She has many years of equestrian experience from childhood and up through the ranks as an adult and uses that knowledge to help beginners develop a great base on the ground and under saddle. She is also able to help the advanced riders reach their goals and she does it all with care and patience. Lindsey has the gift of being able to communicate her knowledge to her students and their success in the show ring is proof positive! ....to sum it up, in one sentence: She excels with young children, making them feel safe and at ease while providing a fun filled riding experience and challenges the advanced riders to reach new levels of success. My personal experience with Lindsey has spanned many years now! I have left my beloved Thoroughbred with her on numerous occasions and he was cared for as if her were her own and as a boarder, that's the most important aspect to look for when making a decision wherein to stable your horse. If you are looking for an instructor or trainer, please give Lindsey a call, she will spend all the time you need on the phone or in-person and will answer endless questions with a smile on her face. She will greet you at the barn with a well mannered pony or horse for your lesson or a clean stall to board your horse and I guarantee that if you are utilizing my review as a blind-faith method of trying someone new, you will not be sorry that you did!

Primarily a saddle seat barn, they've got a strong lesson program that's great for kids and adults alike. Most of their horses are American Saddlebreds, but they've got some Morgans, at least one cute Arab, a few ponies, and a quarter horse who I rode a few times for lessons. Lillian & Katie have a strong sense of what you need next, and I found that in listening to them closely and following their instructions I was able to gain skills and regain strength in the saddle post-baby, all of which was of great benefit to me. Because they're great at what they do, and they have talented horses and riders on their team, they go to a lot of shows. They went to Devon last year, as well as quite a few other local and regional shows, so if you're interested in riding saddleseat and competing, this is probably the best barn in the area for you. I found their clients to be friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed enough that I would breathe a sigh of happy relief every time I walked in, no snooty barn drama to be found here... at least not in my experience! I was side lined with a back injury for a few months after taking lessons here, and I'm thinking of going in a different direction with my riding (dressage), but I would highly recommend Rocking Horse to anyone and everyone with a passion for horses, particularly if you want to learn to ride saddle seat or if you'd like your child to start in a lesson program.
