(All we tried have been excellent.) Then explore the store to find all sorts of delicious Mexican groceries for your basket - we stock up on frozen tropical fruits, queso fresco, canned goods, etc.. Grab a red tray and tongs, and load it up with flaky pastries and cookies - by now it is a good time to go back to the grill and see if your food is ready, then bring all to the register and eat at the picnic tables outside. Fantastic! We are not Hispanic, and our experience is that we have always felt MOST welcomed. My son is studying Spanish at school, and the ladies at the register have been so gracious and fun helping him learn the names of foods we're buying and encouraging him to be brave and try speaking. Once when we were looking for tamales and they hadn't arrived yet, the fellow from the back even ran up to tell us they had just come in as we were buying the rest of our items. As for the actual carniceria, do not order ranchera thinking you are buying a fairly lean cut of beef. Out of the 4 lbs we bought, after trimming we were only left with 3lbs. Every worker, manager etc. I've ever had an encounter with has always been so happy, kind and genuine. Every. Single. Time. To me, this means Aldi is doing it right when it comes to getting the right employees and taking care of them. The prices! I did a price comparison between Aldi and Kroger for every item I purchased at Aldi during my last shopping excursion and saw that I saved $51.00. This blew my mind. I always knew Aldi had fantastic prices (and quality) but didn't know the savings would be that much. Just FYI- I used my Aldi receipt and compared prices with Kroger online and used generic brands for every item and still saved a ton. The quality! The Aldi brand and organic lines are so great, I never contemplate going back to big store "name brand" items. Theres also many name brand items sold at Aldi, which is nice. The produce, dairy and baby items are my favorite for sure. Organic baby pouches are almost 1/2 the price of other brands. The diapers are very similar to Target's Up & Up brand and the wipes are similar to Huggies. If you haven't gone to Aldi- go. Like now and bring a quarter for your cart :)
