I'm not picky on hostels, kitchens small and little things but quality of rooms and breakfast is okay. My concern is safety, I told the hostel that me and my friends were followed and stalked by a man who was just hanging around the hostel for hours. When we left to go out for a drink, he followed us in the tram. He was consistently staring at us then started taking pictures of us. We got off early and he then got off on the next stop and hid in a bush, to where he ended up showing up behind us again. We ended up hiding in the subway, he found us so we ran to more people, we're a group of 5 girls in our late teens and 20s, so we were terrified. This isn't really the hostels fault, what is is how they handled it. I told them early in the morning and they told me to come back later when a manager was present. I did a few hours later and they made me wait for 30 minutes, taking people who arrived in the line after me, before me. When I finally talked to someone they seemed annoyed, and gave me the impression that they believed I misread the situation perhaps. I took a picture of the man and they gave me their email to send it to them, and said to let them know if he comes back. I understand they can't do anything to find him, but maybe assurance that he can't come back, or at least an attitude that they understand how dangerous this could be would have made me feel more secure. I feel brushed off, I'm on vacation and I spent two hours running and hiding from someone, and then an hour trying to tell the staff about it only to be brushed off. Perhaps they take it more seriously than I realize, but I didn't get an impression that they were concerned at all. I'm very frustrated with me experience and don't feel secure here. read more
