This station has been around for years. Back when I used to intern! I remember every year they would do a count down to the best song of the year on new years eve. The winner every year was "stairway to heaven" from Led Zeppelin. (which I always agreed with LOL). The Eagles "Hotel California" and The Who's "Baba O'Riley" were always in the top 5. Kcal has revamped itself from strictly playing classic rock to playing a mixture of new & old rock. And Jimbo has become a household name. I remember when he used to come into the record store that I managed to look around. He always had tall, busty women with him. I guess Kcal isn't the only thing that has come a long way! HA! Mandatory metallica at 10, rock n roll bingo, buzzwords with Stew, Tiffany & Jimbo and your morning stiffy. (I'd go with Stew with the buzzwords) :) KCAL ROCKS! read more

Ok, check it out. My name is K. Mark. I have been listening to k-cal for over 30 years. I live in L.A. I know, i am sorry too, but that is the good example of what NOT to listen to. I have worked at the rock station there and talked to producers, program director, etc. The format will remain the same through out past and future years. Even told them they should listen to 96.7 k-cal. Because after answering 2 years of phone calls in L.A., the majority of requests, stories, etc, they need something different. Repeat everything until you cant stand the song. There are plenty of songs that guns and roses wrote besides "welcome to the jungle". I could go on about L.A. music, nope, it bores me too much. I"m just sayin. Thank you K-CAL for putting me in the right mode right when i get out of L.A.'s frequency, and into yours. You rock! read more
