I am so happy I got to see Johannessen Lights this year for Xmas!…read more There is still time to see this light display - Dec. 26-Dec. 31, 2023 from 6-10 is your last chance. It may seem like a lot of work to get to it quite honestly but it's worth it. Park at the Publix parking lot. There were police officers to help you cross, and it's about a half a mile to a mile walk in the neighborhood. When you get there, there are photo opps and you can peak a bit into the front, but make your way to the line to the back. It's 10 to get to back. It's great and worth it. There is so much to see here in every angle and everyone here working is very nice. There's even an overlook to see up top. We went around 9PM on a Saturday and the back was closing around 10:30 and the front around 10:45. We stayed until the very end to see all that we could. I was so happy to see this display and will make it on the holiday Christmas home rotation. This one and 2811 Clemwood in Orlando were my two main faves. I know there's a lot more, but these two were most memorable. Johannassen's address is 7849 Georgeann, Winter Park, FL!

The address is: 7849 Georgeann St. Winter Park, FL 32792…read more The Johannessen Lights is one of the best Christmas light experiences you can find in the area. Nancy and I have been coming here for several years now. The family is actually in the business of decorating other family's homes, so it only makes sense for them to put on the best show around. The entire property is lit-up, including the back yard. It is free to get in, but access to the back yard cost $10 (used to be $5, bummer). Staff informed me that it takes about 6-months to set up the property for this event and over 2-million lights, wow! Guests used to be able to park on main road leading to the home, but now, the road is blocked off to non-residents, and Police are routing traffic, so you have to park at the Publix or Ross parking area about a ¼ mile away. If you have issues with walking, I highly recommend brining a wheel chair. If you are local, it would be way easier to ride your bicycle. There are two Porto-lets on site, but they are quite messy and there is no lighting, so bring a headlamp and a lot of disinfectant wipes. Once you make it to the property, you will find a variety of photo op areas like the main entrance, Santa's sleigh, the stacked presents, Santa's reindeer, the nut cracker guards, huge lighted ornaments, and many more. Also inside, the Johannessen family is selling snacks, fresh popcorn, hot chocolate, and other drinks at a fair price. There have been a few changes since we first started coming here, like I mentioned, about the parking and cost to get in the back yard; regardless, this family is putting a lot of hard work, money, and resources into this annual light show and essentially asking for nothing in return. I highly recommend making a donation or paying the $10 to get into the back yard. This goes a long way and show's the family that their love for Christmas and the community is appreciated. If I can make one recommendation to improve this event, it would be to hire someone to clean the Porto-let's at least hourly and provide some type of lighting directly outside the Porto-lets so guests can see what they are doing. Another thing to note is that this place gets packed! Our most recent visit was Thursday 12/14/2023 around 8pm and it was a madhouse. The line to get in the back yard was loooooong, and so was the line for concessions. I recommend getting here to find parking around 5:30pm so that by the time you get to the house, 6-ish it will be dark enough to enjoy the lights and see all the sites before the crowds come rolling in.

Ordered flowers to surprise my new girlfriend at work the Monday after a great date. Was assured…read morethat they would be delivered by 4 as requested. Called at 4:10 and the man confirmed that they had been delivered. When I didn't hear from her by 5 I was concerned so I had to ruin the surprise and ask if she got them, she didn't. Called back and the man apologized and said he would upgrade them the next day. When I called back the following morning a woman answered the phone and stated that they didn't even have roses and wouldn't get any until that afternoon. It was clearly a case of one person not knowing what the other was doing. I cancelled my order and went to the shop for my receipt. The male owner was absolutely indignant and rude that I cancelled the order and even more so that I should have the nerve to ask for a receipt. He kept saying how busy he was and he didn't have time to deal with me. Me, the person who paid $85 for flowers that were not delivered and was even told incorrectly that they were. I have never experienced such rude, unprofessional and unacceptable conduct from a flower shop and will never use them again under any circumstance.

