*sigh* I actually write this review with a heavy heart…read more Honesty catered my wedding back in October of 2005 and everything was amazing. Although I didn't get a lot of food at my wedding, everyone raved about how delicious it was. If I had a yelp account then, Honesty would have received 5 stars. From start to finish, Kristy and her staff were great. However.... I reached out to Kristy, because I am planning a vow renewal this year on my wedding anniversary. We met with her on 12/18 to do the consultation for the renewal and she stated she would get the draft contract to me that week or the following week. On 1/4, I sent her an email asking if she had a chance to complete the draft contract. No response. On 1/18, I followed up on my email regarding the draft contract. No response. So, I started looking elsewhere. I went to a bridal showcase at Newton White Mansion on 1/30 and she was there. She recognized me and we spoke briefly. She asked me if I was waiting for the draft contract and i stated yes. She said that now that things weren't so busy, she could get it to me. On 2/2, I sent her an email indicating that I was disappointed in the lack of communication, but I was still willing to work with her, although I was definitely on the fence, more like almost over the fence. I asked for a status on the contract proposal and stated if I didn't hear from her by 2/15, I would move on. Needless to say, I did not hear back. It's such a shame because her food is AMAZING and I would have loved to have worked with her again. Oh well, the show must go on.

Maybe Not So Honest After All…read more Back in November I decided to have my Thanksgiving dinner catered. I knew that I wanted Fried Turkey so I did a search and found that Honesty Gourmet Caterers fries turkeys. I checked on Yelp and found that they didn't have a rating I decided to try them anyway. I immediately contacted the company to pay for what I wanted and schedule a pick up time for my food which happened to be the day before Thanksgiving at 2:30. I arrived about 2 or so to pick up the food only to learn that while everything else was ready, the "Sweet Potato Muffins " were not ready yet and I was asked if I could come back at 4:00. I rejected that because I live quite a ways away and requested that I just be reimbursed for the muffins which were $25.00 with tax it came to $26.50. I got a handwritten note on the receipt stating "refund for muffins" with a signature by "Jeanne." When I asked about the gravy I got a blank look. I insisted that I was supposed to get gravy with the meal and so they told me to wait. They were very apologetic because, according to them, most of their staff had gone away for the holidays and that left only a very few to cater to the demand. I took the remaining items which consisted of the Cajun fried turkey which had a charred smell to it, greens, stuffing, and cranberry sauce (it literally was in an Ocean Spray can) and with the assistance of a guy working there... I left. The Food I taste tested the sides cold so that I knew what I was getting myself into... good thing. The greens didn't taste too hot to me... and after getting a second opinion the person stated that the greens had a "fishy" taste (a taste greens are NOT supposed to have under any circumstances). The stuffing was good but the gravy that they seemed to not want to relinquish seemed rushed and tasted like fried oil. On Thanksgiving Day I repaired the greens so that they didn't have that "fishy" taste they seemed to have by stripping all of the juice out and replacing it. The fried turkey still had a charred smell even after being in the fridge overnight. It was rather dry and the charred smell came through in the taste of the turkey (unpleasant). I ended up having to use store bought turkey gravy because the gravy I received from Honesty wasn't up to par at all. All in all for nearly $200 I feel like it was not worth the price. The Refund? So with holiday over I called and spoke with "Kristy" about my refund for the muffins and she tells me she forgot all about it and seemed to be woolgathering that she also had to refund someone else. She said she would send me a check out for the amount... even asked me if I'd be interested in going to church with her. I declined. The phone call concluded. Then in late December I began receiving invites to my email from Kristy to an Inauguration thing. I was floored... I haven't gotten my refund and yet I'm getting emails about attending an inauguration ball? Crazy. I tried again by replying to the email about my refund which Kristy did not reply to. So in January, I went to my bank in an effort to recover the money that way. Here it is 2 months later and I have a "temporary" credit... and it seems that my bank is having some issues getting information from her and whoever does her invoicing as well. So my review is... I wouldn't if I were you...

The Courses at Andrews - Air Force One taking off over the golf course. Probably taking some body somewhere else to play golf at great expense. Again.

Yeah, hate to lower my rating from the prior experience (which was a generous 4 hoping for better…read moreconditions during in season golf) but the course wasn't a whole lot better in July. No leaves all over the course this time, but lots of mud and bare spots. The rough was so long that it was hurting pace of play, and making finding your golf ball (even just a few feet off the fairway) an ordeal. The one good thing i can say about course conditions this time, were that the greens were in awesome shape. A true roll everytime. Playing the East course. The cart we were given was not reset from the day prior, and on hole #1 we were forced to play cart path only. We had to skip hole 2 to return to the clubhouse and get that fixed, except, they didn't fix it. After being paid not much attention, we finally rooted around and found the reset button on the GPS ourselves, which eventually updated and took off the cart path restriction. There are a couple points where there is a cart path junction, and all the paths are in such bad shape, it isn't clear which way you're supposed to go. A sign would be nice. There is not drinking water placed anywhere on the course, except for behind a no longer used snackbar on hole 11(?). Again, a sign that there is an ice machine with water behind that building would have been nice. We didn't notice it until we came around and saw it from hole 16(?). The highlight of the day was Air Force One taking off above our heads on hole 9. Probably on its way to play a much better golf course, though at great expense to the taxpayers. The range is still the highlight here in my opinion. Doesn't look like much, but TopTracer and shaded hitting bays make for a pleasant experience. Chip and putt green is in great shape. Clubhouse and facilities still showing their age. This place could use a little love, IMO.

Great management. The Starter- I think his name is Nick- is absolutely accommodating and helpful…read more Jared and Steve are amazing. The course is in fabulous shape and getting better following years of mediocrity. Kudos and keep up the great work. Fore!
