We order the family combos regularly when hanging out with friends, and it's great for sharing. The chicken and ribs are both juicy and the combos come with pita bread. The green sauce it comes with is a yogurt based cilantro sauce with a hint of spice. I love the smokiness of the meats from the grill, and each bite makes me want to go back for another. There is some seating inside but we've always done take out, and the staff are cordial.

Recently we decided to order a whole bbq chicken and rack of ribs with 4 sides. It was around 5:30pm but I was informed that it would take well over 90 minutes in order to fulfill my order. My family and I drive to Bell Blvd to kill time abd when it was time to pick up our Chicken Livers order, I was informed that the bbq ribs were not ready and that they ran out of mac n cheese. My family was famished so I decided to cancel the rack of ribs and go with another whole chicken and instead of the Mac n cheese I opted for another side of broccoli. The. Chicken was delicious as usual but not getting the bbq rack of ribs really left us feeling very disappointed. Fast forward 2 weeks and my family was hankering for bbq chicken and ribs. Instead of ordering ftom Chicken Lovers we opted to order from Danny's Grill. I know there is some history between thje 2 places. I think the owner of Danny's Grill used to be affiliated with Chicken Lovers. DG is on Bell Blvd a few miles south around 73rd ave and is a small place but they crank out tons of delicious bbq chicken, racks of ribs and chicken wings and other yummy food. The best part of it was my order of 2 whole bbq chickens, rack of ribs and 4 sides was ready in about 20 min tops. Plenty of street parking without worrying about getting your car dented by some idiot in the small crammed parking lot out of of Chicken Lovers. Next time you're in the mood for BBQ, check out Danny's Grill and don't forget #2 always works harder than #1!

I was a little overwhelmed by the menu as it was my first time even trying Halal food, but the service rep behind the counter was very helpful and patient. I ordered the fish over rice, fish was excellent. Very crispy, seasoned well to taste, but the rice was a little bland. One of my coworkers got the lamb over rice with no fixings and she loved it. She's a very simple eater, so she didn't need any of the sauce, it was perfect without it. My other coworker got the chicken Gyro with all the fixings. She said it was awesome, I couldn't take a picture because she ate it in her office. Lastly, my other coworker decided to get the fish like me with all the fixings, and she was very happy. Everyone agrees, we will all be back to have lunch here again. Not particularly crazy about the location, but we came early enough that there was sufficient parking. 10 out of 10! Would definitely recommend and come again !

We were seated right away in a dining room that's separate from the bar, which made for a more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the start. The Portuguese wine was great at just $8 for a generous glass or $25 for a bottle. For apps, we started with the cold lobster cocktail $24 and lamb chops $25, both packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. For our main, we had the steamed lobster $28, which was fresh, tender, and delicious. Everything was done just right, and the prices across the board were very reasonable. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back!

My sister and I started with a chicken soup, which was actually really good and one of the highlights of the meal. For our appetizer, we ordered the grilled octopus. It came cut up in an olive oil-style sauce, which is different from how I'm used to having it served. It wasn't a favorite. For the entrée, we ordered a mixed meat platter (steak, pork, chicken, lamb, Portuguese sausage) with mashed potatoes and spinach. The food was very hit or miss. The lamb, chicken, and pork were good, but the steak was tough and chewy. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box, and overall the food lacked seasoning--I had to add salt and pepper just to bring out flavor. My sister did enjoy her Hennessy sidecar. I will say, the bartender was nice, which I appreciated. The biggest issue was cleanliness. The bathroom in the bar area smelled very musty, it had a urinal, toilet and a dead water bug next to the toilet, which was extremely off-putting because it is next to the kitchen. I reported it immediately. The second bathroom in the dining area was cleaner but clearly outdated. Even with an "A" grade posted, that experience raised serious concerns. To make matters worse, on the way home I developed stomach pain, heartburn, and I had an allergic reaction--I had to take both antacids and Benadryl. After that, we ended up throwing the food away--what a complete waste of money. To be honest, nothing was taken off the bill despite reporting the issue. Another thing to note: they charge more if you use a credit card and less if you pay cash, and this was not clearly disclosed or posted anywhere that I could see. Overall, this was not a good experience. Between the lackluster food, cleanliness concerns, how I felt afterward, unexpected charges, and lack of accountability, I will not be returning. No Bueno!

There's often a short wait, which isn't surprising given how consistently packed the dining room is. The brunch menu is stacked with crowd favorites, and the music always sets the vibe--something you can really enjoy while you eat. But the food? Phenomenal. The fried catfish was seasoned and fried to crispy perfection. The turkey wings were tender, flavorful, and cooked just right--fall-off-the-bone good. And the yams? Sweet, rich, and perfectly seasoned... honestly hard to stop eating. The macaroni was rich and satisfying, and the potato salad is always a standout for me. For dessert, I had the chocolate cake--and it was exactly how I like it: moist with real, creamy frosting that doesn't miss. The brunch sangria was also a hit. I mixed red and white, and it was smooth and refreshing. Portion sizes are generous, so you definitely leave satisfied. And Danny, the owner, really sets the tone--he's always present, checking in with guests, jumping in to help the staff, and clearly running a tight operation. Nettie's continues to be the go-to spot for soul food--consistently good, every time.
