They have great booze at good prices. But when I ask for a specific bottle and the wife of the owner is giving me words of if I damage a bottle they can't sell it. I bought one and told her if I do I will buy it. She had her 16 year old stock boy try to eyeball me and act like a tough guy. He was 5'4". I was not worried. But what bull shit. I dropped $500 and would had dropped more if she wasn't an ass. Sorry would have bought 2 or three bottle to take home. But will not give them more money. The way she acted 2 stars is too much. Terrible customer service/ relations. I purchased 2 bottles of the wrong type of dewars for Christmas gift. When purchased I asked if it could be exchanged if wrong type ( there are many options of dewars) Went back to exchange for correct type. No go manager would not offer or discuss at all. So I left botes with them. As I have no use for them at all. But for sure that is the last purchase I'll make there. Several better choices near by. This is a terrific store with a solid selection of wine, beer, and whiskey. I always make it a point to stop in on the way into LBI. If you are a bourbon lover then you'll certainly appreciate some of the outstanding store picks they have. I stop in frequently and was very fortunate to have picked up their store picks of Eagle Rare, Weller Full Proof, EH Taylor, Old Forester, Willett and Stagg and they have all been excellent. Really big beer and liquor store. I can fault NJ for many things, but the ability to go to a single place for all your alcohol needs is not on the list. The line can get very long (especially with social distance), but it moves fast as there are multiple registers. Lots of craft beers at all price points. If you drink beer and can't find something you like, then you have issues. They also sell ice, but it's in the chest outside, so be sure to pay for that before heading out. read more

For those complaining about any of this*, you clearly haven't tried to buy overpriced beer in any city recently, or you'd be singing this buy-rites praises. I've been coming here since it was in the weird blue building across the street, and not a whole lot has changed since then, including the prices. The selection is massive, as mentioned the prices are super reasonable, and most importantly, they keep the lines moving even when it gets outrageously long during the summer. I love this place. Every time I am heading to LBI, I stop here and stock up on booze. Prices are some of the I have seen, at least for wines that I like. They give you case discounts and always offer to help carry you purchase to the car. There's a cute little man there on Friday nights selling outrageous loaves of bread, so fresh and delicious. They frequently have wine tastings, etc. Last week Jesse Bongiovi (Jon Bongiovis son) who owns Hampton Water Rose was there. He was super nice and added a lovely true Jersey vibe to this place. I've been buying beer, wine and liquor from this particular Buy Rite for about 6 years now while vacationing on LBI for the summers. This store has a large selection, friendly knowledgeable staff and the best prices I've seen for scotch and whiskey (which is mostly what I buy and am very familiar with pricing). I assume their pricing is good across the board, but I don't buy enough other liquors to give a knowledgeable comparison. For example Johnnie Walker Green Label is $60 at Buy Rite, but $72 anywhere else, if you can even find it. JW Blue Label is about $180 at Buy Rite but $192 - $200 everywhere else. JW Black Label is $35 at Buy Rite, but $40-$42 anywhere else. Bulleit Rye Whiskey and Bulleit Bourbon is $27 at Buy Rite but $32-$35 anywhere else... etc. Aside from pricing, they have a very sizable scotch and whiskey selection, which is soon expanding to include an entire Rye section because of how many different Rye whiskeys they carry. Beer: they have a large selection, both cold and room temp. Whether you're looking to grab a quick 24 pack of Corona Light for the best price you've ever seen, or a speciality 1 liter small batch micro brew from some place you've never heard of - they have it. And it's the best price. Wine- they have lots of it, but I don't know enough about it and pricing to tell you whether it's a good deal. I'd be willing to bet it is though. Check it out! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. I buy my kegs of beer , wine and hard alcohol from this place. The owners and workers are always friendly to me. Reading through some of these yelps are crazy. I've been going to this place for years and NEVER had a problem. Something stinks really bad when someone says the are returning a bottle of Pina Colada a few months back and they buy there every summer. We know this is a seasonal area. Come on man!! You post you bought it a few months ago.... Now do the math ... You had your blender out in March mixing Pina Coladas in the cold...I DOUBT IT. Price and selection is great, but I would be remiss if I didn't comment on the service and attitude of the staff. This is by far the crankiest, least friendly and sometimes down right most nasty staff in any business I've ever encountered. Responses to basic questions result in glares and annoyed grunts while you're left wondering if they answered you at all they just go about their business (which is usually leaning against the counter). It's sad because this is quite contrary to the attitudes encountered at their other Manahawkin and Barnegat locations. read more

Surly service. Don't go here. They don't want your business. I have been buying kegs of beer here for two years along with refill CO2 tanks. Today I came back with a CO2 tank that ran dry after 1 keg (they usually last for 5 kegs.). I don't have any leaks in my system. When I explained to the man behind the counter ( same man I always deal with) he was rude. I was simply asking if there were problems with some of their tanks and would he give me at least a partial credit. He said no and actually told me to go somewhere else. I definitely will not go back. Unfortunately this place has lots of business because of their location on Rt 72 East. However there are many other stores. Please don't patronize this one. read more

This is a must stop for me every time I'm on my way to LBI. It's located right on 72 and the selection here is pretty massive. Bonus points for having Kona Longboard bottles. Prices are pretty reasonable and they have almost everything. You see many people with shopping carts at this place. I'd recommend stopping here before you actually get to LBI because you'll keep a few extra bucks in the pockets. I was disappointed to see they don't sell "ping pong" balls. This place had a very large selection of wine beer and alcohol. If you can't find what you are looking for here I would actually be suprised. They even had two limited edition bottles of jack Daniels that I was never able to find before and bought them for my girlfriends collection. The prices were pretty reasonable not the cheapest but, a lot cheaper then some of the little liquor stores in the area probably because of how large it is and the volume that they have. The line piles up though and they have only 1 or two registers open so you may be waiting in line for a little while not more then 5 minutes or so. If there is two of you have one sit in line while the other grabs what you need. It's quicker and easier that way. They also have ice here for 1.50$ which is really cheap so if not for anything else come here for ice. read more

DO NOT GO THERE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE We used to go to this store every summer since they opened the store. We bought bottle of Pina Colada mix few months ago and we just found something black inside the bottle - so when we went there to buy beer and drinks and ask them if we can exchange this bottle since we saw this black spot and were concern that something growth there. First they told us they don't carry this brand - but we found the same brand bottle on the shelf, when we went and showed it to the manager he said that we don't have any proof that we bought it there since we don't have the receipt. We told them that they are the only store we buy from. He went to check with the other lady manager behind closed door and came back with really nasty attitude. The lady manager came out and again told us that they can not exchange it. We did call the factory before and they told us to go to the retail store that we bought it from. They both were very nasty to us - told us that we lie - and refuse to take care of the problem. We left all the other drinks that we were planning to buy and left . This was not about the money - since this bottle is only about $5 , but they preferred to loose a customer and not take responsibility on a damage mix that we know we bought there. SO WHO NEED THIS ATTITUDE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN THERE ARE OTHER STORES THAT TREAT YOU REALLY NICE.
