Recently we went back to select sconces for our bedroom. The items we ordered were not in stock and delivery was delayed four months after purchase. The sconces were not as we envisioned. When we returned them, within one week of receipt, we were told the 60 day return policy starts on the day they were purchased not the day they were received. Although not listed anywhere on the paperwork or order we were told it does appear on the website. Crazy policy, as how is it possible to determine if the item is acceptable prior to receiving it. This fellow is terrific. Can do just about anything and superbly too. Robert (ably supported by his son) fixed two gates that had not been working properly, assembled a chair, TV stand, and birdbath, got our old TV working properly again, affixed two large mirrors and a clock to the walls, and precisely measured, placed our pictures and artwork throughout our new home. He's intelligent, professional, super kind and understanding, and charges an acceptable amount. I showed him around the house and talked to him about my wiring needs for every room except the kitchen, which had been done by a licensed electrician a year earlier as part of a kitchen remodel. As we walked around the house, he said he was going to rewire the kitchen, even though it had already been done. He didn't really give a reason. I took him to the crawlspace after that where he discovered some questionable wiring. A week and a half passed and still no quote was sent to me so I contacted Joel and 2 to 3 days later spoke with Michael, who called me to say he would have it the next day but it ended up coming a few days later. The quote was at the high end and just a lump sum with very little detail. I responded a few days later with an email asking for detail and a breakout of the kitchen that I didn't want to pay for twice but didn't hear from him again until the following week. Communication was very poor. Because I was new to the area I posted on the NextDoor app asking people if not receiving any detail with a quote was a common occurrence for Western NC. Many people responded that it was not and that they wouldn't accept a quote like that (I did not mention 828 electric in my post). When Michael finally called me after days had passed once again, he stated that providing a lump sum without detailed parts and labor was the way they did things, and no one had ever asked him for more detail (apparently I was the first in all the years they'd been in business). I found that hard to believe but didn't really know what to say. He said that he wanted to rewire the kitchen because of the questionable wiring in the crawlspace but when he told me he was including the kitchen in his quote, he hadn't yet seen the questionable wiring so that was patently not true. He continued the call in a this is "my way or the highway" tone instead of looking for a middle ground regarding detail. Of course I didn't use them and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

The people that work the front desk are very nice and helpful, but to get to your consultant takes an act of congress. My consultant is either sick, on vacation, out of the showroom for training, or "catching up from being out of the office". Over and over again. Repeated emails, calling the showroom to speak with someone else only leads to them giving your consultant a message to call you which is not prioritized. It can take weeks to get a response and get your choices ordered. I didn't want to buy from Lowes or Home Depot bc warranty work is hard to deal with (in my experience). If you order from Ferguson online, you are at the mercy of contract delivery and installation people, so you have to go through the showroom. Thank heavens my appliances are all ordered now - painful process. I only dealt with one showroom consultant and it may be different with others. The delivery manager, after a snafu with scheduling for the first delivery and in response to my survey results, personally called me and gave me his cell number in the event I had any further deliveries - which I did and they were seamless.
