A solid option for samosa on the west end of the GTA. I came here for the first time in October 2025 after I watched their feature on the CBC show, Locals Welcome. They had a great selection in terms of their Samosa and the staff are friendly and helpful. It gets pretty busy here, and since most items are made to order, I would definitely factor in extra time to wait for your food. The prices are also reasonable and I liked the fact that samosa can be bought frozen in any quantity. I appreciated the fact that the samosas are made to order, so that really helps ensure the food is at its freshiest. Overall it is a good option if you're in the area. read more

I went here to pick up samosas for workplace as it was a bulk order. Samosas were delivered piping hot and crispy, tea was fantastic. We requested them to pack 5 samosas in 16 bags each and in turn they told us it is going to cost $2 extra per bag which was absurd so we just took them all in one box. Otherwise the service was okayish not too slow nor fast. Will be back here to try other foods. read more

THE BEST SAMOSAS I've had to date. It was absolutely FILLED with a great ratio of potatoes, peas, and spices. You can SEE all seasonings like the cumin seeds & chilli too...that's how you know they use plentiful quality ingredients! A 40 minute wait in the rain (with only 5 customers ahead of us) was the first letdown. But with large vegetarian samosas at $0.85 a piece, I figured the wait was worth it. They were served hot and with a dipping sauce. However, after biting into the first of 12, I hit the second letdown. The batter wasn't crispy except at the very edges. The feeling was 99% potato with a couple of wrinkled, dry peas. It was also way too spicy without any actual flavour. The dipping sauce looked hot but it was actually more of an oniony savory sauce. it was better than nothing but I have been expecting a sweet tamarind chutney because they advertise their samosas as English style. I had them at home with a bit of plum sauce and that helped cut the heat. unfortunately they were a complete loss when trying to reheat them as the batter became soft and pliable. Yes, service is a bit slow. They did have more than 1 person behind the counter, but no one was "hustling". They take orders customer by customer. So don't expect anything quick or proactive! This review is based solely on those veggie samosas. Last week, I went to a coupla places in the Mavis/Britannia area, grabbed a coupla samosas from each place and my fam had a mini, samosa contest. In comparison, neither of these places were as good as A-One's! Both Mavis/Britannia samosas were SOO SALTY! And shell of samosa was either like a too thick fried dough, the other one was flakier, but both were thicker than I prefer. A-One's? The shell was more like a spring roll, filled to the brim with potato, visible peas/carrots. AND it came with this delicious sweet, red, coriander-y sauce. Sauce alone was worth going back for! Veg samosas are $0.75ea which is apparently pricier than other places. If you know of a place that's equally good, but cheaper, lemme know!!! read more

The Service is slow as only one person is working in the front, although she was friendly but they need people in front to keep the line moving as some people might only need samosas and don't want the sweets, which takes time specially if you are coming down during lunch time. It nice to get large amount of samosas without pre-ordering. The veg samosas a little expensive as you get one for $0.60 usually you 3 for a $1 at other places. It's like an assembly line of samosas and sweets. On the Derry Road with ample parking, A One catering doesn't have any sitting place as they are for catering service . Excellent samosas and loads of assorted Indian sweets and savouries. They also cater range of Indian veg and non veg dishes and meals. A friend of mine kept boasting about A-One's samosa's so I challenged him to show me the money... so he did!! I was pleasantly surprised with some Chicken and Potato samosas to try. They look exactly like the pics that have been posted. First thing I noticed is the size, I would not say huge but on the larger end comparatively speaking. Next was the crust, it was almost like a pastry type crust rather than the conventional dough making it a pleasant change. Biting into them, they both had a good amount of filling and some spice to keep things interesting. ingredients were well seasoned and mixed so that every bite was the same. Good fresh samosas, probably 2nd best samosas in the GTA (and we've had most of them). Only issue we've had is with their counting or definition of a dozen - they think 11 in a dozen (ordered 6 dozen samosas in separate bags, each bag had 11). A bit embarrassing as we drop of samosas for friends. They did say we can come back to get the 6 samosas, but that's a 2 hour drive, . They do have a decent selection of veg & non-veg curries, and generous servings. They probably have best butter chicken. Good place for takeout. read more

