I have been using A Cut Above to tint my vehicles for over 13 years. They have tinted at least 6 cars for me. None of them have had any issues with their tints since installation. I DO NOT recommend this shop to anyone, not even my worst adversaries. Actually, if I could put ZERO stars, I would. I really hated to have to write a bad review, but I felt compelled to do so. All I can say is that D. Perkins, the owner of the business has shown me to be a dishonest person. The shop does okay, average work at best - but Mr. Perkins is unprofessional, a liar, and cheat (that is putting it mildly). I brought them my Aston Martin in June 2020 to have the windows tinted. The shop managed to crack the windshield of my car, reportedly due to misuse of the heat gun on the glass itself. The shop manager, Matt (an honest guy), admitted to the mishap, documented the incident in writing, and promised that they will take care of it. I took his word for it. He put me in touch with the owner, David, who in-turn accepted responsibility and promised to replace the windshield. He got back with me few weeks later to let me know that his insurance would not cover the cost. After checking with the local Aston Martin dealer and told the cost to replace the windshield through them was upwards of $6k, I offered to help locate a less expensive glass, and found one to be shipped from Europe, for $4,120 (that's a savings of about $2,500 for Mr. Perkins). I thought, great, I could finally have the glass replaced. Instead, I started getting the run-around from Mr. Perkins. Twice, he mentioned that he had ordered it through the supplier I referred him to buy direct from, but no glass was shipped and none ordered. I confirmed that from the supplier, myself. Mr. Perkins then told me that funds were actually not available, due to COVID-19 work struggle and requested I pay for it out of my own pocket, and he would pay me weekly, over a month period. I sympathized with him, as I have taken hit in my business as well. So I agreed to his request, in good faith and paid for the windshield and ordered it, myself. I then got a payment of $1,000 around the end of August, while the windshield was in route. Then Mr. Perkins started getting harder and harder to get hold of. After many attempts to contact him, it took until November 3rd for him to pay me another $500, and that was the last I heard from him. I tried contacting him directly and through his shop manager. Now, we're almost nine months since this disaster happened and seven months since I last chatted with him. Mr. Perkins / A Cut Above Window Tinting - Webster, TX still owe my $2,620. At this point, I am pursuing legal action. read more

I recently needed to get my windows tinted on my new car. I was looking for a new place as the business I used to go to closed. I was recommended to try A Cut Above by a friend who owns a glass company. I stopped in on a Thursday to schedule an appointment. He was able to get me in the next day. Matt, the manager, explained to me that most of their business comes from local dealerships. I did see several Ron Carter Hyundai vehicles in the shop when I was there. Coincidentally, my car was also a Hyundai so they have a ton of experience with my model of vehicle. Because of the familiarity of my vehicle, my appointment the following day took less than an hour. They do all types of vehicles. I was very pleased with the service I received as well as the tint job. It looks great. Oh, it comes with a lifetime guarantee. I'm not sure if it is a transferable warranty. They have free password protected wifi if you choose to wait while they tint your windows. If you live in the Greater Clear Lake area and need your windows tinted, you should at least get a quote from these guys. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Called around and found that this place had the beat prices. Made an appointment for the following day at 8:30 am. Showed up around 8:20 and was out by 9:15! Very quick and professional. My windows automatically open just a bit when you open the door, which caused my driver Window tint to peel a little on the bottom, called them up and they immediately said to come in and fix it real quick.
