Prior to my visit at J&C Skincare, I decided I wanted to get a Brazilian wax for the first time. Of course, I went to the well-known Groupon and picked a local shop to get my waxing done. To put it short, the salon I went to completely disregarded my sensitive skin and waxed me very roughly. I reacted terribly and got extreme pain, bumps and swelling, not just due to it being my first wax, but due to the lack of care. Immediately, I began looking up local salons to find a place that would help me and be patient with my very unfortunate previous experience. To my surprise, I found that J&C Skincare was very close to me and their reviews on Yelp were phenomenal. The reviewers are what really sold me to go there until I actually called and visited the salon. The moment I rung, Cynthia was very caring and helpful in telling me that it would be okay. Her care over the phone helped me calm down and find a solution. She recommended a soothing gel that I purchased which very rapidly helped alleviate all of the pain, swelling, and even ingrown hair. To me, this is what anyone's first experience with a service so intimate should be like. After purchasing this gel, I became a regular at J&C skincare. I was very impressed with the organic products that they have to offer. I am generally a very shy and awkward individual, but Cynthia helped me feel comfortable from start to finish. She talked me through the process and explained why she would use the specific wax. Her knowledge helped me feel confident with the entire experience. During the actual waxing, she checks if the temperature of the wax is okay on my skin and even stops to ask how it is doing and if I need a moment. I am so happy to say that I found a salon worth going to for good. You get what you pay for and this salon, in my opinion, is one of the best experiences I have ever had with it's range of products and the services that Cynthia has helped me with. In addition to all of this, she was very kind to help write out the packages and how much I would save if I wanted to come back for many waxes. Without any hesitation, I purchased the package because I know that I will continue to come to J&C spa for good. Cynthia recommends great products to me, and helps me see the advantages of the package in a way of care rather than some places who seem like they just want you to purchase out of money-hungry tendencies. Honestly that is not what you will see here. You will find that they go above and beyond to help you feel comfortable with your body and find what service suits you. I cannot express how amazing this salon is and I truly hope the salon thrives. I will always come here and recommend this salon to all of my friends. I've also switched to their mineral makeup by Glo Minerals. Wasnt a huge fan of the coloring in the beginning but now I think it actually worked out really well. The make-up brush i got for the pressed powder was $40! I believe the pressed power was also about $40. A little crazy but I'm going to stick with it and see how everything works out.