I ordered channa bhutura and it taste so bland. Channe had no spice no flavor looks like simply throw chick peas in red water. Bhaturas were full of oil, seems like 1 day old and fried again. Drove 19 km as had a craving for samosas. The line to the door told me we were in the right place. Grease soaked bag was first sign of potential greatness. Second was the light flaky pastry/dough, not heavy. Third was the delicious filling. They had vegetable, chicken or beef samosas. All were flavourful with only a hint of curry, not overpowering. Great and affordable food that is unfortunately ruined by incredibly unprofessional and rude staff. One of the caterers who went by 'Nick' treated my guests very rudely, and then stood up to interrupt and hold my wedding up for 30 minutes. The entire time he screamed profanities and racial slurs. Literally every one I know recommends this place for samosas. I have been eating their vegetable samosas since I was in high school so you can say I am a fan! They always come out fresh from the kitchen in the back. I have also heard this company caters to the airlines, so that must be good right? These samosas are pretty huge, and i love the red sweet and sour sauce they give. Over the years I have refined my tastes and now I personally would prefer less filling and more crunch. This place is still solid however, I probably would only have once in a while. I am also a big fan of their sweets. Get the gulab jamun (deep fried dough ball sitting in rosewater syrup). read more

Ok, I think this place is legendary. People don't come here to buy a couple of samosas, they come here to buy a couple of boxes of samosas. Used to work by here and the place is just insane, my coworkers would go in and buy tons of samosas as if they weren't coming back to work the next day and have close access to the store. The samosas here are light, fluffy, have nicely spiced potatoes, green pea, cumin etc. pakoras are good as well, but their specialty are samosas. We have always gone to this location for Samosas and other appetizers. Most of the time we don't need to call in for a pick. But it does depend on how big the order is. The food has always tasted great. Never had any issues with the food being cold or not fresh. Samosas and spring rolls from here are the best compared to other things. If you haven't had a chance to try a Indian samosa you should definitely try one from here. They do have different types of Samosas as well like chicken or the regular one. I believe they did have beef at one point. Not sure if they still have one there. But overall, I love the samosas from this store. read more

I was craving A-one's chicken samosas so I drove to their Tranmere location from Milton and purchased enough for my family. When we had them for dinner I have never been so disappointed as they weren't the same samosas that we remembered. Instead of the samosas stuffed with chicken as they had been in the past, these ones were stuffed mainly with onions. When you are someone who isn't fond of onions to begin with, this was a huge turn-off. They didn't used to be like this. Samosas ordered for funeral reception. 75 beef @.90/piece and 75 veg @.60/piece. Definitely not inexpensive but they were large. Vegetable were hot and tasty. Unfortunately the beef ones were fridge cold inside. Apparently it is my duty to advise them that I need HOT samosas. I called the first time to order and was not asked as Kay rushed through order. Called again on morning of pickup and was told "yeah yeah yeah they will be ready". I called to find out why samosas were cold and was told "next time tell us you want them hot" , "bring them back if you want a refund or we can make them for tomorrow...", "you want a refund for 75 samosas?" I didn't ask for a full refund but would have been happy being offered a partial credit of even a dozen samosas in the form of voucher for the future. Instead I got a long lecture from Kay (owner and manager)about how they cook the beef samosas early in the morning and then put them in the fridge because of the health inspector but the veg ones are cooked all day and that's why they are hot. I was also told by her "that if I was a vegetarian like her, I would appreciate the fact that they are cooked separately". I told her that I had no problem with that but that when they take orders they should advise their customers as well as have the right information on their website. Customer service is non existent as no credit or solution was offered just an apology and a directive to make sure I tell them I need them hot for next time...like that is going to happen. Samosas were okay even if cold but the attitude from both Kay and her brother left a VERY bad taste in my mouth. Best samosas are at Sultan of Samosa! read more
