In the middle of the dessert, nobody accepts apple pay and the gas station wouldn't accept a credit card over the phone. Not only did the gas station give me $20 of free gas to get home, but they offered me water and food on them...and then, while trying to figure out my plan, I heard a knock on the car window. A woman I'd never met, reached out with $13 cash...saying that the woman in the station told her what happened and she wanted to make sure I had cash for an emergency. I am floored by their kindness. I was moved to tears by their unquestioning support and generosity. Please help me to make them feel the gratitude and faith that they gave me yesterday. (I was the slightly panicked, curly haired brunette driving a white Mitsubishi Mirage). And if you're ever in Kingman, stop by and support their business.

If you happen to find yourself in this sticky situation (like the lovely ladies at the pump on the other side of mine) I suggest to use the Exxon Mobil app for your card payment. It worked wonderfully for the ladies! I also am a major advocate for their rewards program but I won't blabber on about that bc I'm not any sort of legit ambassador The worst part is I was SO excited to let my pup out at the dog park they advertised on the sign! I get to the back & the "park" is all a patch of just dusty dirt very huge downside to provide such a poor quality nicety. If you're going to do something like that, do it good ! please set up a donation box inside for funds to be rallied up for some turf!!!! This is one of the first spots you come to when you arrive from the Vegas side, and they certainly know that. They know you may not know there are much better and much cheaper alternatives ahead, so they're going to charge you for it. As others have stated, they may advertise a similar price on the sign as other stations, but if you go to the upgraded fuel grades, they can charge $1 or more to go upgraded and you'll end up regretting it. If you're going out on 40 towards Phoenix, you can avoid the entire trap by just getting onto the 40 and then exiting in Kingman proper. We saw loads of reasonably priced gas stations there. Plus there are much larger travel centers, and this is a very small and not well-maintained c-store. I only had to refill half a tank so I wasn't as shocked as I could have been, but I wish I would have just kept driving. You should keep on driving.

I've been a customer at this gas station for years, but after this evening, I won't be coming back…read more I stopped in to grab a coffee for my teenager as a treat for a road trip we were leaving on the next morning. When I asked the woman at the counter where to find the coffee, instead of offering assistance, she immediately told me to "zip up my purse." There's a sign on the door about backpacks, but this was my personal purse--not a backpack--and I was standing at the counter asking for help, not loitering or acting suspicious. I'm a well-presented, educated woman with a decent job, and it was both insulting and condescending to be spoken to in that way. The assumption made about me was completely out of line, and her dismissive attitude when I was simply seeking help was unacceptable. When I finally found the coffee with help from another employee, the same woman started questioning my teenager about if the coffee was for her and what she needed it for. The coffee was for a road trip the next morning--not that it was any of her business. I expect better from a business I've supported for years. I won't be returning, and I hope management takes action to ensure customers are treated with the respect they deserve, without judgment or assumptions.
