He flushed it out, pressure tested it, and painted it black. It held the pressure for over 24 hours. No repair necessary. I told Larry that my van's heat was wimping out, and he said to make sure the antifreeze was topped up, and to call back if that doesn't fix it. Sure enough that's all that was needed. I brought a car in that we got from my in-laws. It is a 2000 Mercury Sable. Like most of the Sables and Tauruses of that time, the heater core became rusted and clogged and was not heating the car. The replacement heater core doesn't cost much, but you have to take out the entire dashboard to get to it. This was beyond my comfort level to do it myself. This heater core replacement was the type of repair I was expecting along a large bill for the work. Instead they went in and were able to do a power flush of the system. Result: heater that works, done in a day, and for a much lower cost than I was expecting. A couple of months later, I brought in my 2001 Saturn SL2 which was having an overheating problem and was leaking coolant. They found that the radiator had split and needed to be replaced. They could have completed the job in one day, but I told them it was alright to take two since my schedule was such that two days worked better for me. It was done on time and ready for me to pick up the following day. The work was done for a reasonable price and several months later, I have had no problems and I am pleased with their workmanship. I give A and B Radiator my highest recommendation without any reservations or qualifications (which is something I rarely do). read more

I read reviews online about this shop. Mostly they consisted of "I wasn't sure about this guy, but he did a good job on my car and charged me a reasonable price. He was also very quick". I had an opposite experience he took forever, never calling me to give me updates even though he (Larry) said he would. I had to give my phone number to him three times, I'm assuming he lost it each time. I almost had to push my car on him to fix it. Which I didn't understand seeing that the job costed a good chunk of change. The reason Larry got two stars from me is he gave me a reasonable price, and does good work. Sadly his professionalism is minimal at best. This is not a mechanic I would recommend to use, unless you have a second vehicle and am very pushy. read more

I have dealt with Larry for years. He always did great work for me. I gave him many odd jobs but he never complained. He is one of the most reliable radiator shop in town or anywhere. His prices is very reasonable. Like person above said, he might not call you but if you call him, he will give you updates on your parts. I just gave him a coil to fix last night and I am picking it up today at noon. With Larry, you just need to ask.... He might not always get things done this fast but he will let you know when it is done. A couple months ago, my car developed a fuel leak: I could smell gas outside the car after filling the tank - not good. I called A&B, and Larry was very helpful over the phone, explaining what could be wrong. I decided to take my car to him. After looking at my car, Larry quoted me around $525 to replace the fuel tank. I said go for it. I did not push for a delivery date since I had another car to drive. A few days later, Larry said it was ready. When I picked it up, the bill was $477. He said it was easier to do than he had thought. Surprise honesty! My take away: 1) This is an honest shop. 2) They will treat your car with respect. 3) They will not jerk you around. Great place! read more

A outstanding shop! Fixed my ac on a old 98 Chrysler. Larry was able to figure out a miswired radiator fan was the reason the ac continued to be a problem once the condenser was replaced. Could have been easily missed by a inexperienced shop. Larry was very fair on price and Bill and Mike did outstanding work on my vehical. This shop was very nice and accepting to my special needs. While visiting family in Ann Arbor, our Pathfinder broke down. We tried to get the Pathfinder in at a different mechanic but, he was too busy and recommended us to A&B Radiator. Larry did great, prompt work and even showed us what was wrong with one of the parts. We are from out of town(the U.P. I had A/C work done 6/19/17. As soon as I left I realized things were not operating properly. Finally, after two promises they said they would order a dash switch on 8/23/17. It is now 10/11/17, almost 4 months since the start and nothing has been done. At this point I wouldn't let them touch my car for fear they would screw something else up. read more
