My name is Garrett Mitchell. I moved to Lakeway in August of 2016 with my son Gavin who was around 2 years old at the time. I am a single father 7 days a week. When I moved to Lakeway, I had just enrolled and started classes at Texas State University in San Marcos. I was also still working full time (16hr shifts) over the weekend for a residential treatment center for adolescent males in CPS in Mountain Home, Texas. Needless to say, I had a lot on my plate with work, school, parenting, the move, and all the stress that comes from any major life changing event. A New Day was the third daycare that I visited in the area, and after leaving, didn't have the need to look at any more. When I walked in for my tour, it was "story time". There was one teacher reading a book in front of the entire child population with the remainder of the other teachers supervising behind the group of children. I vividly remember being blown away at how attentive and well behaved all of kids were, and how amazing the teacher was at making that happen. That experience of being shocked by the daycare was not a one-time thing. Irma and the staff at A.N.D. made one of the hardest times of my life a lot easier. I can't put into words how much it means as a parent to not have to worry about your child when you are an hour away at work or school. She gave me peace of mind which is priceless. She also gave me support. I did not have to miss one class during the two semesters Gavin was at A New Day. He got sick a couple of times but she went out of her way to help me find someone to watch him, sometimes even doing it herself. On top of it all, they helped my son exceed his developmental age markers, were very communicative on how is day was and what to work on at home, and honestly made me a better parent. They are the best in mine and Gavin's experience (now having being enrolled in three different facilities and having toured close to ten). read more

This place is wonderful. It's clean. The environment is friendly. The schedule is relevant. The curriculum is exceptional. First of all, the staff is amazing. They are honest and so helpful. More than anything, I feel like we work really well together as a team. And, as a busy working mom, it helps to feel confident in my childcare. Irma, the director, really loves the children. Also, Irma is excellent at getting back to me if I have a question. One day I forgot the beloved blanket and she was able to get my toddler to sleep without his blanket. This is a big deal. She has a special gift with children and a gift with easing the hearts of worried moms too. Irma goes the extra mile. She plans neat field trips, fun parties and really engages the children. The place is clean, the kids are busy having fun and the teachers are just right for my toddler. It never feels crowded. The kids get to be kids. It's almost like a daycare in a home setting. For picky moms like me.. With my oldest child, 8 years ago, I looked at 12 daycare centers and then settled on a nanny. Then, I just stayed home. No place seemed perfect. But, this time, with my toddler, I took one visit at this daycare, and I knew I didn't have to look anywhere else. I knew this was the right place for my son. And, as I went back to work full time for the first time in 6 years, I was leaving my "baby" with someone I immediately trusted. It was just that easy. Bottom line. It's a great school. Great care. I started my son here at 12m, which is the earliest they accept students, and was naturally a little anxious about leaving him with someone else. His teachers have been so loving and caring with him from day one, and he now reaches for them happily in the mornings, which is I could ask for. The owner Irma runs a tight ship! The place is always humming with activity: arts and crafts, classroom time, music, and it seems like someone is cleaning/sanitizing the place every time I pop in. They've got a great outdoor space, which is where he is usually playing when I pick him up at the end of the day, they start 'learning' letters numbers etc in his very young class, and I haven't seen any turnover in staff since he started 6 mo ago, which is a big indicator to me that the staff is taken care of!! A bonus for me, but maybe not for everyone, is that the teachers DON'T have one of those apps in the classroom where they text you notifications everytime a diaper gets changed etc. (I feel like I'd know if his diapers weren't getting changed, and think a texting app would distract from the primary job which is to watch and engage the children). It seems like Irma's physically present every day, and it's evident has clearly been doing this for years. Oh and they have a fantastic Christmas program every year where the students blew us away with how much they had prepped and memorized for the show. Where do I even begin? The bigger corporate centers are expected to fill the classrooms up to capacity, which means the children and packed into classrooms like sardines and don't get the attention they deserve. My children attended one of the big corporate centers here in Austin and were not thriving nor were they happy at all. A New Day Child Development Center is absolutely a God sent. The classes are smaller and my kids are happy, learning, and thriving more than ever. Irma and her staff are loving, caring, personable and go out of their way to make you feel like part of their family. From the minute you walk in the doors, you will be welcomed and can be at peace knowing that your child will be cared for, learning, and having fun for the entire day. Choosing who cares for your child is one of the most difficult decisions you will make in your child's life. Irma and her staff have exceeded all my expectations. What a blessing! After years of Corporate preschools my family found Ms. Irma and her wonderful school. My son who is a " terrific " two loves to go see Ms. Irma and her fabulous staff every day. He is making friends and learning tons about manners and friendship along with the regular curriculum. From the moment I met Ms. Irma and toured the preschool I knew we had found our right "fit". A Christian woman with a heart of gold that has a gift for teaching and nurturing. She is amazing and treats all of her students as if they are her own kiddos. I am always receiving compliments on my toddlers "manners" and I always give credit to Ms. Irma and her staff at A New Day. Toby and Charlie ( her 2 pups) are fabulous with all of the kids and I love that he has furry friends to love on at school while he is away from his own furry best friend. A New Day CDC is a wonderful place for our son (4). We shopped around for day care and couldn't be more happy with our choice. It's an inviting, stimulating, safe, and fun place that he loves to go to. As working parents we worried about finding a place where he would feel at home and still get all the stimulation he needs. He is engaged and excited, and comes home sharing new stories, songs, words, concepts and things he has learned. Apart from this, they also learn good manners, sharing and caring. He loves all the ladies who work there and I always get the feeling that they would do everything in their power to make sure he's ok. Mrs. Irma and her team are experts, have a great place and they are exceptionally capable, loving and nurturing. I think he has a little crush on Mrs. Kit! He loves it at New Day - our experience has been very positive and I recommend it to everyone I meet who are looking for a place for their kid. read more

This pre-school is so amazing! My husband and I moved here in March of this year and we enrolled our 2 1/2 year old daughter here. Her transition from in-home care to school was seamless. She immediately adapted and LOVES to go to school every day. She has made so many friends and has blossomed and thrived exponentially here. We couldn't be happier with the school's director, Irma. She truly loves all her students and treats them as if they were her own. She is extremely caring, creative, responsive, informative and organized. She runs a tight ship with a loving and fun environment. We feel that our daughter could not be in a better or safer environment for her development. I could not appreciate A New Day CDC any more! What an amazing staff and learning environment for my son. It has been difficult for us to go back to work and leave our son with another adult. A New Day has inspired confidence in us to go back to work knowing that he is in an amazing place. We feel that he is safe, getting a great educational start, and most importantly is loved by the fabulous staff. We just love Ms. Irma and her school "A New Day CDC". I had my Grandson staying with me for 3 yrs. and he went to "A New Day CDC". He was a bit of a hand full, as they say very active, and very smart. Ms. Irma and her staff help me turn my Grandson into a boy that would listen & play well with others. It was nothing short of a miracle. He wanted to go to school every day, even the weekends! He was well prepared for Pre-K and is now in Kindergarten at regular school. He gets "Green Smiley Faces" almost every day! In the future if I am in need of childcare I will return to "A New Day". read more

My daughter was a student at A New Day Child Development Center for two years. During her time there, I watched her grow both socially and academically. I am extremely thankful for her experience there because they ensured that she was prepared for kindergarten. The teachers there are so loving and passionate about what they do and it was comforting for me each day leaving her at school knowing that she was truly cared about. My 3 year old Son has been going to this Day care for 2 weeks now and HE LOVES IT! He has Ms.Mary as a teacher and tells me how they play and color ect..
