Buon Fresco - Cupola finishing with Gilding, Stippled Color, and 4 panel mural of Venice

I attended two venetian plaster classes prior to attending the classes at Buon Fresco. One was a 5…read moreday class and another a 3 day class. Having taken the three that I did, if I had to only take one, I would 100% choose Buon Fresco. Communication was very excellent and documents were organized in a timely manner. All my questions were answered in a clear and concise manner while organizing our class dates. There was nothing I was uncertain of when I showed up for the first day of class. As for the classes themselves, there are nuances and insights to Victoria's instruction that distinguish her from the rest and let you know you're in the presence of someone who has mastered this craft. Beyond the application of plaster there are courses offered which the other classes ( I attended ) didn't address at all. Most notably among them is the color theory class. The ability to color match and create custom color for clients will infinitely distinguish you from everyone else. Marbling courses are a must for anyone looking to further distinguish themselves and watching Victoria take a blank white board and transform it into a piece of marble is worth the cost of admission alone. Additionally there is a business course offered which contained valuable insights into industry specific best practices. There are also a few additional, more advanced courses, which I didn't have the time to take unfortunately. All that being said, I can't recommend Buon Fresco enough. Highest marks for sure. If you're interested in learning venetian plaster, based on my experiences, this is the school to go to, period.

The courses are structured beautifully and Victoria manages to cover a vast amount knowledge in just a couple of days. If there is anybody out there wanting to learn faux finishes or any other sort of high end finish, Buon Fresco is the way to go!

Our experiences: When my husband and I married thirty-five years ago, we purchased a La-Z-Boy…read morereclining chair. The quality of that chair was exceptional. Since that time, I have noticed a tremendous decline in their workmanship. We purchased a reclining sofa and a chair on 8/24/2012. The couch did show wear rather quickly, and eventually the screws kept coming out of the footrest. The chair remained in remarkable shape. Our most recent purchases were on 09/07/2023 (a reclining sofa, lamps, and various ornamental items) and on 05/09/2024 (the matching loveseat). I would love to attach the photos of the sagging sofa, the gaps between the cushions on the back of the sofa, the gouges in the wall made by the loveseat, and the torn leather and ripped metal on the back of the loveseat. I called the store and customer service because of the deteriorating condition of the furniture in such a short amount of time, given there are only two seniors that live in the house. Apparently, the replacement parts are free under the warranty; labor is not because it costs $160.00 an hour! It boils down to this: I will never set foot in another La-Z-Boy store, and I will never recommend La-Z-Boy to another person, but I will recommend people going to hometown-based stores, as they appear to care more about customer loyalty, customer satisfaction, and customer service. In my eyes, the fairy tale of thinking La-Z-Boy has exceptional products is over.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! I ordered furniture from the store manager, Tom Hawn, four months ago. I paid…read more$6,000 for a recliner, couch and protection plan. All that I have four months later is a chair with a defect in the leather. Two couches came in defective and Comfort Care which I paid $500 for furniture protection and repair has not contacted me even though Tom said he called them three times. Tom has told me that he would call on specific days and he never did. He never offered me anything for all of the inconvenience of not having furniture for three months. My last communication with him was two months ago. I asked for his manager's name and number to help resolve the situation. He said "no" and hung up on me. This is by far the worst merchant I have worked with. I am sad that the La-Z-Boy name is not one to be trusted. I have worked in customer service for 35 years and if anyone that works with me acted this way, they would be fired!
