We were alone in the restaurant minus one other gentleman but I'm not sure if he worked there and was on a break. The wall was full of hockey memorabilia which was neat to see upon walking in. The food- my gosh- some of the best burgers and fries. I wish there was one closer to where I live- it would be amazing (yet dangerous for my waistline) to have burgers and fries that close by. The burgers are moist and flavourful, the fries remind me of better Belle Province fries. They're just as delicious but less greasy. I never get anything too fancy- just a regular burger, but my fellow diners often get the Capicolo burger and they love it. They give great portion sizes and I went home with some leftover fries which I am very happy about now that I'm drooling just from writing the review... Can't wait to go back in the future.

I tried their original "Buck" burger which has a regular patty, cheese, capicollo slice, hot peppers, tomato, onion and lettuce. I also opted for a poutine, which was quite good. Not sure what makes this burger place special, it seems to be an institution and widely liked by many, but the flavors were lacking. There is little to no seasoning on the patty, and no special sauce that would help make the burger pop. It's nice that you can choose how you want you bun (steamed, toasted or dipped) however the overall meal is still a little boring. Luckily the poutine sauce was delicious, it's thick and peppery and the fries were seasoned well too. If you are expecting really thick, juicy and decadent gourmet burgers, don't get the Buck. Perhaps the cheeseburger with bacon would be a better choice but make sure to ask for mayo or ketchup as they don't come by default.

My sister was trying the ramen dog and mozzarella/hot dog. I didn't enjoy the line up in the cold, my toes were super frozen. The service is average; they rush you to make your choice. After receiving the corn dogs; you hope to find a warm place to try them. We went inside the metro to eat them. They are delicious, but since it's deep fried, you feel the heaviness of it in your belly. I was happy to try them but the experience to get them and eating them somewhere warm was horrendous.

I went on their second day of being open and for the ramen hot dog and the Gamsung hotdog (mozzarella cheese deep fried with pieces of French fried potatoes on top). Both were delicious but my favourite was definitely the ramen, it was so crunchy. You order on the right hand side of the restaurant and then wait in the line on the left hand side to receive your food (pay attention to your number as they will call it out to let you in the restaurant to pick up). Once you pick up your order you have a choice of 8 sauces. My server put a bit too much so I say less is more when it comes to sauces. They have a menu on the side with their recommendations of sauce to put on which Kogo. You also don't want to overwhelm the Kogo with too much sauce because there's so much to taste already. I put spicy mayo, mayo, and honey mustard on both of my Kogos and it was too much. The sauces were good but it just got too much. If you want to put more than one sauce, ask the server to only put a little. My friend got the volcano with chill sauce and recommends that one. He also got the ramen hot dog with spicy mayo and he said it was a bad pairing, he thought the spicy mayo would've been good on another hot dog. I also got the pineapple juice and it was pretty good! A bit ordinary but good to pair with your meal. Prices are around 4.99-6.99 per Kogo so not cheap but they are loaded so it's worth it. Lines seem long but it goes by quickly.

I usually will head into downtown to…read moreget dinner, but I was feeling lazy this evening so I did some Yelp'ing around what was near me. I found Twister Burger which was didn't have a large amount of ratings, but they had a big menu so I chose them! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right off a pretty wide street that doesn't seem like a main road is this gem. There's no private parking lot so you'll have to park on the street in the neighborhood, but I didn't have a hard time finding space. Once inside you're transported back to like... the 40s? 50s? Whenever the soda fountain era was with the black/white checkered walls, neon lights and the whole thing. Lol. It was cute. The restaurant is fairly small and that's okay! It makes for a more comfortable and cozy feel. I got my food to go so I didn't have to stay long. Service: The gentlemen behind the counter was very helpful and make sure I got everything that I needed. He also helped me since most of the menus are in French. Food: I started off with their Taco Salad, but as of now I don't see it listed on their menu anymore. Anyway, it's basically their now Southwest Salad which contains mixed greens, corn, red onion, avocado, fried tortillas and shredded cheese, served with chipotle ranch. But instead of being in a bowl, it's in a fluffy, crispy taco shell which was very flavorful and enjoyable. It worked well. The name of the place is called Twisted Burger so I had to try at least one of them. I decided on the Trio Diablo Burger which is 130g beef (1/3 lb), jalapeños, monterrey jack cheese, habanero salsa, grilled onion, chipotle mayonnaise and lettuce, and tomatoes. It kinda slid apart in transport, but I was able to put it back together at my hotel room and it was fine. Nothing super crazy or explosive to report. It was a decent burger and satisfied my cravings for sure. The beer-battered onion rings were okay too. Nothing special and I don't think I was expecting anything out of this world either. Most beer-battered onion rings taste the same, so it's good that it's a familiar flavor to recognize. Value: My taco salad was $14.95CAD, my burger was $10.95CAD and my onion rings were $4.95CAD. This is a GREAT DEAL on the amount of food I had for sure. Looking for a cheap date, something quick, nothing fancy, I dig this place for sure.

There are 2 tables in the restaurant and a couple outdoor seats. Although they specialize in pizza, the menu also features fast food items like burgers, hot dogs, wings, poutines, submarine sandwiches and pasta. We walked in and ordered a combo special, a medium size 14inch "Western" pizza, it comes with 2 cans of soda and a small french fry. The menu advertises this at a special price if you opt for the "All dressed" pizza. When we were discussing options, the employee working at the counter told us it's not just that type, we could pick any pizza we wanted. The way he said it, it made it seem like he would do us a favor and just let us pick any type at that price. Once he rang up the bill though, it was an extra $3 or so to get the toppings we wanted. The meal came up to around $36 or $38 which didn't seem like much of a "special". The pizza itself was very good, better than I expected. I was glad the toppings were generous and fresh. The toppings were distributed mostly in the center of the pizza though and not spread far enough on the edges. The fries were not good - these are frozen, boring, flavorless fries. Too crispy on the outside, not salted well. I wouldn't get them again. There's a pizza joint at every corner in the area, I didn't think Jacques Cartier stood out from the competition. We found this chain to be pricy compared to other local pizza places that offer 2 for 1 deals for example, or walk-out specials. I know other places that offer a large pizza with a carry-out special price of $15, whereas all the pizza options here are $25 to $35 min. I haven't received any coupons or heard about specials since they opened so unless they have a new promotion doubtful I would be back.
