PROS: Very affordable parking that's open all hours of the day. In the middle of Boston which makes it very convenient and it also has a lot of nice businesses around. CONS: Very tight on the inside around the turns. look maybe this was my fault, but I think it was just how it was handled. I decided to park in this garage since after 5 PM, it's an $18 rate. It was convenient. It was near where I needed to be. So I got back to the garage. I had my ticket and I paid for my ticket. For some reason, my ticket was misplaced in seconds. Of course it fell in my car and I was trying to find it, but I could not locate it in the amount of time. It was already late and I was alone so I didn't want to be stuck searching for my ticket which was somewhere near by but I couldn't find it in the right moment. I retrace my steps to see if I did drop it and asked the office manager but he said you're gonna have to ask help through the garage management. so as I was trying to leave, I asked for help and I let them know. I don't wanna say I lost my ticket, but I just cannot locate it, but I know it's in my car. The guy came out and met me, but instead I was charged for the loss ticket which was $43 on top of the $18 so it was $61 lost for a faulty mistake. I was hoping in this moment, I could get help with reaching for the ticket which was under the wrong seat but instead was just charged the amount. So yes, I did find my ticket 20 mins later in my car but I was not gonna drive back to the city. I called them the next morning and said I can send a photo but they immediately shut me down of saying you left the garage, you paid for the ticket, no refund. I asked even if I found my ticket 15 minutes after leaving, could I come back and get it voided and they said no. I know I could dispute it cause it was a loss of $61.00 but I'm writing this for them to say I think this could have been handled way better given the situation. read more

I've parked here many times before and today I was charged $43 for 1 hour and 3 minutes of parking. I thought that it must be some kind of a mistake, but it wasn't. Apparently it's $28 for 1 hour and after that it's a flat $43 for the rest of the day. If they actually had a posting of their pricing outside (isn't that a requirement in Boston?) I would have obviously not made the mistake of parking here. My issue is the lack of notice - they can charge whatever they want and customers use the garage at their will. This was an unfair "bait and switch" and I will not be parking here ever again. read more

Pretty sketchy place, at least in regards to the parking attendants who work here. I purchased a parking spot via SpotHero. I got into the garage and everything went smoothly until an attendant told me there were no spaces left except for attended parking and he then directed me to a spot, handed me a velvet ticket and I was on my way. Cool, no biggie. I returned to the garage and realized my valet ticket had fallen out of my pocket at some point. Once I told the same attendant, he laughed and said, "Well, for you that will be $100 in cash if you want your car back." I said, "No. I've already paid for this spot." He said, "Well you have a (blank) you can afford to give me $100 if you want your car back." I once again refused to be shaken down, and he started to pet my 4 year old child on the head. Fortunately my car doesn't require a key and I have access with my phone so I grabbed my child and headed out of there as quickly as I could. This place employs thugs who enjoy shaking down and intimidating people, even with small child around. Stay away. read more

I have parked at this garage several times, late night. It is convenient and easy to find, located near Quincy Market and many Irish bars in the area. When entering the garage they do a quick check of your trunk and then you are on your way. Never had a problem finding spaces in here, it is well lit and clean. Golden elevators up to street level. Never run into any problems. Parking rates on nights after 5 pm and weekends are a mere $13. Well worth it after a long night out on the town and for the safety the garage provides. read more

Why the bad reviews? This is a super convenient, reasonably priced, secure and clean parking garage. Our experience based on booking via SpotHero, multiple times, multiples years, have always been good. Driving in and out through the gate, is easy, straight forward and just fine. And the walk through the building lobby, is absolutely gorgeous! Got scalped for a parking space here. Reserved a space online and gave my plate number and got charged triple in the long run. When I came to the gate they were too cheap to hire someone and found out was locked in and had to pay again because there was no one to talk to though I had my receipt. Used their parking facility and I regret Parking here. Parked on Saturday and the weekend rate for all-day is $18. After 3-4 hours returned and paid for the parking at the kiosk (street level) and in few minutes while exiting the parking facility, it was again showing I owed $18 for parking. It was really frustrating. Called the number listed there and the phone rang in the nearby booth where no one was there. Had to pay $18 second time to exit. Such a faulty system, they have. Why have a payment kiosk at street level if they cannot sync properly with the one at exit. Now I have to waste my time explaining to them or call the credit card company just for parking here. I would give it nothing if I could. I usually don't write reviews, but since it was the worst experience I've ever had, and probably the rudest attendant I've ever met, I feel like I should. I booked parking on spot hero, but when I got to the garage, the entrance scanner wouldn't scan the QR code, and there was no attendant in sight, plus a car was waiting behind me, so I took a ticket and thinking to deal with it later to not block traffic. I called spot hero, they said it should be fine since it was not my fault that the scanner wasn't scanning QR code. So as I was leaving the garage, of course the scanner wasn't picking up the QR code again, I pressed the help button, a very loud and rude voice came through, before I even explained what happened, he started yelling "you made a big mistake!" He repeated this about 4 times, very loudly. And I started explaining what happened, and he just kept on saying you made a very big mistake very loudly accompanied with sarcastic laughter, and kept on saying, "you should pay 43(garage rare), not 29(spot hero rate)", and then tried to tell me I need to pay another 43. I eventually was able to leave after 20 minutes, but I gotta say it was a very bizarre experience. read more