Do not ever order from this company. They are an inactive business but still process your credit…read morecard under another company name. After placing an online order, I learned the person I was sending the flowers to never received them. The phone number listed is unanswered as well as online contact. Since I live out of State, a local relative drove to the address. When the business was approached directly in person, which by the way is also a house, they acknowledged they were out of business but claimed they forwarded their orders to another florist. Shortly after being approached, my order was delivered by another florist...not what I ordered and looked much cheaper. When I contacted the florist that actually made the delivery, they said they had no relationship with Palm Harbor Florist. They even told me the flowers delivered were much cheaper then what I paid. SCAM As much I want to support local business...be careful they are order pushers, local businesses know and take their orders and take a pay cut. The order they place to customers is subpar. Most people placing the order will never know. My order went through bloomingdays...they claim no responsibility but I don't buy it.

UPDATE (July 2025): It's been over a month since this incident occurred, and only after filing…read moreformal complaints with the BBB and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services did I finally receive any form of contact--from Gladiator Sod's insurance agent, John at Commercial Insurance Specialists, LLC. Shockingly, within the first two minutes of the call, John accused me of attempting insurance fraud and claimed that by leaving this review I was "playing dirty." He initially said he had reviewed the surveillance footage, but after I asked questions to clarify, he admitted he hadn't actually seen it--instead relying solely on what his client told him. John also stated that the owner of Gladiator Sod "would have just paid me out of pocket" for the damage of the trailer, which is strange considering no one from Gladiator Sod has ever contacted me directly--not even once--except for a vague BBB response weeks later. This situation has been nothing short of a nightmare: * My property was damaged on their premises. * I received no response until I escalated it to state agencies. * When contact was finally made, I was accused of fraud without any real investigation. If I were trying to commit fraud, would I have posted all of this publicly, pursued formal complaints, or requested insurance contact details from day one? Absolutely not. This company has shown a complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic customer respect. I will continue to pursue this matter further--not only because of the damage, but now because of the personal and baseless accusations made against me. UPDATE to business response: Thank you for your response. However, I must clarify several key facts: 1. This is not the first you are hearing about this. I made two separate attempts to contact your business directly prior to posting this review. In addition, I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. To imply this is a surprise undermines the efforts already made to resolve this issue privately and professionally. 2. The damage to my trailer was not present before the visit to your facility. I have reviewed surveillance footage from multiple angles on my personal property before departure and upon return, which clearly confirms the condition of the trailer changed immediately after the visit. 3. The assertion that "anything could have happened in the 5 days" is misleading. The damage was observed and documented upon immediate return--not five days later. The timeline and circumstances clearly indicate the damage occurred during loading on your premises. 4. Florida Statute 627.4137 legally requires a business to provide insurance carrier information upon request after an incident of this nature. Your refusal to provide your insurance information is a direct violation of this statute. I am again formally requesting your insurance provider's contact details so this matter can be addressed appropriately. I am still open to resolving this without escalation, but I will not hesitate to take the necessary legal steps if my request continues to be ignored. Your cooperation and compliance with Florida law would be the most professional course of action moving forward. Govern yourself accordingly. ---- On June 28, 2025, I visited your facility and purchased 1.5 pallets of sod. During the loading process, your employee caused damage to my trailer. I have reviewed surveillance footage from multiple cameras at my residence which clearly shows the trailer was free of any damage prior to departure. Upon return from your facility, the damage is evident. Based on the timing and circumstances, it is reasonable to conclude that the damage occurred on your premises and as a result of your employee's handling. As such, I am requesting the contact information for your insurance provider so that this matter can be formally addressed and resolved. Please respond promptly, as failure to do so may require me to pursue further action to recover damages. Shawn Robertson Vehicle: White F150 Trailer: Black 20ft

Apparently larger orders push smaller orders like mine back. Gladiator Sod and I actually had exchanges over the phone and trust me when I say, it wasn't nice. Seems a two hour job is way too simple for this company. After reading the negative comments from others I now understand why. They simply don't care. SMH. The worse part, the owner doesn't care what the employees say or do. I was told to never come back. lol. They don't even know trespass laws. Apparently ignorance is bliss. People, don't do business here, I regret it. All you have is excuses. A simple job and the only thing happened was excuses. Just read the negative reviews from others. Gladiator sod isn't a good place to do business. I learned just like the others. I now know it's hard for gladiator sod to tell the truth. Bye bye. People, don't do business here
