. It was a wellness visit, and we were hoping to get his nails trimmed, update his vaccines, and talk about the how to deal with ticks since we just moved states. Then we met Dr. Won--and she was fantastic! Senna was feeling a little ruff about the vaccines, but she gave him time to catch his breath between shots. She even suggested some chill-out meds for future visits so he wouldn't get too stressed--especially for pedicures. Thank you for the invaluable knowledge about ticks, helping me choose the right medication, and taking extra time with us. Appreciate you. The exam room was squeaky clean, and I was totally impressed by the adjustable exam table that doubled as a scale. It glided up and down like magic, making it super easy for the vet and techs to work with my pup without lifting or fussing. Also: shoutout for having a small muzzle that fit Senna's petite snoot. That's not easy to come by, and it made a big diff-fur-ence. We've seen a few vets since he was born, but this was by far the ulti-mutt experience. The whole staff--from the front desk to the exam room--treated Senna like their own. The way they cuddled him made my heart do zoomies. You can tell this crew really loves their furry clients and their jobs. I also loved the staff wall featuring photos of their own fur-babies--totally adorable and comforting. It just made the whole place feel like a second home for pet parents. (See my attached pics for the awww factor.) Follow-up calls? On time. Every time. Phone manners? Impeccable. In person service? Flawless. Thank you to Dr. Won, Jenny, Casey, Megan. Seriously, if you helped us that day and I forgot to mention your name here, know I'm fur-ever grateful. And thank you. Other things worth mentioning: You can order meds directly through them--either pick-up or delivery. They close early on Wednesdays and Saturdays. See attached photo of schedule. There's parking in the back of building (about 10 spots) and an emergency-style pull-through out front. Need a potty patch? There's grass out front for your pup to do their biz before or after. The building's exterior is well-kept and inviting. And there's a cool axolotl in the fish tank in the waiting room. So awesome. It looks lonely though. I wish it had a friend. If you're in the Shirley area and looking for a vet who will treat your pet like family, Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital is the place to be.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a dog trainer, and I managed a training and daycare…read morefacility for six years. I asked every question under the sun at my dog's evaluation, and every answer was the one I was looking for. Additionally, my dog is not an 'easy' dog, he can be standoffish with strangers, but every staff member knew how to approach him without my having to comment, and he settled in really well. I appreciate especially their honesty when I asked if Arlo played with any other dogs - instead of lying to me and saying "of course!" without thinking, they explained to me that he needs to get used to a new environment and that "the play will come." That answer was stellar, and I feel comfortable knowing that staff will give me uncomfortable truths when they are needed rather than sugar coating their answers for a sale. I know my dog well, and their description of his behavior today was on point, I know for a fact that staff was watching him carefully and that makes me happy. I am glad to have a place to bring him now that I no longer work in the industry, it's a huge weight off of my shoulders. As to the reviews stating that the place smells - I have twice walked in during what seemed like rush hour and smelled nothing other than typical 'dog' smell, so I'm not sure what all that is about.

I have enjoyed this kennel. I left my dog here in July of 2015. For two years before I was leaving…read morehim at Quail Run Kennels. Each time I left him there he came home skinny, with a rash on his stomach, no one paid attention to him and on top of that, they always, somehow, charged us an extra day getting more money out of us. At Bed and Biscuit however, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to tour the place before I left my Austin there. I saw where he would play in the yard and get some exercise, where they watch TV with the dogs and where he would be staying. It was a home away from home. Austin came home, for the first time since I've been boarding him, happy, healthy, a small rash on his stomach from laying on the concrete probably (not as bad as Quail run since they offer very little shade for the dogs and ALL of their kennels are outside in the elements). At Bed and Biscuit the place is air conditioned and heated for perfect climate control. Each dog has a place to go outside through a doggy door and is able to escape the heat by coming inside in the air condition (or escape the cold and come into the heat). Bed and Biscuit cares about the animals. They are never boarded together (unless they are from the same household), they're on the expensive side from other kennels in the area. But it's WORTH it. 100% WORTH IT! I wouldn't board my baby anywhere else! He was content there. I will be using Bed and Biscuit for all my boarding needs. Austin enjoyed his time there.
