They had a rotary black telephone in working condition for $65 which I though was cheap. Most of what I've seen in that condition were going for $85 and up. As for their refurbished typewriters-I think AOTS's are a bargain. Most of their typewriters are in excellent conditions and from what I saw they were priced at a fair price. You do get what you pay for on an antique typewriter. Yes you can get one on ebay for $85 but you don't know what kind of condition it is in. It's better to get one refurbished by a skilled technician otherwise you minds well toss your $85 bucks out the window....besides do you know a typewriter technicians? I mean who services these things anymore? exactly....actually I do know one. My friends and I came in looking for movie soundtracks, and while we were looking, a tall, older…read moreman approached us and asked if we were the girls who had been looking through them. I said yes, and he immediately responded, "No, no, no, let's put these back," speaking to us in an extremely condescending and disrespectful way, as if we were children who had done something wrong. After we put everything back and were getting ready to leave, he then said, "Let's see if you girls are true to your word." The entire interaction was incredibly uncomfortable and inappropriate. He repeatedly looked us up and down while talking to us, which made it very clear that this was not simply an employee doing his job. We are young girls, and the way he was speaking to and looking at us was completely unacceptable. What made the situation even worse was seeing his male coworker with long brown hair laughing while he was talking to us. Watching another employee find the situation funny instead of recognizing how uncomfortable and inappropriate it was was honestly disgusting. If this is how your employees treat young female customers, there is a serious problem. We came in to look at movie soundtracks, not to be talked down to, scrutinized, or made uncomfortable by an older man who seemed far more interested in us than the products we were looking at. Employees should make customers feel welcome and safe not embarrassed, intimidated, or sexualized. This entire interaction was completely inappropriate and needs to be addressed.

The hooks on the helmet cover are attached so badly that two of them snapped off the first time I tried to attach it to the helmet. Luckily they were the two side ones so I can still use it. They were attached by a couple of crappy rivets that weren't even put in straight and seem to be made of some kind of soft pig iron. The tunic is a joke of sticking out threads and poorly sewed on buttons. I got tunics from an asian online seller that cost less and are much better in build quality and fit. Hessan antique gear is trash and I won't be wasting my money there again. I'll stick to a certain two UK based sellers whose gear is ten times better quality.
