Dr. Khemlani met me for my first appointment, accommodating a scheduling conflict to make sure I was seen in a timely fashion. Dr. Kehmlani went to bat for me with my insurance to ensure I got an approved prior authorization. He truly had to go the extra mile. Further, the next day I was seen for the actual procedure. I was honestly terrified. He took the time to stop and speak calmly with me, reassuring me all would be fine. He took time. He showed compassion. He was above-and-beyond professional... but more importantly, he was kind. Providers like Dr. Khemlani are FEW are FAR BETWEEN. Providers that truly express empathy and grace are a rare find any more and I'm quite lucky to have been referred to him. Even better, he has a ridiculously good sense of humor and made the rather unpleasant procedure 100% tolerable... painless one would say. I can't speak highly enough of Columbia Pain Management and Dr. Khemlani. He and his staff were all spectacular and I appreciate everyone for their great care. Told by one of the associates that the practice had been advised not to see anyone of "Medicare" age while various approvals were being sought. We were very hopeful that this "different" approach to our condition might provide some hope and could not be told when we could possibly be seen. The lack of professional practice management makes us doubt the value and skills of this approach and we will be unlikely to accept a future appointment. Extremely disappointed! Felt we were told a series of lies regarding the scheduled appointment. Seriously deficient in management of the basics of a health-related practice. This rating would be lower if it was offered.

I was with dr. zilinski for at least 2 weeks of intensive care therapy treatment and he was more…read morethan wonderful in helping me figure out my diagnosis's that i've been wondering for the last couple years and within my first appointment he got them in a 2 hour time span! he knew exactly how to treat it and rewire my brain so that it didn't affect my body to align again and both weeks did that. him and the assistant probably saved my life. and i always will remember that. thank you.... as for mrs. zilinski i was wrongly accused of being drunk one appointment, where i was ABSOLUTELY NOT. i was awake for 24 hours straight, i could not fall asleep i was shaking and stumbling over my words (which is a HUGE symptom of POTS. my BIGGEST diagnosis i got from her husband. i was wearing the same clothes as i wore the previous day. that night around dinner time (7:00pm) i drank 2 glasses of wine.... a normal amount?! but because i couldn't fall asleep that night and didn't shower or brush my teeth in the morning because i was late to my appointment, i probably still smelled like it. i get that. but... she got loud with me and accused me of being drunk and did NOT listen to me when i told her i was not at all: being awake for 24 hours in results of shaking and having major anxiety because of it, not showering, had 2 glasses of wine the previous night, but would never not only drink and show up to an appointment but would NEVER drink and drive. she did not give a fuck if anything i said. she just kept making a sour face and continued to say i smell like alcohol and am drunk. I. WAS. NOT. got pissed off as anyone would be for the accusation and told everyone in the building i was drunk and to end working with me. then would not even LET me drive home. sent a fucking UBER. took my keys and wouldn't let me have them back!!! WHAT THE HELL. i went to my doctor afterwards and asked them to draw my blood to see if there was any alcohol in my system. none. had to come back in the next day to get my keys. everyone at the front desk were whispering about me and giving me disgusted looks. and mrs zilinski never talked to me blatantly ignoring me when i tried to speak to her again about it. and brushed me off and walked away. that is the most unprofessional thing i've ever seen from a LICENSED professional, who is a "psychologist". assuming and accusations based off their actions towards the situation. I absolutely recommend the neurologist side, but NEVER go to her. i am absolutely appalled by the way i was treated by her and the childish behavior and comments she chose to unprofessionally spoke towards me. 0 stars actually -10 stars for what SHE chose to say about me with a literal doctors confirmation that i was sober. im extremely sad and angry still 6 months later than i cannot see them anymore because of being accused and mistreated by her. on another note: intensive care therapy treatment for ONE week costed me $10,000 so imagine the TWO weeks to be treated for my 7 different diagnoses i was given all at once in august that means i spent $20,000 for the neurology team to help me get better results... one appointment with mrs. zilinsky on the psychological side costed me $350-425 and i saw her twice. unbelievable it's almost like she just wanted my money instead of being the role she played being a "professional" before she kicked me out and still required me to pay for the appointment that i barely was 15 minutes into. When I didn't hear from anyone, I called the next Tuesday morning. They didn't put in the order until the Friday afternoon after my appointment. I ended up calling the nerve study facility myself. I was told they had NO appointments. They couldn't schedule anything for me. I called the Dr's office the next morning and spoke to the person at the front desk. Her response was "yes, that can happen." I asked what to do at that point, she asked me to hold, came back on the line and said there was nothing they could do. WHAT?! So, that's it? No suggestions for next steps? When asked, she said there was no alternative for a nerve study facility. She didn't offer to speak with the Dr. - nothing. I asked that she ask the Dr. if he had any other suggestions or I would have to find another Dr. She said she would check with him. That was over a week ago and I have not received any communication from Dr. Van Allen. I would not recommend going there.

