This is a perfect example why Yelp is so helpful to everyone! This "was" a frustrating situation that A Dependable Overhead Garage solved. First of all, several competitors were either way over priced or were unable to provide the service. Based on the price point, communication, follow-through and availability, I went with this company. Scheduling was a breeze. After the initial visit obtaining the necessary information to correct the issue with the garage, the company had to order the correct parts. Upon receipt, the installation was scheduled. Both service technicians or more accurately "garage door engineers" were professional respectful and informative. George arrived on time and got to work. After the install and some adjustments things looked and worked good. The challenge with an older door encompasses it's own issues, however, they knocked it out of the park. I'm very satisfied. One of the springs to operate my garage door snapped on Thursday night (10-6-2011). In the morning, I began calling some local Garage Door repairmen to get some prices to have my door fixed. When I reached A-Dependable, I spoke with the owner Chris who was friendly and to the point. I was quoted the lowest price I had come across and promised a repairman at my house the next day between a two hour window. Friday arrived and shortly after the time I was quoted I received a call from the repairman with A-Dependable. The guy said he'd be at my place with ten minutes and he was. After his arrival, he offered to repair the second spring on my garage door for an additional $45 bucks (total cost $170 parts & labor included), which was still under anyone Else's price in the area. My wife didn't let the garage door open all the way and she drove in with the SUV. It knocked the bottom panel off the guide, messed up the pulley, and bent the garage door. I called A-Dependable at 8:30am and said they'd have someone out between 1000-1200. Based on what I told them on the phone he said it sounds like they'd be able to fix it for approx. $175. Sure enough Louise (the repairman) was at my place at 1100 (and I live 25 miles away from their office). He looked at it and said it could be fixed for $125. He was done within 30min. Louise was very professional and went above and beyond just fixing the door. He told me ways to make the garage door quieter when I open and close it. He showed me how to change the rollers, and showed me the best rollers to replace it with. He even lubed the chain, which made the garage instantly quieter. The main tension spring snapped on my garage door over the weekend and about scared me to death with the huge bang! Due to prior commitments, I was unable to schedule a repair appointment until Tuesday morning. The appointment was scheduled the 9am-11am window with the promise of a call before the technician arrived. Had a call at 9.35 saying that they were about 10 minutes away, and sure enough, 10 minutes later he arrived. Our technician Brandon was polite and courteous, answering any and all questions I had for him. He explained what he was doing and installed a much better spring that had originally been there. After 20 years we needed a new insulated garage door. With my schedule I had no time to call so I emailed two companies the same day to see if they could come to my home an give me an estimate. Maria with Dependable Overhead Door Company contacted me the next morning & said Chris (owner) could meet me & give me estimate the following afternoon. After measuring & asking what specific garage door I wanted he gave me a very reasonable quote on the spot. The other company who I've used my times before over the years didn't contact me until a few days later & when they did & came to my home to give me an estimate they had to take my information back to the office before they give a quote which took another three days. Needless to say Dependable Overhead Door received my business, of which I originally contacted mostly because of their great "Yelp" reviews. So about 10 days later Maria contacted & worked with me to set up the installation date & time. The morning of the installation John (installer) called me 20 minutes prior to his arrival like I had requested. When John arrived he was on time, very friendly, professional & knowledgeable on the questions I asked prior to him starting the install. During the removal & install process he was very gentle with our new door equipment & went out of his way to do an awesome job even with having to relocate some wiring & installing the long heavy duty springs we requested. After completing the install I asked him if he would check & adjust the down force of my garage door opener which he did & he cleaned up everything in my garage area better than it was before he arrived. I requested service from this company when the cables came out of the cable drums (on both sides) on my garage door. The technician showed up, looked at the issue and told me he could not find any issue, put the cables back, didn't replace any parts, and charged $185. A couple weeks later the same thing reoccurred: again no root cause found, put back the cables and charged another $185; they removed this later charge only after I told them it should be covered by the warranty. A week ago, this issue happened again (about 2 weeks after the 2nd time) I spoke with customer service and they told me that they will charge $98 just for coming out again, I realized that they don't how to fix it and didn't want to spend more money for nothing. I called another company for service , the technician told me that the door lost the alignment. He spent more than an hour to take apart drums and cables to realign & the door works ok so far.
