During quarantine, I adopted a sweet little 6 month old Staffy mix that made a long journey from…read moreTexas to the PNW through a Second Chance Dog Rescue Program. I was new to dog ownership on my own (had dogs growing up and had partners with pups in the past) and was looking forward to the training part. I watched lots and lots of videos and felt that I was really finding a method that was going to suit my lifestyle. But alas...there were just some things that I couldn't seem to nail it all on my own. I found Nicole through a quick google search for a dog trainer and was excited to see that she was also based out of NW Portland. I reached out to her through her website and was excited to hear back from her the next day. My pup was struggling with building up confidence on walks. Our first obstacle was getting her down the stairs in the building on her own. I tried all the tricks in the book. I'm not kidding - after one session with Nicole, not only could I get my dog to walk down the stairs without luring her with treats, she could also now walk down the end of the street without freezing to panic as we passed other dogs/people. it seems so simple but this was a huge break through for us! After that first win, I've been working with Nicole to just continue to finesse different things that come up with my dog - i.e: not jumping up to greet new people, staying in the "lay down" command and not popping right back up, etc. I can't say this enough - working with Nicole has been fantastic. She has the right balance of tough love in her training exercises. If anything, I think a lot of the training she has helped me with has been around how I can be a better dog owner! :)

Plenty of one on one time with Nicole as well as a ton of socialization with her own dogs! She learned basic commands (sit, stay, lay down, and come) she also got trained on some extras like not jumping on people and children (OFF) as well as minding others personal space (AWAY) We also got almost daily updates from Nicole so we didn't miss our baby too much! We are overall pleased with our dogs growth and would recommend Nicole in a heartbeat!

During a recent pedicure at Angel Nails, I noticed the Zoom Room so I told my husband about it and he signed us up for a free intro class. Upon arrival we were greeted by the sweetest person and the front desk. She got us checked in and took our pup's first day photo - adorable. After getting checked in we waited and browsed their merchandise which included a lot of training treat options that we hadn't seen before. When it was time for class to begin, we got settled at our station. The trainer was kind and funny and taught us a few new things. Our puppy was very excited and interested in the other dogs but we eventually got her to pay attention to us about halfway through the class. Overall we had a good experience, but did find class to be a bit distracting with the various puppies and parents in attendance. We may consider returning for private training sessions in the future.

He has learned so much these past few months and is currently in advanced obedience, agility fundamentals, and tricks 1. We always look forward to our Zoom Room days and he met his best dog friend here as well! Such a great community of trainers and people and of course doggos. The puppy parties have been really fun as well and a nice way to connect with other zoom room members and fur babies.

My wife and I can't say enough about how Ryan and Mandy have changed our lives for the better…read morebecause of the training they did with our beagle Bumper. We tried multiple other training classes and techniques in the Portland area but none of them were able to help us with Bumper's leash aggression, pulling, and stubbornness. We were at the point where we were hesitant to take him anywhere because of how naughty he was. After doing much research and reading all of the excellent reviews, we decided to try Off Leash K9 Training. Although Ryan and Mandy were located in Eugene, we decided do the two-week course where Bumper stayed with them 24/7. We had doubts about whether or not it would work because of how stubborn our kiddo was, but he came back a different dog! No he is not perfect and he still acts out, but he is soooooo much better than before and we feel comfortable taking him out in public. Ryan and Mandy even extended his training for an additional week at no cost because he wasn't making the progress they had hoped he would. When we finally picked up Bumper after the three weeks, Ryan spent over two-hours with my wife and I to go over Bumper's trainings and commands. He was very patient and did a great job explaining everything. Yes the training is very expensive, more than I ever thought I'd pay for dog training, but the benefits of a well behaved beagle are priceless. Ryan and Mandy also run a dog rescue on site so it was great to know Bumper would not be alone. We will definitely be using Ryan and Mandy again for all of our training needs. Thank you!

