Great place to sign up to. Julian is a cool guy to work with and east going. He is a great trainer if you are looking to get started with boxing or MMA. He helps you understand what you are doing and does his best to make sure you have the ability to move on to the next workout without exasperating you. He is good with adults and kids. This was my first boxing class and it will not be my last. I came here with my cousin because he had a free pass for a person. Inside, it's a big space but they utilize most of it with the punching ring, an area with large, hanging punching bags and another area with mats. It does not smell by the way. Note that I took the kid's class because I was with my 11 (10?) year old cousin. We started warm up with stretching, jump roping, practicing 1's and 2's then 3's and 4's. Then 5 push ups to end. It was a really fun class (it helped that the music was awesome) and the instructors were friendly and helpful. I was sweating buckets and yet, filled with vigor. I definitely want to come back here or get into boxing. This is amazing. read more

Agoura boxing is great. When I started here I did not know anything about boxing and starting was fairly intimidating but the instructors and other students have been really helpful in catching me up and teaching me the ropes. They also do sparring on Thursdays. They really accommodated me because I did not want to get hit (especially in the face) so I was able to throw punches without having to worry about being hit back. The classes are a great workout. I always leave the gym drenched in sweat and feeling amazing. read more

I met Martin (Agoura Boxing's owner) years ago, when he was the boxing coach at Golds Gym and when he had more hair. (Sorry mate). A short time after he finally started his own place I had to follow. Agoura Boxing caters to all levels and ages, whether you are training for Golden Gloves or if you just want to shed the last 5lbs, this is the place for you. For the beginner, this is a "real" boxing gym with all the tried and true tools of the trade, speed bags, double ended speed bags, heavy bags, mitt work and the jump ropes. They have loaner gloves for you to use, but I highly recommend you buy your own equipment. There is no shortage of experienced and knowledgable coaches all under the watchful eye of Martin. You'll find that there's a community feeling, with an ever expending group of members. Older members are always open to sharing the knowledge base and contribute to your learning and work out experience. New members are made to feel welcomed, you won't be thrown in at the deep end, you won't be lost in the shuffle. There is never the pressure to train beyond your abilities but that doesn't mean you won't get the work out of your life. For the experienced boxer, MMA fighter or BJJ practitioner, this is a place to visit. I can't say enough good things about this gym, it is a special place. Knowledgeable, friendly instructors have created a fun positive atmosphere. The membership is a community of people helping each other get into better shape. The workouts are intense but doable. This is my second time coming into this gym consistently (first time for 3 years life intervened and now I've been back for 7 months). Both times I've gotten in much better shape. Martin (the owner) keeps things fresh, constantly mining the fitness world for exercises,drills and techniques to get the members in better and better shape. Make no mistake this is a boxing gym and you will learn how to box . You will be surprised at the physical feats you can accomplish if you work out here. Came here for a good time. Brought my own vodka and recreational pharmaceuticals. Spent most of my time in the bathroom which was above average from what I recall. The air conditioning didn't seem to be working too well and there was a lack of bar stools. The servers were busy and sweating a lot. There were a couple of people fighting in the corner in a pugilistic manner. The owner seemed cool but he talked funny. Australian I think. Kept myself to myself mostly as everyone seemed busy but I had a blast. Will definitely go back. Maybe with friends if I happen to make any. read more

There's better options in the area for even cheaper. The gym seemed ok, but the boxing was lacking, I don't appreciate paying a 20$ day fee and having to do 50 minutes of working out and only 10 minutes of actual boxing. My advice to this gym is teach boxing in a boxing class!!! If I wanted to do a group fitness class I'd of Gone to a regular gym. Don't waste ur time here. read more

I've lived in the midwest and on the east coast, and Agoura Boxing is the best gym I've come across in years. You get every penny's worth of your work out and you get results. Every time I leave that place I am drenched in sweat and in pain. The good kind of pain. I dropped fifteen lbs. training there before my wedding and friends asked me if I was on P90X. The coaches are extremely patient and welcoming. At the same time, they know exactly how to push you. The Gold's and the 24 Hour Fitnesses of the world have a nice open format and long hours, but to me they are just too impersonal and I never get the results I want. Ultimately I always feel like I am paying a high price tag to use a treadmill and a few machines. At the end of a long work-day, having a guided class makes a big difference. The 5pm class is for youths and beginners and the 6pm class is for adults. However, no one is discouraged from attending one or the other depending on what their schedule permits. The coaches don't give you more than you can handle. My final plug for this place is that it is a great community gym. Most people know each other by first name and it's often a family affair. I have started taking my young son to the 5pm class. The gym is a good confidence/character builder for young boys and girls. My son and my wife both like to join me for the Saturday morning circuit training when they're able. My wife particularly loves the circuit training. She's done all the workout videos and has had personal trainers, and is sold on the full-body workout. 5 stars for Agoura Boxing! read more

Great boxing gym. Martin the owner is a stand up guy with a ton of knowledge. I have been going here for a year and a half and have learned a lot. The gym has a full size ring and quite a few heavy bags. We are short of any gyms out here so it is nice to have such a quality gym so close by. All of the instructors here are great. Not sure where to start but this is all round an awesome gym. Definitely an old school approach which is probably why it is so popular. Great trainers and atmosphere and very laid back. Martin (the owner) is a down to earth guy with a ton of knowledge and experience. Its a great gym to lose weight, get him shape and make some awesome friends...sadly i moved further away from the gym, but when i was living locally i was there 4-5 days per week. Very addictive....for those that have never boxed before, you really need to give yourself at least 3 months to get your body used to the type of movement and training! My kids and I have been going to Agoura boxing for 6 months. I like the facility and the instructors. It has plenty of equipment and a full size boxing ring for sparring. Not only can you learn boxing, they have kick boxing classes and Jiu Jitsu. It is a great work out and amazingly fun. In the past when working a program it was easy to look at the clock to see when the class was done. With Agoura boxing I'm never looking at the clock as the training is hard and challenging but fun. The instructors do a great job with the kids as well. I can't recommend Agoura boxing enough for both exercise, fitness and self defense for adults and kids. read more