Definitely will be my go-to parking garage for future weekend trips into Boston. Probably one of the cleanest parking garages I've ever been to, very well lit, and quick elevators. The security on site made me feel like my car would be safe, but at the same time was not overly obtrusive. The biggest plus for me (using it on weekends) were the low rates. Coming in on Saturday morning and leaving Sunday early afternoon was $17! The rate signs that were up show a significant jump for weekday rates. The actual entrance is right off of State street, which resulted in a second loop around the block as I missed it the first time, but definitely worth it! read more

Nice, warm, and well lit. Everything you look for in a garage. Nice: it's organized. You have your level, then there are a couple sections- each one has a letter assigned to it. Not confusing at all. It's clean, and well maintained. The elevators don't smell like dump even on the weekends, late at night. It's "secure" they check your trunk upon entry, and there are an awful lot of cameras in this place. Warmth! Yessss! Even with tile floors for days (lobby level, tap dance your way out!) this place is warm enough to make you not want to leave! This is the brightest doorway on State Street. So even if you get 'faced at the bar, like a moth to the flame... Oh, and did I mention it's fairly inexpensive? It's fairly inexpensive. read more

With the elevator construction complete, back to my original review: As far as garages go, this one is quite good. For $100/month, you can get overnight parking (4pm - 8am plus weekends) You don't have to have your car searched if you're an overnight parker The garage itself is the best I've seen in Boston. I park at the Ritz once or twice a week and dread pulling into the dank underbelly of the towers. 75 State is well lit with plenty of spaces and fast elevators. Plus you walk into and out of a nice marble clad lobby. I'd give it 5 stars except their daytime rates are kind of ridiculous. If you wake up late and pull out at 8:30 with an overnight pass you have to sit there for 5 min while they reset it and pay $16 to get your car out. 0 - 20 min = $7 20 - 40 min = $16 40 - 1 hour = $24 1 - 1:20 = $32 1:20 or longer = $36 ... So you pay the same if you're there for an hour and twenty or all day. The weekend parking rate of $14 isn't bad. So the daily rates are a bit of an annoyance but as long as you get in and out when you have to it's probably the best deal on parking in the city. It "feels" very safe and, again, it's well-lit and clean. It's not a huge empty garage, there's actual people on staff at the entrance 24 hours a day. read more

I'll agree with the previous poster about the service at this parking garage. It's top notch. And considering it's location - what do you expect? Your car is guaranteed to be safe here. Not to mention the fact that should anything happen to it, be it a flat tire or a dead battery... The helpful and attentive staff will go out of their way to get you rolling again. The one downside (and it's quite a downside) to this garage is the pricing. In the time it takes to both sneeze and blink, you'll be paying at least $29 for parking. I made the mistake of parking here once for a job interview, thinking it would be convenient. Job interview was maybe an hour, tops. Add in the walking time, and you're looking at an hour and 15 minutes. I came back and had a parking bill of $31.00!!! Moral of the story; be sure to check the posted rates for this garage. It'll set you back a pretty penny, but otherwise, this is a great place to park your car. read more

Good location. Obnoxious security guard. When we attempted to return to our car, the doors to the pedestrian entrance were locked. We tried all of them. So we decided to walk down the vehicle ramp - despite the signs warning us not to. There was simply no other way in. We were met by a security guy who put his hand up and said, "This isn't an entrance." I replied, "I'm sorry, but the entrance is locked." He laughed and said, "No it isn't." I assured him it was. He then got angry and said, "No it's not." I replied, "Yes, in fact, it is." He laughed again and said in a louder voice, "It's always unlocked. 24/7. I'd lose my job if it were locked." I replied, "Well, it's locked." He got mad again and said, "No it's not. I'm trying to tell you it's not." And I said, "Well why don't you check it." He replied smugly that he doesn't have to check it. I said okay, but it's locked. Finally he let us pass. But not before shouting at me that it wasn't locked. It was locked. But you know what? Even if I WERE wrong, he should have politely said he would check. Instead, he was a jerk. Avoid this place if you can. read more

Best garage in Boston, its clean, modern, safe, and secure. Security is at the entrance to the garage and in the lobby of the building if I was worried about getting robbed or having my car stolen this is where I would park. There are even Boston Cops working late at night on the weekends Its expensive during weekdays but nights and weekends are OK. Sometimes there are lines waiting to pay the cashier when leaving which I really dont get as there is only 1 cashier and 3 exit lanes/toll booths. The State Street Garage is far and away the best garage in town, not only because of location but also because of security. That said I entered at 457 PM after an attendant inspected my vehicle and when I exited a few hours later discovered I was charged the full $40 rate.
