My family and I came in for dinner without high expectations, and had a wonderful evening.
I was a little wary of this bar and restaurant because hotel restaurants are often below average. There were lots of positive reviews online but those can be faked. The restaurant doesn't have a strong presence from the street, so you might not think to come in casually.
In fact the positive reviews are spot on: both food and service are outstanding.
We ordered garlic prawns, the house salad, pickled salmon, a Margarita pizza and a sea bass entree. To our surprise the chef brought us a gazpacho amuse-bouche to start. It was spicy, topped with cucumber foam, and served with an anchovy breadstick. This was a great start, and got me much more excited about the food yet to come.
All the other food turned out to be excellent too. The bass was served in small crispy fillets, balanced with potatoes, greens, roasted tomatoes, and aged Parmesan. The salmon was beautifully presented and complemented by olives and onions. The pizza was the real deal, with a blackened, flavorful dough. The prawns were good, although more conventional. My favorite was the salad, which had super fresh vegetables and incredible dressing (charged with pumpkin seed oil).
The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. This is a hidden gem in the Zillertal. read more
