I thought about educating him regarding both federal and California law pertaining to service animals but I'm sure his high school teachers tried to reach him as well to no avail. She attempted to get my wife's attention to let her know the register was open, but at that moment my wife was briefly on her phone trying to download the Smart & Final app and did not hear her. Instead of speaking up politely, waiting a moment, or assisting other customers, Blanca snapped her fingers directly in my wife's face to get her attention. This was extremely rude, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable--especially from a member of management. We have been shopping at Smart & Final for over 25 years and have frequented this specific location since it first opened, as we live just up the street. In all those years, we have never experienced behavior like this from any employee. That made this incident especially disappointing. Snapping fingers at a customer is disrespectful and not how anyone should be treated while shopping. Management should be setting the example for professionalism and customer service, not doing the opposite. We would appreciate hearing from Smart & Final corporate regarding how this situation will be addressed and what steps will be taken to ensure customers are treated with respect moving forward.
