First, one of my biggest dreams as a bride was to walk down the aisle to Canon in D, fading into Somewhere Only We Know. At the rehearsal dinner, he played it correctly. But on the actual wedding day, he completely skipped Canon in D and went straight into the second song. It was devastating not to hear the song I had always imagined walking down the aisle to. For our first dance, we had specifically requested the DJ to end the song (Always and Forever) at 1:37. Instead, he started the song at that point, leaving us with only about 10 seconds to dance before he transitioned straight into the parent dances. We had choreographed a surprise dance for our guests, so we had to ask to redo our first dance entirely. He also insisted on using a fog machine, which we originally agreed to. However, it ended up setting off the fire alarms twice. Despite being asked repeatedly to turn it off, he continued turning it back on until it finally stopped after multiple alarms went off. We had taken the time to put together a full playlist of songs, along with guest requests, but none of these songs were played during the reception. In fact, the groom had to personally request the bride's favorite song before it was finally played, and our maid of honor had to beg for the last song of the night to be honored. We explicitly requested no explicit songs, but there were multiple instances where explicit songs were played while the DJ was away from his table filming videos for his own social media. When he realized curse words were being broadcast, he would rush over to manually lower the volume or change the track, which was unprofessional and disruptive. During dinner, the music was far too loud, to the point that guests could not talk to one another. The groom had to ask the DJ four separate times to lower the volume. On a positive note, he did manage to keep the party going and brought energy to the dance floor, which guests enjoyed. However, as a bride, it was extremely disappointing to feel ignored on such an important day, and to have so many of our wishes and plans disregarded. ----------in response to you Jeff, Thank you for taking the time to address these concerns. Regarding the processional music, I apologize if I missed the first few seconds of the song, if it was played; however, I was intentionally waiting until I heard Canon in D to begin walking. Per our agreement, you were supposed to continue playing Canon in D until I reached our designated marker -- the end of the cement walkway before the grass -- and then transition into my second song. At no time did you communicate that you would only play "10 seconds" of it; in fact, you had stated you would be "playing it by ear" in case of delays to help things run smoothly. Additionally, we never requested any free services or asked you to bring your speaker and microphone to the rehearsal. You offered to attend on Friday to set up your equipment, which we appreciated, but that was entirely your decision. While our guests did enjoy themselves, as the clients who hired you, it was disappointing that many of the songs and bands we specifically requested were not played throughout the event. The groom even had to personally request songs that were included in our original playlist, which should not have been necessary. The bride and groom were occupied with wedding activities for the first few hours of the reception, and when it was finally time to unwind and dance, the bride did not want to spend her evening requesting songs that should have been played in the first place. We had hoped the music selection would better reflect our preferences. I do appreciate the effort and hard work you put into the event. However, placing blame on us as clients for expressing our dissatisfaction with the services provided is highly unprofessional and concerning. Thank you for taking our feedback into account.

And that is only the beginning of the nightmare we experienced. Not enough food for our 30 guests when we ordered food for 50...the flowers never arrived...and after crying, I was left with gossip from the party goers that I put on horrible parties. Desperate, I went on thumbtack and sent out a message (more like a distress signal). Among the replies I got back, Janice from Simply Elegant wedding and events reached out to me. She stood out instantly. She sent me links, and information. And a list of vendors to get on the phone right away. (Free of charge) and once we got on the phone she was extremely professional, funny, and sincere. She knew what I needed, and right away I knew I had to work with her. We made an instant connection, and I'm SO glad I found her! Throughout the past 9 months, Janice was available to me for questions I had, planning, she went with me to every vendor, helped picked our vendors, and was there for every step. Eventually I was calling her my "wedding mom". Haha! She is worth her weight in gold, and I couldn't have done it without her. My wedding was 2 weeks ago.. and it was BEAUTIFUL! Janice took control and made our dream wedding come true! Complete with my dorky Harry Potter stuff, and my husbands love for sports- she made it elegant and fun in such a seamless way. She even has an arsenal of wedding supplies and helped by bringing some of her own supplies! As well as her supplies, her vendors she works with were phenomenal! We used her caterer, make up artist, Dj (DjErick Ve) , florist , photographer, and party rentals. EVERY one of these vendors were amazing.. and a pleasure to work with. We booked a venue that was a completely blank slate because we had a very specific vision for what we wanted the wedding to be and look like. Barb came in with the perfect suggestions for vendors and great advice about logistics. She knew exactly who to call when we said we wanted TONS of color in our florals. She knew exactly what we needed when we said the venue doesn't have a built-in bar. She read through and kept on top of all our contracts. We booked her more than a year ahead of our wedding and she stayed in contact the entire time. We had 280 total guests and the Fresno Event Group knew exactly how to handle the movement of all of the guests from parking to ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. Cindy was great