Replaced a couple of sofa cushions and couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. This is a small "mom and pop" business in an old building but don't be deceived, very professional work. Rosario's goal is to ensure you at happy with the end result. The cushion backs weren't quite the fullness that I wanted (he didn't know what the sofa and cushions should look like because I only took in two of ten cushions. He offered to re-open the cushion and add more fill which took about 10 minutes while I waited. Perfect! I brought in two more sofa cushions because I was so happy with the first two. I love supporting small business and was happy to drive out to Santa Ana since the local small business cushion repair shop wasn't interested in additional business. read more

I found Angel's while searching for someone to make new cushions for patio furniture. Went in, explained what I needed, received a written quote, and Rosario called me when they were ready. The work was perfect. I had the fabric and he provided the labor. A couple of week later I brought him a dining chair that has leather seat and back. The construction of the seat coupled with the slick leather made people slip off of the chair. Rosario disassembled the chair, removed the springs and replaced them with webbing creating a flat seat. Again perfect. I brought the remaining five chairs and he did the same. I got a written quote, a phone call when they were ready, and I paid and picked them up. Rosario has now completed work for me on five different projects. Each one turned out exactly as I expected, and cost exactly what the written quote said. Angel's is a small shop that sometimes has so much backlog that it might looked cluttered. So what? They have completed each of my projects to very demanding requirements and the work product is perfect. There is a huge fabric store right next door, and those people will allow you to spend your whole day looking at fabric books. The folks at Angels don't sell fabric nor do they have the time to sit with you looking at swatches. If you need someone to hold your hand while you cluck cluck over fabric, this is not your place. If you want top quality workmanship in a reasonable time, at a reasonable price, Angel's is the place to go. read more

We recently purchased some nice teak furniture for our patio, however it did not include cushions. I contacted Angel's upholstery and spoke to Rosario, gave him the exact measurements for all of the cushions that we needed, and he responded back to me with a very reasonable estimate the same day. We purchased our own Sunbrella fabric and brought it to the shop. Rosario informed us that we should have our cushions within approximately two weeks, depending on how busy they were. In fact we did receive our cushions within the two week time period. We are very happy with the quality of the workmanship, and the excellent customer service that we received from Rosario. Rosario is purposefully deceptive, dishonest and fraudulent in the way he represents Angels Upholstery. We were very clear and descriptive in the work we needed done, provided pictures and exactly what was needed. He quoted us a price and lead time. Then, after we purchased everything and brought it to him, he more than DOUBLED the price stating that he now has " better paying jobs". To me, that means he has other people he is ripping off and doesn't want to honor his word and verbal agreement with us. We went and bought ALL the material for this job. He had to provide NOTHING other than labor to put it together. Unbelievable waste of time. A dishonest person running a business that is stealing people's hard earned money. There are plenty of reputable shops with great people that deserve your business. This is not a place that deserves your business. Please stay away! read more

We have used Angel's fabric twice so far. Once about 6 years ago when I wanted to re-upholster my living room furniture. and then again this past week. We found the store by chance since its tucked away in the back. After the first time we were so happy of the professional results that I saved the receipt. The second time around I wanted to reupholster the same set and called Mr Rosario who is such a kind and accommodating business man. I took the fabric and 12 large cushions to him and asked if I could have it back in less than a week. He said let me see what I can do but I can not promise. I'm so impressed with their knowledge on the fire retardants for foam. When I asked what fire retardants are used in their foam they knew the new law was no fire retardants are needed any longer as of 2015. Their prices are very reasonable. For a 45"x20" cushion, labor alone is $60. My sister's used them many times and her furniture looks fantastic. read more

This is the second time I have been to Angel's Upholstery. I was lucky 4 years ago to have found them and I had them repair some outdoor cushions. He was so accommodating back then as I just wanted to repair some tears in 4 chaise lounge chairs (due to sun damage). I didn't want to re-cover all the cushions because I loved the fabric. They did a fantastic job and have held up despite the fact that my cushions are outdoors, by the pool, and are used by teenage boys! I had such a great experience years ago that I saved the receipt and called him again when I needed to recover 3 chairs. Angel was amazing and so knowledgeable. I had found some really unique 1960's modern chairs and Angel had great advice on the type of fabric I needed (needed to have some stretch in it because the chair is really irregular). Going next door to A-1 was so convenient and they were so helpful in guiding me to various fabric choices. Great experience and so impressed with Angel's knowledge and craftsmanship! read more

If I could give negative reviews I would. Rosario one of the workers here at this upholstery place quoted me a price after showing him pictures of the work that needed to be done then when I bring in all the supplies washed and ready to go to where all he needs to do is sew in the material he then proceeds to uncharge me by $160 because he misunderstood my photos that I showed him and the diagram as well. I doubt he misunderstood anything I said I couldn't have made it more clear to him what I needed. This place will rip you off and after evaluating the work they have done to previous orders I'm glad I chose to do it myself. Much more worth it for such a simple job. read more

We have used Angel's Upholstery twice over a long span of time. The first time was for a dinette set that we bought in Tennessee in 1969. The chairs had stainless steel swivel bases, but the fabric had faded. The second time was maybe 20 years later for a set of 6 teak dining room chairs that needed new fabric on the seats and backs. Between visits, Angel had taken over the business from his brother or uncle or father, forget the relationship. But the same genuine craftsmanship both times. On both occasions, we took a chair in to Angel's shop, where he took measurements, did some calculations, then told us the quantity of materials we needed to buy. He also gave us an accurate estimate for the work. We went out his door into the back door of A-1 Foam & Fabrics, shopped around, found material we liked, bought it, and took it back to Angel. Then we made several shuttles to take the chairs, a few at a time, to Angel's shop. It may have been a few weeks for each set of chairs. You don't have to buy the material from A-1, but it's very convenient, and they seem to have a good selection, also at reasonable prices. Angel's shop was small and very cluttered, but our furniture was handled with great care, and really looked good when it was finished. The reason for posting this now is that we are thinking of buying a used piece of furniture and getting it reupholstered, and looked to see if Angel was still in business. Luckily for us, he is. So if we get the furniture, this will be our third time going to him. Glad to see all the other reviewers giving this business 5 stars. Thought it worth adding a description of how convenient it is to shop here. read more

This is a very professional business & we greatly appreciate their skill at putting new foam in our couch back cushions, that our dog had crushed, transformed into looking like new. When we saw the cushions all we could say was 'amazing, wow, unbelievable'. Rosario is very pleasant & helpful, so if you want it done right for a reasonable amount, this is the place.
