That did not stop the office from being even more hairdressing, they had the audacity to bill me for an older visit, which was a free consultation visit. They have also been asked 2 times in writing using the legal request form to send a copy of my file to me and another dentist, to this day they have furnished that. If this dentist has rude, taunting and ignorant receptionist then I would not use them. If this dentist wants to bill you for a service/visit you never signed for then I would not use them. They asked me to text them back either the billing zip code or the primary subscriber's Social Security Number. Because texting an SSN is a massive data security risk, and waiting a full year to process a claim is incredibly sloppy, I left a review calling out the delay. The owner immediately responded to my review with a blatant public lie, claiming they had called and text blasted me "throughout the year trying to get this fixed" but that I had ignored them. Fortunately, I have the receipts. I uploaded screenshots of my text history with this office proving that every single communication they sent me over the last year was an automated marketing push trying to get me to schedule a routine cleaning. When I called the office to confront them about this, the receptionist looked at my file and completely contradicted the owner's response. She admitted their internal records show they only attempted to contact me about insurance ONCE in August 2025, and then sat on it for nine months until today. It gets worse. When I spoke to the manager about why the owner publicly lied on Google and blamed me for "ignoring" them, his actual defense was: "Maybe if you answered when we called for a dental cleaning, we would have asked about insurance too." Expecting a patient to telepathically guess that a routine marketing call for a cleaning is actually an urgent insurance issue is completely absurd. Instead of taking accountability for a massive back-office delay and fixing their dishonest public reply, management chose to double down on gaslighting. A quote for my treatment plan was provided and thoroughly explained to me at that time by Alyssa. Unfortunately, upon contacting the clinic after completing the required medical clearance form, I received conflicting information regarding the cost of my treatment and me stating I need all treatment done same day. Despite asking for the amount twice for all treatment from the staff, I was provided with a different amount over the phone, less, compared to what was communicated to me upon arrival at the clinic. I was then given a new version, which I assumed to be identical to the plan discussed during my initial consultation when they asked if I brought my treatment plan and I said no. Upon reviewing the initial plan after payment, I discovered discrepancies in the quoted amounts. At that point, I felt compelled to proceed with the treatment, despite concerns about the accuracy of the charges, as my mouth was already numb, and delaying the procedure would have significant implications for my health as I can't afford to be off my medication for an extended period but ending up will still having to find another provider elsewhere to complete treatment that was not provided even after relating over the phone and at appointment several times. I am deeply disappointed by the service provided by the rude administrative staff at Sun Ridge Smiles. Instead of taking accountability for the discrepancies, they attempted to shift blame onto the GEHA insurance representative with whom they had spoken during my initial consultation. I was seen by a female dentist who initially discussed the possibility of doing a retreatment on my tooth. However, as soon as I questioned the possibility oh my tooth being broken, the conversation quickly shifted toward removing the tooth. I requested a second opinion from the owner. While waiting, my spouse overheard the receptionist speaking out loud about me to a dental assistant, saying, "Oh well, the doctor doesn't do retreats, he likes to pull. He's going to pull!" followed by, "Don't worry, I'll talk to her." Hearing that staff discussed me this way was incredibly unprofessional and made an already stressful situation even worse. Throughout the visit, I felt pressured to proceed with an extraction. The following day, I spoke directly with the owner and explained that I did NOT want to lose my tooth. I wanted to explore every reasonable option to save it and requested to see a specialist/endodontist. Instead of being referred to a specialist, I was again encouraged to proceed with an extraction, which I was told would cost around $3,000. The owner got defensive when I told him the female dentist had said the reason the last root canal they did failed was because they didn't seal it correctly, in which he replied "i don't know who told you that, I see it right here and it sealed" and then, "ALL ROOT CANALS FAIL," and that seeing a specialist would be more expensive. What concerns me most is that I never felt like saving my tooth was genuinely being explored as an option. I questioned whether all appropriate steps had been taken to determine if my tooth could actually be saved. I am SO grateful that I trusted my instincts and went to an endodontist for another opinion. My specialist determined that my tooth was healthy enough for retreatment and that I did NOT need an extraction. I was able to save my tooth for less than then the cost of the extraction only. Based on my personal experience, I strongly encourage anyone being told they need an extraction--especially when the tooth may potentially be saved--to seek an independent opinion from an endodontist before making an irreversible decision. God bless my endodontist and shame on Devine Dental! I'm convinced they push for extractions so they can stay number 1 for dental implants.