at setting up the site map and worked with us when we had questions about table layout and the best setup for flow. Barb had tons of tips and suggestions for moving all of the guests from space to space in our massive venue! I had one inspirational photo and a general theme and the Fresno Event Group turned our wedding into a live Pinterest board. Every single detail and idea we had was brought to life in a way that was a billion times better than we could have imagined. Everything was perfect! When I got engaged about 5 years later, I immediately called Barbara to hire her for my wedding, knowing full well I wouldn't have enough time or patience to plan my whole wedding from start to finish and that I would be in great hands. (I also didn't want my bridal party or family putting out the decor or being in charge of coordinating the vendors the day of the wedding, I wanted it to be a relaxing day for all.) The whole FEG Team (Barb, Cindy and Nicole) exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond anything I could have imagined from an event coordinating company. Barb met with me anytime I needed (she doesn't restrict her clients to a max amount of meetings because she's realistic and knows that planning an event may need multiple meetings and site visits to make things perfect). She kept me on track and was incredibly organized during the whole process. She accompanied us to all vendor meetings and even met with our vendors alone if we couldn't make it. She was also amazing with my in-laws - she kept them in the loop the whole time and gained their trust right away with her professionalism and follow through. We had some difficulties dealing with our venue and she was always there willing to go to bat for us to make sure we were happy with the end result. Barb's whole team was there from the moment the tent went up on the Thursday before the wedding until the tent and pipe & drape came down on Sunday after the wedding was over. I was lucky enough to have Barb, Cindy and Nicole all there on my wedding day (4.16.16) and they worked SO hard to make sure everything about the day was beyond perfect. They never once came to tell me if anything was going wrong, they just handled it. I was more relaxed on my own wedding day than I've been for all my girlfriends' weddings! The…read morelady who runs the shop is named Samantha, and she has been SO HELPFUL in giving advice for my upcoming wedding ceremony. First off, I believe the original shop is a hardware store, but that is across the street, or idk some other building, so dont get confused. This shop deals with events/party planning/rental stuff. She accommodated my work hours by meeting me after work at 5:30 (her shop closes at 4). There's lots of different props and good stuff here for your upcoming event, and in different themes. My theme is rustic (apparently it seems like every other bride's theme too right now...doh) & she has many ideas and props to use. she'll even recommend you diy or find other cheaper ways than just renting from her shop. Before coming in, I was nervous & stressed. Coming out, i felt relieved and less stress because you get the sense this is a woman who has been in the business for a while, and knows the area well. She referred me to people locally for my flowers and kegs, and I am so happy she took that burden of finding someone off my back. you go in & tell her what you want - in my case, it was "my dream wedding". told her everything i wanted, and we even put in just in case extras - such as a tent & heat lamps in case it rains. On my first meeting, she put it all on an invoice and gave me my quote (which was an awesome price btw). I came in about a month later, and not only did i realize (because i failed to understand the first time in my excitement) she had already reserved the day for my wedding and had the quote saved. So this time, we were able to fine tune it & add/subtract stuff. I'll go back in Sept to finalize the plans. They seem to offer everything and travel to set up as well. They were telling me they went down south for a wedding to set up. Not bad for a little family ran Armona shop. Anyway - dinnerware, tents, dancefloors, chafing dishes, concession stuff, columns, linens, heck i saw trees on the pricing menu she gave me to rent! I will definitely give an update for the after, but I wanted to put my review up to help any other brides/event planners in the area!

Said they'd run our card when we call back to confirm. It wasn't even a deposit. We did not call to confirm because we were obviously shopping around...but they called us back to yell at us that now they want to charge us OVER $50 dollars restocking fees. REALLY?? 57 dollars?? Crooks. We let them charge us anyway because they, THE BUSINESS, was yelling at us over phone. I'm not about that inconvenience. They probably need that money a lot more than us apparently. No customer deserves that. AND, even w the greedy charge, it was still cheaper to go with a different rental business WHO ARE MUCH NICER AND POLITE. She has said that customers in the past have been upset in the past and now I can see why. Thieves. DON'T RENT FROM CROOKS AND DESPERATE BUSINESSES! Took us about 20min from being behind a customer, to placing our order to receiving our order. So a little longer than a regular drive thru but the food is good! Pro Tip: the habanero sauce is fire! I mean it will literally taste like fire when you use it, so be careful! Her other sauce is so delicious! Perfect spice and flavor! The habanero is for when you really like a kick to your tastebuds! Get it! Asada was more tender and almost shredded compared to a lot of the other places I go to. I didn't mind it! Burrito was a win and would come back for another. The Esquite was good! It definitely tasted more like melted Mayo with corn sitting in it but it wasn't a bad thing. The hibiscus was fantastic! Taste was one of the better drinks I've had from any Mexican restaurant. Pro Tip: be ready for them not to have certain things. Being a mom and pop shop, the day we went they didn't have horchata or tamales. Give this place a go if you're ever done getting your car washed, or happen to be coming or going down this area. Make sure not to pass it, it's right next to Gozen.
