We are STILL waiting for the Carport to be finished. No response to text messages to the guy who was last here. It is ONE year since Contract signing. After I posted the last review, I got a call in a few minutes-- of course, nothing got done, but at least it was a response. I do still own the last 10% of the total-- I guess they dont care anymore. The Carport was improperly installed- there is NO flashing between the roof and the carport -- rain leaks the entire length of the Carport. 1st review-- July 2, 2025 Lanai and Carport. Contract signed in July 2024. It is now July 2025 and we are STILL trying to get this job finished. Permits were not submitted until Sept 2024 and the were REJECTED. The County gave explicit instructions to correct. It took until April 2025 before Permits were finally correct. Carport was built using an entirely different system than what we were sold. Failed inspection. Lanai, built by a different crew, weeks later, did pass. Another crew had to fix lanai. They demanded full payment even though we had had no rain & we wanted to be sure there were no leaks. First big rain-- BUCKETS of water on carport. Still demanding FULL payment- threatening to lien & or REMOVE the structures. The "repair" did nothing. I did make a payment & held back only 10%. They are still arguing about when it will be fixed properly-- there was NO flashing at the roof line. They tried to blame US for a new roof. (roof is 2 years old). Today, with no appointment, someone showed up, without a ladder, to LOOK at the problem & proceeded to YELL at me for being annoyed that it was not done. Read less

But, at that age, it was time to bite the bullet and pony up full cash for a replacement before my luck could run out. I interviewed three roofing companies and selected RBS because they weren't trying to "sell" me on anything. It was clear that, in contrast to the other two roofers, RBS was genuine about providing a quality product. Chad came out promptly, provided a free estimate, which was neither the lowest nor the highest: new shingles, minor wood repair, replacement gutters, and downspouts. I dithered about shingle color choice, so Chad sent me pictures of actual homes in the area with the shingle colors I was considering. This turned out to be a real help, as it's impossible to look at a sample board and get a good idea of how the shingles look in real life, on a real roof. RBS took care of the permitting and HOA approval process (much appreciated!) and kept in touch as to the progress. In about 4 weeks, the workers arrived precisely at the promised time and were done that same day. The end result was a really nice-looking roof of top quality shingles and careful workmanship. I was amazed at how many times workers went around the perimeter of my house with a magnet, making their very best effort to get up any stray nails. They also were super-meticulous about cleaning up other debris. Chad came by the next day to make sure everything was done to spec and nicely tidied up. Very positive experience, and I definitely recommend RBS.
