Well, you can tell this company is used to dealing with people (like me) who are rebuilding their credit (to put it nicely). They don't make it easy to pay them and are absolutely sticklers for being paid on time. This is probably why they mail you your payment coupon every single month. I don't mind that though. I would like to have been able to pay online. Either way, I wasn't late (never over a few days late during the most difficult times) and I just paid off my loan. Obviously, I was never over 30 days late or they probably would have tried to repo the asset. This isn't your typical gold star loan company, and they don't play. Despite the complaints, the fact is that they loaned me the cash I needed to buy a motorcycle when my credit was pretty poor and I am thankful for that. Better than getting turned down at the time, right? Their attitude is firm, even grim sometimes--but they were always nice to me in person when I had to ride to Glendale to make sure they got paid in time. All in all, they did me a favor and yes they made money off me with interest...but that's how it works. I've been improving my credit and the interest rate for my car is much lower and I can pay online. Yay. Progress. Either way, no matter how curt A-L was with me, I was always super nice to them and I worked hard to make them laugh (when I had to talk to them) and 'humanize' myself. I think once they got the idea that I was making all my payments they were much more relaxed. I did get some calls when I was a day or more late but I can't blame them for that. Unfortunately, you have to deal with....less friendly...companies when your credit sucks and you have fewer choices when it comes to financing, since lower tier finance companies are used to dealing with deadbeats. WOW. This place has the most unprofessional, uneducated rude people I've ever dealt with in my life. Here's been my experience with them thus far. The car was purchased by someone who lived out of the country and needed to build up credit in the United States, so the car lender went with them as a first time finance. BEFORE the first payment was due, we received 5 phone calls basically threatening to repossess the car unless they got copies of documents that we had already sent over numerous times. Upon inquiring where we could get online to make a payment, they have no website to make a payment. er.. ok. Sure, lets say this is 1990 where things like this aren't convenient. So the only way to make a payment is to either take it in M-F 9-5 *you know, take time from your busy work schedule. mmkay. Upon inquiring if we could change the payment date, they told us they would fax paperwork over. I had to call 3 times before that happened. Faxed the paperwork back, and lo and behold, the next time the bill rolls around, 6 days later (3 days before the payment SHOULD have been due if they had actually done what they said they were going to, they start harassing phone calls. & when i say harassing, i mean, downright rude bill collector style. 6 DAYS PEOPLE. While I did have credit issues A-L Financial did finance me. With that being said it would seem that they feel they only finance the scum of the earth. In all honesty I do make my payments late as I am on commission and checks dont always arrive timely. I do however make every attempt to keep from being 30 days late! I did not make it a couple of times and they rightfully dinged my credit report as such. However I recently made a payment 1 day before the 30 day mark, A-L posted to Experian that I made the payment two days later than I actually did because of their "Book Keeping" which apparently their business day ends at 11:00am PST - Sorry any east coast borrowers! My receipt shows the payment being made the date that it was made but they posted differently on Experian. So....I called in today to talk about it and was passed 3 times until I got to some guy who never gave me his name (must have known I would actually use it) and proceeded to talk over me and my point, told me I was getting bogus and fictitious information (It came right from Experian), Told me I was living in a dream world and after I thanked him for his comments he told me I was welcome and glad he could help. Haven't had a problem with this company yet, they financed the car I purchased at Ford/Honda. Made my payments on time in form of money orders. There was only one time I had to call them to let them know I was going to be late for one payment because I had just left my previous employer and started a new job and had to wait for my last check from my previous employer and a check from my new employer which were gonna be AFTER the due date of my bill. Were do I start with these assholes! Since I started with these fools I have had nothing but problems. I got my truck and had a signed and agreed pay date for my car payment they decided they wanted their money early so the sales rep calls me and starts threatening to pick up my truck if I don't have my payment to him by the end of the day. In 2009 I was 1 month late on my payment because I was on bed rest after having eye surgery. I called A-L financial and asked if i could pay half now and the other half when i got paid a week later, Alex said it was fine if i did that. I made my payment and the next day they came to my job and repossessed my car! My trunk was filled with my daughter's clothes (I had just done laundry) diapers and Christmas presents that family had sent her, they wouldn't let me get anything out except for her carseat. I was a single mother trying to catch up on bills after having eye surgery ( I'm permanently blind in that eye now) and they said that it wasn't there problem. Now 10 years later I just received Renewal of Judgment letter in the mail. They sold the car, kept my belongings and took the car from me the day after making a payment. First of all, everyone here is very rude. Several times I have had these people start yelling at me on the phone while I'm trying to explain something to them or simply ask for a specific person.
