The worst experience I've ever had with an internet provider. I would go anywhere but here but my apartment building doesn't allow it. When I call I just get told they will have somebody else call me within 24 hours. I'm paying money for a service I'm not receiving. If possible I would literally choose a whole different apartment just to avoid having them as my internet provider. ​ read more

I've been with them for 10+ years now and my equipment is all still original. Meaning my router is outdated. The internet is slow. I pay extra for local news channels and majority of the time they aren't available. They keep raising my price each year and taking away channels. For what I pay a month, I expect better customer service and better equipment. read more

I really don't understand the bad reviews. They are, by far, the best internet company I've ever used. Their internet speed is crazy good and they installed it for free. I recently started having random strange issues with my internet, so I called a couple of times to work out what was going on. They were incredibly knowledgeable and walked me through the process for several solutions. When the issues continued, they offered me a new modem. When they found out I currently have no vehicle to pick up the new modem, they had no problem finding a solution for that, too. They said they'd try to have a tech come out and swap it for me. No joke, roughly an hour later there is a knock on my door. It was really confusing, but when I looked out the peephole, it was Mike, their technician. He is a sweet gentleman and he was also who initially set my internet up. He did all the technical parts of switching to the new modem and I was up and running in less than 10 minutes. I was astonished that someone came THAT DAY and only an hour after my call! 702 consistently goes above and beyond. I reside in felton, so when I read these reviews it's funny to me because none of you probably took the time out of your day to actually look up what the problem actually was. Secondly, if you did most of your problems could be handled on your end, but you did have the time to write pretty awful reviews which is baffling to me. This internet provider is awesome, I get up to 200 mbps - 300 when the times are different. Good price, & the main guy even hooked it up with extra because I'm currently in the process of learning code and cyber security stuff. So with that being said, you guys should actually take 10-30 minutes out of your day to actually try and assess the problem instead of just blaming your ISP. Thanks! read more

I've been with 702 Communications for two years. I elected to try the internet and satellite tv bundle. The internet was supposed to be 100MB download and 50 upload. I routinely had to check my bandwidth and discovered on WiFi I was lucky to get 45 download and rough 30 upload. I called multiple times and they constantly reminded me that WiFi would show significant drop in speed. I understood this but that was a pretty dramatic loss. The only reason I choose this company was because the apartment we rented mandated that we use 702 or a second company that had even worse reviews. The customer service at 702 was not very good. They always seemed upset if you were having a issue. My package included dish network. I had dish when I moved to the unit and I wasn't able to keep my receiver because the satellite installed at the unit had not been updated with new technology. When the installer saw my box he explained I was taking a step back in technology with the box 702 had to use and boy did I. Overall this isn't a very good communications company. I was paying $158.00 per month for both internet and satellite. read more

Stuck with them because of limited options at my apartment building. My internet goes down for several hours at least once a month and, since I work from home, this causes a lot of issues for me. They also once cut off my cable service because their employee misread a work order and it took them nearly THREE days to get it fixed. When I called on day two to find out what the status of the "repair" was I found out what actually happened and was placated with a measly $5 credit on my bill & no apology. In fact, their customer service rep's response to me was "there's nothing I can do about it, so you'll just have to be patient". Cannot wait to move & take my money elsewhere. read more

I got connected with 702Comm thru my working with the GoMoorhead project (2005) to provide wireless internet access thru all of the Moorhead Minnesota area, I was one of the testers for the GoMoorhead project. Quite a while later the City decided not to continue with it (not due to 702Comm)...people were already getting wireless thru the cellphones, so GoMoorhead was banging heads against cellphone provided wireless, plus city-wide (Moorhead MN mostly has buildings only a few stories tall) lack of tall buildings to have the access points mounted on. I started going with 702Comm ADSL internet right after GoMoorhead folded up. There have been a few issues from time to time, which were properly dealt with, beginning with my needing to replace the phone outlet in the wall which lowered my service. 702Comm has been a very decent service, with decent support! I know SOME people will complain about my stating that FACT, yet fact it is and the fact is quite plain if all you do is think about how many satisfied customers 702Comm has verses the tiny number unhappy customers. A MAJOR problem with service like 702Comm's ADSL service is that it relies on the cable installed in the build, if the cabling is NOT made up of TWISTED PAIRED WIRES than the signal will not be anywhere near as good, then you add in if the cable was run near noisy equipment...etc., none of which is 702Comm's fault nor responsibility! Good Service! Good Support! Good Pricing! I wanted to give 4.5 Stars, but this site only provides whole Stars, subtracting .5 Star for not having a long list of ADSL modems we can use with this service (since there are different ADSL formats). read more

What kind of telecommunications company has business hours of 8AM-5PM, Mon-Fri. They do not even provide tech support after those hours. If you have a problem after 5PM, or god forbid, on the weekend, you are pretty much on your own. They do have an answering service you can call and leave a message for an on call tech to call you, but I guarantee you it will not be in a timely manner, nor will the tech be happy or overly service oriented. After all, you have just had the gall to take away from his/her weekend or evening. Having said all the above, once you do get a hold of someone, they do get the problem resolved, usually in a timely manner. But if someone is looking for 24 hour support, this is not the company for you. read more

I signed up in June for service to start on August 4th, here it is August 18th and still no service complete, my 1st line is out of service as of this morning. Yep its coming we will take care of this. I have had multiple appointments and deadline dates of this is being taken care of, missed deadlines and no service. I will be willing to give them a try and see how their speed is on the internet and how the phone service is, but signing up for a three year contract is very dangerous with this company. I did insist on the right to cancel prior to the end of the contract due to all the problems in just getting service. I have lost revenue. Be wary with switching to this company. I would be willing to update this bad review once there is something good to say. In trying local it has been a disappointment thus far. read more

I attempted to get an internet connection with this company. After two weeks of waiting for it to get hooked up I finally got to try my new (faster) internet and found that not only was if far slower than advertised it was so slow I could not use sites like ebay or amazon. Luckily I had not cancelled my previous internet yet and was able to swap back. When I called 702 the offered no assistance at all, and claimed whatever was wrong must be on my end despite the fact that other ISP's work just fine with my routers and PC's. I returned the hardware the next day and wrote it off. Each month since I have received a bill demanding more and more money for my internet services. This month I received a collections notice claiming $515.94, despite the fact that no usable service was ever provided. I have called in and gone in person to the 702 office after each bill arrived. Each time I demanded to speak to a manager and was told that I would get a call back. I still have not received a call. read more

702 says 15 years and getting faster! Sounds great! I might get a simple download in 15 years. I have traveled the US and world Dial up in the 1980s was faster! With all the travel I have done I would get one if not one call a day from my sister asking me to help her with a problem. I helped her out of problem after problem. She would get so frustrated she would buy a new computer every year. I have been staying with her since January. I have now purchased two computers! And yet the new ones I had when I came were great when I came and were lightning speed get here I saw less buffering on dial up. It's my strong belief that everyone of her computers are good 702 should be forced to post warning we are not fast enough to do simple downloads updates upgrades suppose to be automatics please acknowledge this warning). For all those who have used there service they 702 should be purchase sing all new computers for ALL customers who got on their weak I mean the weakest service in the United States. NOT FAST ENOUGH to support a simple update. Download a picture can take a hour or more then I do have a recommendation buy every customer new computers!
