Took my Caravan to Tankersley for cooling fan replacement work. The cooling fan unit is…read moreimmediately behind the radiator. At 49000 miles, there has been no leak from the radiator. After the cooling fan replacement, the radiator leaks - about one half of the volume of the coolant reservoir in two or three 3-or-so mile trips. I had a mechanic check it out -- "Yes, there is a spewing leak on the driver's side near the bottom." And this was after some other rather expensive but expert work by Tankersley. I leave the "assumption" of the cause of the leak to you. The van is our daughter's wheelchair transport, but now it will not make it to her Fort Worth doctors. And at around $400 cost to replace the radiator, what are we to do?

Took our vehicle in for a/c service. They said one of the radiator fans was out and we paid for…read morethem to replace it. In doing so apparently the power steering reservoir needed to be disconnected and while doing that the hose to the reservoir was damaged and started leaking. They replaced the hose and delivered the vehicle. A/c was ice cold! A few weeks later my wife heard a pop sound and the power steering went out. Turned out they installed a radiator water hose instead of the molded power steering hose and it was all kinked up when they bent it in to fit and it exploded sending power steering fluid all over the engine bay. The hose was replaced with the correct hose from the factory and from that time on the power steering pump seal and the both seals on the rack and pinion are now severely leaking fluid. Took it back and they told us the power steering pump went bad and we paid for them to replace that. Still leaking all over the driveway. Faron tells us to drive it for a while and take it for an undercarriage wash. Did so and waited several weeks. Still leaking all over the drive and power steering fluid noticeably getting lower. Took it back and now they say well it is still leaking, and the power steering rack needs replaced. A $2,500 repair after we already paid to have the power steering pump replaced and note this vehicle didn't leak a drop until after the wrong hose they put on exploded. Spoke to Faron and his shop foreman and despite acknowledging that the younger mechanic should never have done that there no way it would have caused every seal in the power steering system to start leaking at the same time and refuse to accept any further responsibility for the damage. We've trusted Faron with our vehicles for years, but he rarely does the work anymore and after this we won't be back. Another mechanic believes the kinked hose over pressured the system, which is why the hose they put on exploded and both that and even for the brief time it would have run without fluid absolutely would have contributed to the seals all failing at once. When I confronted Faron with this information and his shop foreman even acknowledging that's possible refused to do anything. When I told him he has lost a customer his response was well you won't be the first, you won't be the last. Again won't be back.
