Honestly, I was bit skeptical about our switch here since the reviews were mixed, but luckily found an appointment with Dr. Bourg (I think that's how it's spelled) and was pleasantly surprised by how well everything went today. My daughter had to get a filling and cleaning done and we were rescheduled for later this month to do cleanings for my other three children. The doctor and staff were able to accommodate us today and get all kids scheduled for cleanings as well so they were all done together. Everything went smoothly and I was very happy with their services provided. Dr. Bourg even gave me a call to make my eldest was doing alright after her filling.

I had just had rotator cuff surgery and was not in any dental discomfort at the time. I decided to get one of the crowns done. At the time I was quoted a price of 450.00 for my share. I paid 450.00 the day of dental work but about 6 weeks later I was told I owed another 275.00 because the insurance company would not cover the crown. I was surprised because I had had the policy over a year {long enough for a rate increase}. I felt mislead but still offered to pay half. Staff said no I should have read the small print on estimates. I am a senior living on Social Security, 275.00 is a lot of money. I had been a long term patient.

Having recently moved…read moreto the Baton Rouge area, I was able to make an appointment for an exam within a few weeks of me calling, which was great as someone who has had to wait months before after a move. I was told I would need to have an exam first before I could schedule a cleaning (a practice that is still a bit odd to me, but I know this is standard for certain cities); a little annoying, but it's only for the initial visit. I was lucky to be able to schedule my cleaning for the very next day at the end of my exam! All of the staff that I interacted with were kind and pleasant to talk to, including the dentist and hygienist that I saw. The exam and xrays were very thorough and I felt I was in great care. I will be returning to Babin Dental for my 6-month cleaning and exam!

They give you a treatment plan and talk about pricing before they do anything and everything is very easy to understand. I'm no longer anxious about the dentist. I can't wait to come back next month! Dr Starr was my child's dentist and he completed the fillings did not check the bite and stood up and said we needed to find another dentist because he was traumatized. Really? He did not finish the work, discharged him, the office said they can drop a patient at any time for any reason. The office manager stated there are two sides to every story but did note there were no notes in the system as to why he dropped him and did not complete the work. I was in the room and there was nothing done on my child's end except raising his arm when he was in pain. Pitiful excuse for a dental office. I would not recommend anyone go here!

During my most recent call today, 30th of May, 2025, they informed me that I would need to wait until December to see a dentist at their facility. Any one who faces a similar dilemma needs to realize this- you deserve better! A six-month wait for a new dental patient is a clear sign of poor planning or overwhelming demand, but from a patient's perspective, it's simply unacceptable. Dental issues don't pause -- what starts as a small cavity can become an infection, and untreated gum disease can lead to tooth loss or impact heart health. Delaying care this long risks preventable damage, worsens conditions, and fails the basic duty of timely medical access. No matter the reason, making someone wait half a year for essential care is not just inconvenient -- it's irresponsible and dangerous. Luckily the next place I called was in Baton Rouge and was able to take me the same day