She was found unresponsive in the crate she was kept in on the last day of her week long board and train at trainer Myriah's house. Our dog spent 8 days 7 nights in the ICU at Dove Lewis fighting for her life. The Doctors all suspect heatstroke; although we will never know what truly happened. The story we got from Owner Trish and Trainer Myriah is that everything was totally fine and normal until my perfectly healthy and strong 3 year old husky was found with no pulse. There's so many things that just do not align and are very suspicious. Do not trust these people with your dogs. If this story does not deter you, and you still believe these people could be your life-changing opportunity to better you and your dog, ASK MORE questions. Do not trust the professionals. Trust yourself. Ask to see where the dogs will be boarded, ask for more detailed updates about eating/drinking/potty breaks etc. , ask for the daily schedule about where they transport the dogs, what they will be trained on that day and how long they will be kept in a crate. Ask, ask, ask whatever your concern is and then make the decision to NOT USE THEM. These people are dangerous trash and should not be working with animals. Save yourself the torturous heartache we suffered. My dog will live. Yours may not.

We decided to enroll Paco in Sit Means Sit, and we are beyond grateful we did. Matt has been absolutely amazing with Paco. He is patient, knowledgeable, and truly cares about the dogs he works with. He always took the time to answer my questions and made sure I had the right tools and guidance to continue Paco's training at home between sessions. The transformation has been incredible. Paco now comes when called the first time, sits in place, and best of all, walks calmly right next to me. He no longer pulls, jumps, or walks out of control. I'm finally looking forward to taking walks with him and can't wait to continue seeing his progress every day. Huge shoutout and thank you to Paco's amazing trainer, Matt!

He was charging people and dogs while walking ONLY with me. And growling at and even attacked one of our cats, who for reference was his best friend for ages. They'd even sleep together and played a lot. I wanted Miles to get to training before we ended up with him biting someone was my greatest fear. So we picked him up on 4/20 in the morning and went over basics with Brian. Miles was EXHAUSTED for the first few days. Obviously from all that physical AND mental work. But he was immediately different. SO chill. Completely relaxed. By Tuesday of last week (just three FULL days after being home, almost 4,) I was already able to walk him and get Heel, Sit, Down and no reaction to people OR dogs passing with just a 1 tap on the remote. We started with a 3 or 4 the first few days.Miles regularly does GREAT with just this level. We went back on Friday, 4/26 for a session to follow up with Brian. We were VERY pleased with Miles progress as was Brian. We worked on the heel to perfect it and also Tie down, the leash stand and reviewed a few questions. Because Miles was doing so well, Brian suggested that maybe he'd do well with agility work. So he set him up a small course, and put him through it. Well Miles did NOT like it. He LOVED it!!! He had SO much fun. And he was doing AMAZING. He caught on SO fast. So fast rbat Brian sent us specs to build the jumps!! We also worked on high object "place." And Brian gave us lots of tips on that. With it only being 9 days since our pickup and 13 days since he started training, I'd say this was 1000% worth this training. We didn't have a BAD dog but a dog that needed some tweaks and some humans that needed help doing it. Now my husband and I look forward to walks and spending time with and taking him places. And Miles therefore gets MORE time with his people. Ellie, our daughter, LOVES doing "place" and commands with him and Jack, our son, is LOVING agility SO much that he and his dad already started building Miles jumps!!! We aren't very far into this but so far 5 HUGE stars. Thank you Brian!!! Also the office staff has been tremendous. They are responsive and kind and great at following up. 9ur entire experience from consultation to two weeks out is excellent!

We are halfway through their 9-week course now, and already feel we've received valuable return on investment. Trainers Katie and Matt have shown genuine interest in our puppy's well-being and progress. They have a remarkable ability to connect with both puppies and their owners, anticipating any of the crazy questions we might ask. The classes cover a wide range of essential topics from basic commands like sit, stay, to more advanced topics like loose-leash walking and impulse control. Wonder Puppy ensures a positive experience for everyone who walks through their doors, offering personalized guidance and support. I really had no idea puppy socialization is so important. Wonder Puppy enables a safe and controlled environment where puppies can interact and play with one another. I've already seen the value in these socialization experiences as my puppy is beginning to calm down, and to learn appropriate behaviors... most notably, how much is too much? Seriously, those little teeth and claws are really quite sharp! I appreciate the well-maintained and clean facility at Wonder Puppy. There is ample street parking in the neighborhood, though beware of the homeless camp located on the next block. Use common sense when securing your vehicles, and be sure to keep any valuables out of sight or bring them in the building with you. My husband, my puppy and I have all benefited tremendously from our time at Wonder Puppy. It's been a really positive experience, and I'm hoping the lessons we've learned will serve us for many years to come.
