***STAY AWAY*** Beverly, Bev Granberry is the epitome of how…read moreminority business fail at relationships and customer growth within their own communities! I will assume that Beverly Granberry is settled in on a certain financial demographic of customers which explains her defensiveness with anyone deemed challenging. I understand death is a for profit business but unfortunately customer service has been sacrificed as well, starting at the top! At this time, I cannot recommend this business because of the more than likely compromise of peace at some point in the transaction! SMH!

I can not say enough kind things about Granberry, Mr. Poe, and the rest of the staff. From the time…read moreI entered the doors I received a very sympathetic, warm, loving reception. My family had our mother's body transferred from another funeral home that we were unsatisfied with as Granberry came highly recommended. The staff at Granberry picked up where they left off and completely exceeded our expectations. I must admit that due to the untimely (Christmas week) and unexpected passing of my mother things and details on our parts were sometimes a tad hectic, late, and disordered. However the kindness, patience, and understanding that they afforded was unparalleled. Time was of the essence as my mother NEVER wished to have her body out for an extended period of time. Mr. Poe and his staff made it happen without a flinch. (Even Mr. Poe sacrificing his birthday to take care of our arrangements) :-) It is extremely difficult to lose a loved one; regardless of timing or circumstance. However when you are working with such kind and efficient professionals of their caliber it makes your existing sorrow and challenges easier to bear. To them they are just doing a job well done but to us in bereavement it is a rainbow among our storm. On behalf of Thomas family we offer a million thanks and praises. May the Good Lord bless you all beyond measure.

We had a sympathy plant delivered to McClendon Mortuary and Cremation for services on Thursday June…read more18,2020. However the plant was not in the location of the service nor given to the family. The next day I confirmed floral was delivered by florist; however when I called McClendon Mortuary to ask if they could check to see if Floral was missed, the gentleman was very rude, unhelpful, condescending and blatantly refused help saying they are not responsible for florals that are not prepared by their funeral home. I continued to ask for assistance in locating the floral since we clearly had proof of delivery (time of delivery and photo of plant inside McClendon Funeral home Flower Room). But the man refused. He did not offer me any assistance or customer service whatsoever. I have notified the family of the floral and will seek their help in finding the floral. However I feel to ask the grieving family to resolve a dispute with a company that is in business to service the needs of grieving families is utterly ridiculous. I will never use or recommend this Funeral Home to anyone.

My brother-in-law passed away in Houston, Texas. We needed to bring his remains back to St. Louis. David McClendon Jr. communicated with the funeral home in Houston and helped us with finalizing transportation arrangements from Houston to St. Louis. He talked to us daily for a week making sure that we were aware of everything that needed to be done while we were in Texas and preparing us for the arrangements that needed to be made in St. Louis. Their expertise and attention to every detail helped make the viewing and service an organized and beautiful occasion. I feel that my brother-in-law's homegoing service was perfect because McClendon Mortuary & Crematory went above and beyond to help us. I would like to thank the staff for their guidance and patience with us. I highly recommend McClendon Mortuary & Crematory.

TRISHA DAVIS, was our funeral director and worked so hard to make the visitation, service and burial at the cemetery the next day special. Everyone at the Jefferson location, including ELLEN & JAMES, were so kind and helpful. Next i plan to pre-plan my own funeral there. I am very grateful to them all.

I explained this so they did not think Rita was her middle name. During the planning meeting with the funeral director, I stated this. Also, she did not like flowers so I asked that her obit stated no flowers please. We wrote obit at meeting & I signed it. They posted the obit with the name Mary under her photo & a link to send flowers. I called upset & it was corrected. At her service the signage said Mary & even the ashes I took home had Mary listed on the bag. The worst part when when I viewed her prior to cremation. They mentioned she would be in the hospital gown she was wearing in the hospital. I also said she doesn't wear makeup so please don't apply any when I see her. They had the photo I provided for obit. They put heavy foundation, rouge & dark lipstick on her. Most upsetting was they had her in, what appeared to be a push up bra. They made her breasts look like cones very high on her chest. She was 81 years old. No one arriving from the hospital morgue after suffering a heart attack is wearing a push up bra under the hospital gown. Why would they do this? I posted a review on their website & they took it down. Don't trust your loved one with a company that can't even get their name correct despite multiple reminders.
