I stayed at this hotel with my husband about a year ago, for just 1 night for a quick weekend…read moreexcursion from Paris. The hotel is really very beautiful, with elegant décor throughout the building and in the rooms. When we arrived, we had drinks at the bar, which had a very cozy seating area. We also spent a good amount of time at the pool (there were bathrobes offered in the rooms), which was beautiful and a calm place to lounge around in between dips in the water. Our room was beautiful but a bit small and given the high price tag, we found it wasn't really special compared to some other similarly ranked/priced establishments we've stayed at. The staff were all very polite and helpful as expected at such a fancy hotel. Overall we had a nice weekend here.

He was able to arrange a pickup for us at the airport (worth it) and our taxi back to CDG. They responded immediately to all our requests over email and were quite helpful. He also arranged a reservation for us at a local restaurant. The only misstep occurred the night before our departure. We asked for a time change for our taxi pickup which did not happen. The staff said they would call our room to confirm but they never did and the change was not made. The room was small but clean and the bed comfortable. The stand up shower head did not have good pressure. We used the shower head for the tub instead. We were on the first floor and could easily hear our neighbors above as they walked around so you might choose a second floor room for your trip. The guest WiFi did not work at all when we were there. The staff attempted to help us by providing the staff WiFi password but that didn't work as it constantly dropped the connection. In today's world, consistent and reliable WiFi is equivalent to running water. I was quite surprised the WiFi didn't work given the quality of this hotel. The breakfast bar was average to below average. I was surprised at the lack of options and the overall quality of the food offered. It was disappointing. Overall, our experience was quite mixed but overall positive. It is not a place we'd stay again but nothing we regretted for a short stop in between other destinations.

The hotel that most of the company guests use was sold out so I ended up staying at the Kyriad…read more The outside of the hotel looks a little run down but the bar and reception area were updated. The only food served is for the breakfast buffet so you have to walk to the restaurants next door if you don't want to drive. Now let's get to the good and the bad about this hotel. I had a room on the first floor at the end of the hallway. The hallway smelled like sewer gas or a toilet backup. I think it is because the laundry room door is open and the smell is allowed to waft into the hallway. The room itself was a typical European hotel. However, I was a little surprised that they had provided throwaway flip flops for use in the shower. Are these for OCD people or are you trying to tell me that you don't clean the rooms very well? It was untypically warm during my stay (25 C) and they had not yet turned on the AC so it was a little uncomfortable. Now let's get to the really bad. I scheduled a wake up call for 7am because I had a flight later that day. No wake up call....I ended up waking up on my own at 7:35am. Fortunately I made it to the airport on time. When I was racing to check out the lady apologized but I really don't think she cared. I know there is a language barrier and my French is non-existent but please don't miss a wake up call. The gentleman the night before wrote my wake up call down in a notebook...not a very sophisticated system. No wonder I never received a call. There were very few guests staying here...it almost felt like the movie "The Shining" when I first arrived. Slowly some guests started to arrive and there were finally ten cars in the lot. I understand why the other hotel was completely sold out and the Kyriad had vacancy. Next time I am in Compiègne I will make sure I stay at the other place.
