On a tight budget, I needed to find replacement for 2 of my old, high maintenance vehicles. No way I'm buying a new car and SUV. Forget high payments, high interest, and high insurance for 5 years. So, I came to 905 Auto Auctions. I've been to auto auctions in the past. Most experiences were okay. When I was here on Tuesday (auto auctions are Tuesday and Friday here), I was very impressed with the staff here. Friendly, great attitude, straight forward, and smiles! They all made me feel comfortable, even with me asking (probably the same questions they hear every day) them about what and how their auction works. I came last week to get a feel. This time I was able to make 2 purchases. What makes 905 also stand out, is that they let you borrow the key for the vehicle you want to look at (they hold your license), and let you check out the vehicle. Of course you can't test drive it, but now you get a chance to make a better decision than if you had gone to a different auction (some places won't even let you open the hood). I highly recommend this place. The auctioneer is bilingual and caters a bit to the huge Mexican clientele, which makes sense, but he does do enough English for the non Spanish speakers. I'll be back for sure. read more

I didn't believe the reviews felt like I had to experience the place myself and now the one star total makes complete sense definitely some illegal stuff going on here I was somehow outbid by thin air and the price I bid for was bumped up a thousand plus by the thin air and once I "lost" the bidding I was then offered the car still by the auctioneer on the way out they don't try and hide it they are completely scamming if you aren't apart of their family I would completely avoid this auction and save yourself the time read more

Terrible service. They are the company that takes care of auto donations to several charities. They don't process things like they promise - you have to continually call to get the release of liability completed. On another note the tow truck driver was very nice and on-time. read more

This business conducts scams. They have their auctions on Fridays from 8:30 until 4:00 p.m. problem is if you like a car and you start to bid on it the people that work for them in civilian clothes will bid you up till you can't afford it then that person will drop their bid and someone will come to you and tell you oh the person just backed out retracted their bid do you still want the car? Then offer you only $100 off whatever that person bid. We actually bought a car but of course drove it home and it overheated. Most of these cars look nice on the outside but the motors are messed up. The one we bought had no lights on on the dashboard we stuck the diagnostic tool and to see if there was anything wrong and it said no there was everything was fine. But it's still overheated. If you want to buy a car from these people you and make sure you bring $5,000 with you opening bid starts at $200 but they have people there driving up the price. UPDATE: they sold us a car with a cracked engine. Even if you have a tool to test these cars like we did there's still things wrong with them check the oil check the antifreeze literally check everything you can check before you buy it from any of these auctions. read more

Worst experience ever my stereo was missing after car came back no interest from the employees when they put my car up for sale was about five seconds and it was gone because it was not a donation they get their money without an effort the next car was not even running and they pushed and pushed how great it was overall bad experience! read more

I donated a car but ended up not agreeing with how the donation process would occur so I requested to take it back. They took the car to this place and would not allow it to be released. I had someone that wanted to pick the car up and offered a notarized letter for the person to pick up the vehicle with but they said it couldn't happen for another week and they wanted to start charging me $25 per day for storage. This place is trying to "protect themselves" by doing this. It is a ripoff. Do not use this company! read more

0 stars if I could!!!! I've been going every Friday for 3 months in hopes I can get a bigger car for me and my son and every time it's some damn bullshit! Today was the last straw for me. I bid on a car for 3900 and everyone stopped bidding the auctioneer guy forced this couple to bid me 50$ higher to get me to go to 4K I said fuck you !!!! If no one is bidding why force someone else to bid higher then me ???? They're selfish fucking people. Money hungry ass fucks it's already bad enough you gotta pay an extra fee when buying a car!!! I think they need to learn the rules of an auction you place a bet then those bidding chose to keep going higher and whomever the highest bidder is gets the car!!' You shouldn't be allowed to FORCE someone to go higher just to get the other person to go higher. I WILL be calling someone because they're doing illegal ass shit! read more

905 Auto Auction - Auction Houses Near Me - San Diego, California

Stay away from this place If you donate a car of value - they don't take care of it. It sits in dirt lot until auction. Car gets very dirty. If you donate junk - this is a good place for that. Recommend you sell your car - then donate money to father Joe's. This way you know your car of value goes to a good place. read more

This place caters to their own friends and family. They will purposely miss your bid in order to give their friends the cars for cheaper. This is not only not fair to other buyers but also to their Consigner a. If I could give no stars I would. read more

Don't ever go here. I went to this auction thinking it was a great place to buy cars. I saw the scam happen before my own eyes for the 4 hours they were auctioning. The main guy in the middle is the taking the bids and I saw him take hundreds of bids that never happened. I purposely sat In the back so I can see everybody. There was not a single person bidding and the price was being run up. 100% scam of a business... please listen to the reviews and STAY AWAY! read more

Not everyone speaks Spanish they don't tell the rules in English they laugh and joke in Spanish about the ones that don't speak Spanish very unprofessional so then they can screw u over because they said everything in Spanish read more

Called at 4pm asked if they were open receptionist said yes until 5 drove 30 minutes down there once I got there asked if I can go in to look at cars and the guy was like "well are you going to buy a car?" Obviously if I went down there for a reason the receptionist said "no we aren't open to the public right now to see a car it's by appointment only." So tell me why you guys are open till 5pm then? so I can drive all the way down to make an appointment only to return for my appointment the next day? They don't have any type of customer service what so ever and are super rude they don't know how to talk to customers when the receptionist spoke to me she didn't even stand up from her dest to look at me or anything do not buy any vehicles from here they don't deserve to be an open "business" save you're time and money. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. They sold me a car saying i had to spend on it very little money which it was a great deal. Few hours later i discovered that the whole engine has to be replaced cause of a blown head gasket. In a country based on the reviews hopefully this one can help people to understand how these people are non-professional and double-faced. Hopefully this my very bad experience with these "professionists" can help you to avoid this people/place. read more

They purposely have hidden bitters in order to enhance the price on the bids. I have seen the same cars and people bid on them . It's a sham to get more money on sales and I do not recommend anyone else to try this place.. read more

Avoid this place! They sold me a car listed as "clean title" when I won the bid and took the paperwork to the DMV they informed me it is in process of being a "salvaged" title. When I called 905 the lady that answered was very rude and just pointed out that they are not responsible for that. I asked "then why even advertise the title status?" the lady had no response for that and directed me to the contract. I asked for at least the fees that the DMV was charging me to process the "salvaged title" since it was supposed to be a clean title vehicle and 905 refused. I have contacted the BBB and filed a complaint. Avoid the hassle of dealing with them. I wasted time & money. They have shady business practices. Stay away. read more

This auction house was a bad experience most of the cars here are donations and if your is not they charge a flat fee . This is why when junk cars come to the auction block they make a tremendous effort including crowd barkers that open the hood and doors and try to generate some interest. When my car came up hardly a word was spoken Year and make any offers lets move on 30 seconds tops. I realized they did not care to sell because they were getting a flat fee no matter what! To make it worse when I came to get my car the stereo was gone and the heater knob was removed. When I asked they said maybe I had left it at home.Long story short avoid this auction! read more