Dr. Justin Ilsley has been my PCP for at least 12, maybe 14 years, and I feel genuinely lucky that I found this place so many years ago. Having a naturopath as a PCP works beautifully for me; they treat the whole body, can call in prescriptions if appropriate and if something falls outside their scope I see a specialist. That said, MHC offers a remarkable range of services in-house: naturopathy, acupuncture, herbal therapies, bodywork treatments (focused massage, cupping, kinesiotape), IV treatments (chelation and vitamin supplements), and on-site blood draws for labs. And that's only about half of what they offer. It took me a long time to come around to acupuncture, but I'm a believer now. It's subtle, it treats the whole body, and it may take a couple of visits, but at the very least, you'll leave the calm, peaceful session feeling deeply relaxed and genuinely cared for. More often than not, whatever was bothering you has quietly resolved itself. Of course there's no pressure if that's not your kind of thing. If you're someone who's serious about a holistic approach to your health and not just masking symptoms with a pill, this place is a wonderful fit. It doesn't feel like a cold, clinical doctor's office. You feel like you are entering a warm, supportive, caring, natural environment when you walk through the doors. They take the time to get to know you and understand what's happening in your life, and offer treatments that reflect that. I also really like that they are invested in the community and getting to know their neighbors by occasionally offering fun workshops. Dr. Sarah Jones is a newer addition to the team and every bit as knowledgeable and nurturing as Justin and Beth. And while I haven't worked directly with Beth, I've heard nothing but high praise from the community for her talents and specialized offerings. Even the folks at the front desk staff have a warmth about them. These are some of the kindest people I know, and this is a genuinely special place.

I had to beg and wait in tears for crutches or a walker when the disk in my back became extremely swollen impacting my entire body causing extreme cramping, loosing feeling in my legs and severe knee and hip pain. I lost full motion of my joint between my leg and my pelvis. Terrible Terrible pain. I had to scoot around the house using a box. Nothing worked! Then when I had my needs neglected at Legacy in N Portland; I was forced to walk around no car in all with a foreign sharp object lodged 1 inch deep in my foot of which no one could find including a Legacy foot specialist. I limped to the store, to my child's school, to the park, and everywhere else. I had to beg for a prescription of pain killers which was not given by Legacy until I seen the specialist days later with the object still in my foot. I prefer herbal remedies over prescriptions, but I still needed the prescription. I spent the entire day calling around trying to advocate for myself the following day after being released from the emergency room. When I called I explained everything to Mississippi Health. Mind you I was never given the option to speak or arrange a time to consult my physician. Instead, I was told right off the back after explaining the horrible experience with legacy that a referral to outpatient surgery "is out of Mississippi Health Center's jurisdiction". I told them the physical in the emergency department required that I follow up with my primary. Mind you Legacy never reviewed my contacts or demographics with me. Legacy never sent over my treatment information either, which I explained. I was given podiatrist options to call and make appointments with without a referral. I ended up waiting 4 days to get the foreign object removed which was very risky and dangerous. Legacy had lied about issuing crutched to me as well. I informed Mississippi about this as well. I was told by Mississippi health that I would get call back. I did not get a call back but ended up calling and told them that they were cruel for not helping me. I was sad! They hung up on me. So its easy to tone police a person of color who is tired, scared, and desperate for services. This is a common form of micro aggression that is normalized and more than often excused. I ended up getting surgery at a different hospital after doing everything on my own. The post op appointment with Legacy consisted of a Podiatrist assistant looking at my foot for a quick minute, changing the dressing after I asked him to, then telling me the appointment was done without the Podiatrist(the expert) coming in to complete the examination and answer questions. To make matters worse, I was sent paperwork to find another provider by Mississippi Health. Even though I have already requested assistance with finding a new provider twice in the last year or so including the following day after my most recent emergency room visit. *** If you are a person of color be aware.*** I was also sent pre-surgery paperwork from legacy requesting a signature that several staff witnessed me signing. I have a picture of one (legacy does not know that I took a picture). They confiscated my form that listed my refusal to consent to vaccinations through biologics which they can place in IV's. Moving forward: I did not know that my younger sister use to be a member of Mississippi until she told me. She said she had been misdiagnosed for years until she switched providers. She lives in another state now. I spent years receiving guesstimates about conditions and had to beg for testing after doing online research and speaking with others regarding conditions. Had I not known the test names, I would not have been offered them. Medical discrimination is hardwired in policy, testing, and procedure and for this reason health care disparities exist across the board. The whole experience has been a gaslight for simple obvious needs that no one regardless of who they are or what color of skin they have should have to beg for. I am well informed and conscious about my health and I myself have worked with vulnerable populations for over 20 years serving the community so I am not anything close to how I have been treated.
