All of the staff members that I interacted with had superb customer service, from the person scheduling appointment to the electrician. Once the electrician came, he was friendly and knowledgeable about what I needed fixed. It took half of the time they expected. I am super happy with the service and positive outcome. read more

Specialties

Our team of qualified electricians are devoted to exceeding your expectations. At A. Dodge Electrical, we look forward to being your trusted Lafayette electrician for years to come.

History

Established in 1985.

A. Dodge Electric is a locally founded, owned, and operated family business. Established in the 1980's by Aaron Dodge and his wife Janet we have been providing residential, commercial, and industrial services to a community where our roots run deep. Over the years, our services have expanded beyond that to include schools, hospitals, and other public institutions. The work we have done on exterior parking lots, interior office buildings, and countless residences are just a few ways we continue to light up our city and our homes. We are on call for after hour emergencies 24/7 so you will never get left in the dark!

Meet the Business Owner: Aaron D.

I started doing electrical work when I was still going to school. The local electrician in my hometown needed help so I volunteered to assist him. I learned so much from him. My father had a great influence on me as well. The word "cannot" does not exist in my vocabulary, where there is a will, there is a way! "I can fix anything but a broken heart." My wife Janet has been by my side in all our business and philanthropic efforts throughout the years. We continue to give back to our community as they have aided us in all our endeavors. I am a disabled veteran and have worked with this community proudly for several decades.Lafayette will always be our home and our business will remain local and family owned and operated.

I live in Carencro. I think my kitchen light switch went out. The fixture is 2 tube lights on a 9-foot ceiling. I have recently changed both bulbs. The job may be small or large. Can you accommodate me?

This happened right at 3pm so of course I was going to have to pay weekend/emergency rates. They sent the worker out and he was great! He figured out in less than an hour that it was not my house. It was the transformer. He was very nice and professional. Well I get a bill in the mail for $265 for that service call. I called the company to see why it was so expensive (I was quoted about $130 an hour when I had called prior to them coming out). The lady told me that they charge a minimum of 2 hours. She had not told me that when I called before having someone come out. Had I know that, I would have had another company come. I asked her since she did not tell me it was a minimum of 2 hours, it took him less than an hour to figure out the problem and he basically didn't have to do any work, can they charge me for only 1 hour. She said "No, its company policy." So now I'm stuck paying $265. It would have been nice for this company to have a heart and only charge me for 1 hour since they failed to tell me about the 2 hour minimum.

What a lack of compassion for someone dealing with a death in my family and planning the services. I don't know the secretary's name but she needs to be fired. Best electricians in Lafayette with experience and the knowledge to get the job done perfectly the first time.
