We were referred by a friend and the service was timely however the cost was unexpectedly high for Sunbrella. Also, the cushions were or ARE oddly off in size. Smaller and do not fit the furniture . It's patio furniture but it looks odd. Point is.., we could have replaced the furniture thru Costco for the amount we paid for the reupholstered cushions. read more

A&B Custom Upholstery essentially rebuilt my chair and ottoman to be better than it was brand new. The workmanship is wonderful. Ana was terrific about taking time to walk me through fabric considerations and options and sent me home with five swatch books to play with. My every interaction with Ana and A&B was professional and organized, but my rating is four and a half stars instead of five because every step took longer than I expected. I brought in 6 chairs. 4 needed the seat padding replaced and 2 needed to be completely reupholstered. The folks at A&B were incredibly helpful in choosing just the right fabric and padding needed. . They didn't try to upsell on the most expensive fabric or services. In the end they completed the project quick (1 week), economical and with great skill. We love our chairs. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE ... STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE YOUR FURNITURE !!! Over $1,000 wasted !!! This is a family owned and managed business. After dropping off our high-end sofa along with fabric my husband and I went over the work that needed to be done with the owner. We were informed that the sofa would be ready within a couple of weeks. Two weeks later the sofa was delivered to our home. After an initial inspection we couldn't believe what we found. Seams were uneven, the tension on the tufted cushion buttons was loose on all cushions and due to an incorrect tying technique and thread the tufted buttons popped off with a slight pull. Looking under the cushions and the bottom of the sofa, multiple areas were left unfinished and the area in general was poorly finished. Furthermore, one cushion was done in the reverse side of the material and went unnoticed until we called it out. There appears to be no real quality control practices in place. We called A&B immediately. The sofa was picked up and returned for "repair". The owner's daughter was apologetic and said that the affected areas would be addressed. The sofa was redelivered to our home for a second time. Again to our surprise they simply covered over the original mistakes with new material INSTEAD OF removing the fabric and doing the job right. Again more apologies and excuses and another commitment to fix the issues. The third try was no better and after calling them repeatedly to reupholster the entire sofa our calls eventually went unanswered. We eventually took the sofa to a different upholsterer to have the work redone. That is when I got a professional's opinion of A&B's work. In short they gave A&B an "F"! The guy actually thought we had tried to reupholster the sofa on our own. I am all in favor of supporting small businesses but cannot recommend this shop. Why take a chance here when there are plenty of quality places in the area that do a better job and stand behind their work. read more

Unfortunately this is one of the few bad reviews that I have. I called this place at least 10 times to get a quote. Every time I called I was told to call back. Finally someone told me that I need to email the photos and dimensions to the shop email. I don't know why they just couldn't of told me that on the first call. I sent the photos with measurements on 4/21 and still have not received a call back or an email back. So I am unable to review if their work is good or not, as no one has ever followed up. read more

I had the same experience as a couple others. Things started off great in terms of exploring fabric options, and I spent time at home making my selections from the fabric sample books I took home. I emailed pictures and dimensions of my furniture in a very timely manner, and didn't hear back. When I received a follow-up phone call a few days later, my emails had not even been opened. When I finally received an estimate, it did not reflect all the information in my emails, texts, and phone calls. I am taking my business elsewhere. So disappointing! Based on Yelp reviews I called A&B with the goal of re-upholstering a small chaise and hoping to start bringing even more business to them as I'm an antique dealer and often need items re-upholstered. I was told to email a hotmail.com email which I did. After a week of no reply, I called and my email was in their spam. I feel a business should not be using hotmail. Over the phone I gave my measurements and was told how much fabric to buy and that they would send me a quote for the work. Another week went by and finally a quote arrived of $675! crazy high price plus the person said if I sent measurements then they would tell me how much fabric I'd need so obviously there is not good communication all around. I'm also wondering how they came up with that amount when she did not have the measurements. I will be looking for a new shop. read more

A&B Custom Upholstery is great! We sent our 2 couches to be redone about 1 1/2yrs ago but before you jump to any fast thoughts, the length of time can be explained. First the fabric was sent and it was not of the quality normally used by A&B but was put on our couches to use until new fabric could be obtained and so we would have them for the holidays. After the holidays, A&B had to move their location so another delay. Once they got set up, off our couches went again with the new fabric on order. After looking at the new fabric, Ana did not like the way it was constructed so we had to chose another. After we picked another, the couches took about 3 weeks to complete and they look and feel great. All the time, we were assured A&B would pick up the tab and make sure the couches were to our liking, this they did. So, the delay was not their fault and they made it up completely. They are a family business, much like ours, so I understand the situations they encountered and appreciate how they dealt with us. I will do more business with them as the final product was well worth the wait never once did they say, "oh sorry, those couches were done a while ago and we can't redo them!" read more
