I'll do this review in two parts, the general experience with the company and the agent that is specifically helping me. Off the bat, they were very quick to get back to me and contacting them was seamless. This company is easy to work with and very responsive. The agent that is helping is Eric Castanares. I cannot speak more highly of him. Eric is very informative and goes the extra mile when trying to meet my needs. I appreciate the fact that he followed up with me via phone and email. My situation is complicated, but Eric is researching for me and keeping me in the loop, I really appreciate that he is explaining what is happening at every step and that he sets a realistic expectation of things going forward. Scam. This business uses deceptive marketing to imply that that are the same as Covered California. They attach signs to fences in Daly City with only their phone number and the Covered California logo. This is false advertising. I really can't believe that this place is in business. The agent I dealt with was predatory. If you are interested in getting health insurance and the place is advertising Covered California, they should not be the one to decide what kind of insurance package you get. That is exactly what happened. The agent used fear tactics, talking about cancer and her brother and how he was so sick etcetera. to justify refusing to give me straight medical insurance without a supplemental insurance to go with it. She even tried to tear up. I started my career as a sales person. I know this game and it's just that, a game. The agents probably get commission off of selling the supplemental insurance. I could not believe that the agent absolutely refused to help me because I didn't want the supplemental insurance and her reasoning was she didn't want what happened to her brother to happen to me. I don't know the laws are around this but the level of manipulation going on in just my 15 minute visit with her should be against the law. It was highly unprofessional. They should not be able to advertise Covered California here. I feel really bad for people who are getting taken advantage by this place. Please go online and know you rights, do not go to this place expecting them to want to help you with Covered California. They want your money and as much of it that they can get. read more

I wish I could give them no stars but unfortunately I can't. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service here. Cons: Employees will give you misleading information about your policy Employees do not follow up with phone calls or emails (I made 12 phone calls and sent 6 emails-NO RESPONSE) over the course of 1 and a half month. Please STAY AWAY from this place. You will regret getting a policy from them. I worked with someone name Arely who did not follow up. She started ignoring all my calls and emails while we were working together, this is highly unprofessional. We regret ever giving them out business. We now have AAA with rates that are half the cost. If you do get help, ask for Aracelie (spell check?) she is the manager there and will at least be honest and try to help if she can. read more

I went here a few months ago to see my options and hoping to get information advice regarding health and dental care. I was advised to speak with Lourdes Mary Dugrenier who is a "certified" agent. Before my appointment I had prepared my notes and questions to ask her. When I had arrived to my appointment on time and asking a couple of questions and she told me I had to call my dermatologist to see if the type of medical care that I was going to choose associated with my present dermatologist; to make a long story short 15 minutes during my appointment the response Lourdes Mary best advised me was "You are wasting my time and I have to take my lunch now." My best advise is not to have this certified agent deal with anyone and this type of unprofessionalism is out of line especially when trying to ask for guidance when it comes to having the best health and medical coverage. It is so sad because some of the staff member in the office were professional and nice; except for Lourdes Mary who is the ONLY "certified" agent there who's job is to help and guide people with Covered California. read more

I went here to get some information about Covered California. Mary gave me her life story of her brother so I would pay more. She knew what I could afford and what hospital I wanted. But she failed to tell me that I would see two charges. One for the insurance one for the supplement. Then she suggested I get IShield for identity theft. She said it was 9.99 a month and I told her I would think about it and do it at home. Mary said I have to start the process here for you and email you an activation code. NO ACTIVATION CODE WAS SENT AND I WAS CHARGED! DO NOT SEE MARY FOR COVERED CALIFORNIA! She takes advantage of people, doesn't listen and shouldn't be selling ANYTHING!! read more

If I can give zero stars I wish I could. The worst in customer service. I am a customer and been with the company for one year. I wanted an insurance agent to search for better rates. He told me that he will email me with rates within the two weeks. No email. I called the second time and the insurance agent told me he will call me in one hour. Did not receive not a single phone call back. All they're interested is getting new customers. They can care less about the they're existing customers. These guys really are worth all the hype. I had a busy day trying to gather a new insurance policy, re-register my car, and release it from a tow yard. As much of a nightmare this was, Gilbert and the rest of 800 insurance saved me one of the many headaches I was expecting. Gilbert locked me in on a basic rate with the best prices, was very friendly and helpful, and even took care of contacting the DMV for me. I had an issue where the DMV website wasn't recognizing my policy number and NAIC number, which Gilbert was happy to help me with. He kept suggesting new numbers and combinations to try to no avail. Eventually I had to contact the DMV who in turn hashed it out with Gilbert and once they called him, my problem was solved. I bought a policy with Anchor General which turned out to be a complete scam!!! My car was in an accident and they have failed to do any investigation or provide me with a rental or body shop for months leaving me without a vehicle!!! When calling them to inquire about coverage they sent a request for information even my wife doesn't ask for claiming it is normal course of their investigation. Not sure how all my credit card, bank receipts, phone records, messages, medical bills for a months duration have anything to do with an auto accident!!! I had been going back and forth with various companies, trying to find the best rate and agents that weren't pushy and just trying to get a sale. I walked in and met Dave and I inquired about auto insurance at first, then we got started talking about other services they provided, Dave helped me out with my auto coverage by saving me tons of money and life insurance. After that, I then inquired about other services, since I was there already, he then introduced me to Tom who specialized more in what I was looking for, retirement. I'm young but, these days, it's hard to save and Tom was able to answer all my questions and help me.
