In 2017 we had our whole family together in Kauai. We tried to book a photographer while we were on the island - last minute - to no avail. With whole family gathering on the Big Island this last July, I was determined to plan a photographer ahead of time. But, finding a professional photographer via the internet felt a little bit like the proverbial "shot in the dark". After reading many reviews, I settled on 808 Pictures because of the great reviews and the great value they offered. Still, it makes you nervous when you don't know anybody personally that has used them. It was not long before my fears began to fade and my confidence build. They are great communicators and put you at ease as soon as they engage you. My primary contact was Grace. She laid out what my options were and what to expect leading up to and during the photo shoot. All with a wonderful aloha spirit - friendly, engaging, and stress free...which was good because on the day before our photo shoot, a huge fire broke out in the hills above Waikoloa. Grace stayed in contact with me - keeping me from going into panic mode. She assured me that our photographer, Maile, who lived near the fire, would be there for us. Maile met us under skies that had cleared at A-Bay beach just as planned. She, too, stayed in touch with us on the day of the photo shoot and everything went off exactly as planned. Maile did a great job of working with our large group - 11 adults and 5 children. We had "several" cocktails at Lava Lava Beach Club while waiting for the photoshoot to begin and Maile rolled with the punches as we were all having a great time! I used to do family pictures quite often when the kids were younger, so now that they're older - The kids don't like having their pictures taken and pictures are very cherished at this stage in my life. We've been to Hawaii several times before, so for this trip I just really wanted some fun family photos. I found 808 Pictures while surfing the web! I really liked some of the fun pictures they captured. From the very beginning when I inquired about their service and their prices, they were extremely helpful and very prompt in replying to me. That spoke Volumes! When we met Mark the day of our photoshoot, his misdemeanor and calming personality set the tone for our pictures. We had a great time. There were 12 of us all together. We had taken pictures at the beginning of our trip so I wasn't expecting to get them back until after we got home. I was pleasantly surprised when they had returned our pictures. I am incredibly impressed how detail oriented our experience was from beginning to end! As a detail oriented person myself - they covered everything we could think of without all the back and forth questions. 808 Pictures was easily the best experience with a photographer to date!  Choosing a photographer can be daunting, but I am so glad I stumbled across 808 Pictures.  The Office Manager, Grace, was wonderful to work with - she coordinated the scheduling, payments, provided suggestions on locations and tips for the photo shoot, through delivery of the photographs.  Our assigned photographer, Mark, was super personable and very talented at his craft.  My two young girls are very shy but he went out of his way to make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience. It's been awhile since my husband and I have had professional photos taken and what better place than beautiful Hawaii?! I searched online for photographers and found 808 Pictures. Their website provided more than enough information for me to feel comfortable in my decision. From the moment I completed the contact form through receiving our pictures, the communication and service was beyond expectation. I wanted a location close to our hotel so we wouldn't have to take too much time away from our vacation. They made a suggestion and provided example photos so we knew exactly what to expect. On the morning of the shoot, we happened to be out of our cell phone service area. We recently visited Kaui for my husband's 65th birthday. I wanted to commemorate this occasion with a couples professional photo shoot. I chose 808 Pictures from several others I found on line and boy, I am glad that I did! The very first response was quick and professional which put my mind at ease since I was doing this online. Group of 9, two families, with teens. Both couples were celebrating 25 year wedding anniversaries and a 16th birthday with a first time for everyone trip to Hawaii. We wanted pictures to capture the celebrations and our trip to Maui. Looked at many photographers before picking 808 pictures. I plan to book with them again. The booking, payment, scheduling, photo selection process and communication was very easy and seamless. Amazing value for the price! Graham was perfect for our group of teens, no cheesy, say cheese lines, calming go with the flow yet keep things moving presence. Graham made our whole group feel comfortable, which isn't an easy thing to do with 5 teens, 2 grumbling dads, and 2 stressed moms, offered great suggestions for getting beautiful photos and poses and configurations we wouldn't have had if it weren't for his suggestions. From the very first encounter with the staff of 808 pictures via email, I knew our family would be in good hands during our family photo session in Maui. They were super friendly, speedy to reply to all of my random emails before our travels and were sure to provide very good directions and details for our actual photo day. Mark arrived right on time and made our whole family feel very comfortable with all of the action shots he took. Our family of 9 went to Hawaii in August for the first time. We really wanted to have professional beach pictures done. Most of the professional photography studios on Maui and Kauai were prohibitively expensive. Then, I happened to see an ad for 808 pictures. They were affordable and appeared to do good work, so I booked a 45-minute photoshoot on Shipwreck Beach on Kauai. During our 2-week stay on Maui and Kauai, it only really rained once -- right at the time our photo shoot was scheduled. Our photographer, Keala, was wonderful! She was willing to reschedule our shoot a couple days later and the weather was beautiful that day! She took absolutely wonderful pictures and suggested types of pictures that I hadn't even considered that I was happy we got. My family and I used 808 Pictures because we wanted to capture some memories from a wonderful family vacation in Oahu. Our photographer Greg was wonderful, and we were very pleased with the end results. He did a good job of communicating in advance in regards to meeting spots and times, etc, and showed up promptly. I originally paid for just 30 pictures but ending up buying the entire set of images because they all came out great. Greg knew exactly what time the lighting would be perfect at the beach, and did a great job of capturing our group of 7. Sherwood Beach was the perfect spot, and we took some pictures in a wooded green area and some on the beach. Twelve years ago, my husband and I got married in Maui. We went alone so I knew that I wanted photos that captured every beautiful moment. When my husband knew we were headed to Maui, we knew we wanted some amazing photos to bring back with us. I reached out to Grace at 808 Pictures and she immediately set us up with Davin. We initially chose the Ironwoods location but parking was an issue so Davin suggested the next bay over at Kapalua Bay which was even more perfect with the amazing sunset. On a recent family reunion and celebration holiday in Maui, we had the good luck of having arranged family and individual pictures with 808 Pictures and Graham the photographer. It could not have been easy getting 10 adults and 13 very excited children ranging in age from 2 to 13, to cooperate for the pictures. Graham was extremely friendly, punctual, had the utmost patience, and was not rattled when trying to get good shots of the children. So I don't even know where to start with 808 pictures and our photographer Davin. We had our 5 year anniversary pictures done and we wanted views, sunset, and beach, but not just beach, we wanted it to look like Hawaiian sunset beaches. Davin had all the perfect poses and absolutely stunning shots. Our package included 15 shots and he had 125 shots I believe and it was so hard to choose because they were all just amazing. Also 808 pictures (Grace) was so responsive when we had questions and responded very quickly. Everything about this company was A+ from start to finish. We were recently in Kona to celebrate our Dad's 80th birthday and we used 808 Pictures for a photoshoot on the beach of our family of 16 that were there to celebrate his milestone day. Grace was easy to work with and made the recommendation of a sunset photoshoot at Old Kona Airport Beach for our session. It was the perfect spot, the colors and landscapes were stunning. John was our photographer and was very professional, kind and patient but most importantly he took great photos.
