Communication was poor with the company as we were never kept informed of what was going on. We didn't know when materials were on back order, or when they were going to schedule to get the work done. Our roof needed to be replaced for insurance purposes and they kept wanting to know when our roof would be done and I had nothing to tell them. Calls needed to be made several times before questions were answered or people responded. Messages left were never returned. The screen for our sliding glass door never came with our order so I needed to be proactive and tell them the screen didn't come. Three weeks later, they are finally sending someone out to put the screen on.The roofers did not clean up after themselves: I found shingles on my dining room chairs after they replaced the sky light. They did not remove the stickers from my sky light 12 feet up so now when the guy who is bringing the screen comes, he has to bring a ladder to take off the stickers.Ray (in charge of roofing) was extremely rude to me on the phone and never returned messages. Sam and the office staff were professional, but there was little chance of getting ahold of anyone to answer my questions who knew what they were talking about.I wouldn't really recommend them. I never trusted them to come when they said they would, call back when they said they would, or do anything else I would expect from a professional company. Our dealings with them over the past 10 weeks has been mediocre at best. This year: Used for: siding - never returned phone calls -after proposal was given, no followup on their end to schedule the work -after proposal, I called to schedule and they said "call us back in a few weeks. We should be less busy then." -Told them we had a deadline to get the work done due to HOA and it took 4 phone calls on our part to get them to actually give us a date to come do the work. -The work was "completed" in 3 hours and the workers left without saying anything. -Throughout the work, they were on the phone trying to figure what needed to be done because they didn't even know -We don't think part of the proposal was completed. -We received the invoice for the full amount of the proposal though we called prior to receiving it to determine what was and was not completed by the workers. We were told the manager would "ask them and get back to us. He never did. -We called once the invoice arrived because we were unwilling to pay for services not complete and the manager said "oh I forgot to talk to them." -The invoice isn't itemized - just merely has the full proposal amount. Shocking. So we have no idea what work was done, how much it cost, etc. The story isn't over yet, but you should stay far, far away. I should have learned from the mediocre job the first time around.

(While on my roof for the initial estimate, Kevin also noticed a seal that was dry rotted and brought that to my attention as something to fix as well which I really appreciated) So we had to replace our gutters. We switched from 5in to 6in. Every step of the process was done promptly and professionally. Every member of the team I dealt with were friendly and helpful. Even after the initial install when I needed one minor correction, I never felt worried that I was being blown off or lesser priority. I was not charged for the service until it was done to my complete satisfaction. Our new gutters are fantastic and look really nice too. And the 10 year warranty makes me feel secure that our investment was worth every penny. I highly recommend giving Joyland a chance for your next roof/gutter issue. It was our first summer in this house which had a new roof, but it was not installed correctly. Robert inspected, and then showed me with a video he took that the roof around the electric roof vent leaked water when it was hot outside but rained (such as during thunderstorms) since it was summer, but the rain leaked into roof due to vibration. Robert showed me what was happening after he inspected it (he took video), then fixed it for a fair price. Now, 9 months later after last summer, fall and winter seasons, NO problems at all. Plus, Robert installed ridge vents, repaired broken the mortar in the chimney, fixed some other problems (he showed me everything by video first and then after he fixed everything), and sealed my driveway. He even helped me install an HD Antenna so i could cut the cable TV! He and his staff are great, prompt, polite, timely, and thoughtful.
