Haven Coffee Roasters - The view from the outside table with a medium Love Potion Hot Latte

Haven Coffee Roasters

Came here after just walking by after going to the weekend market. Recall a friend talking highly…read moreof it so me and my wife decided to try it out. We both got one of the seasonal caramel drinks (old man Marley?). I got the hot and she got the cold. The hot was decent, no real complaint but I'd go elsewhere honestly. My wife got the cold version and something about it was off, especially towards the bottom it had like a bologna or something taste. She told me to taste it without telling me what she thought but we both came to the same conclusion. No clue what it could've been but it was awful. Personally I'd go to a big brand store over this one again. Inside was pretty tight too, especially for those in a wheelchair or have a stroller.

Probably my favorite thing about this place is that they really committed to a theme. Seeing as it…read moreis the holidays, there was a very clear home alone theme from the drink names to the decorations inside which I really appreciated. The service was mid, as the barista seemed bored and not overly friendly. We tried to ask a question about the surrounding area and our barista acted like she didn't understand what we were asking, whatever. The coffee was good, although the roast was much brighter than my preference. The double chocolate chip muffin was delicious and not overly sweet overall, I would definitely come back and try it again! There is limited seating inside but also seating available outside street parking is limited so if you don't like dealing with that, this may not be the place for you.

Across from South Central Park and next to the Winter Haven Library resides Richard's Fine Coffees…read more For over 25 years Richard's Fine Coffee's has been supplying downtown Winter Haven with caffeinated beverages and food. David Tuttle opened Richard's Fine Coffee's on June 11, 1996. Upon realizing that there were no independent coffee house in Winter Haven, he wanted to bring residents and visitors a new coffee drinking experience. Richard's originally operated out of the Arcade Building before moving to the new Winter Haven Public Library when it opened its new building in 2005. In the ensuing years Richard's Fine Coffee's has become a cornerstone to the revitalization of downtown. One of the keys to Richard's longevity has been providing a place where people can meet, relax, and enjoy delicious coffee and bites. On the first Friday of every month they have a live music event. They serve a daily breakfast and lunch menu that includes hot and cold coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, soup, and pastries. I popped in for caffeinated refreshment during a recent trip to Winter Haven. I like how you can enjoy your drinks and food in their large dining room, on the patio, or across the street in beautiful South Central Park. Richard's has become more than a place where you can eat and drink. It is an important part of bringing the community together in downtown Winter Haven.

I ordered a regular coffee with cream. The better half ordered a Latte. We also ordered a blueberry crumb cake to split. There was quite a variety of wonderful looking pastries to choose from. The crumb cake was warmed up for us and brought to our table. The coffees were ready within 5 minutes. The coffees were delicious (yes, I sampled the latte), one of the better fresh coffees I've had. The crumb cake was also delicious. Staff was friendly and the interior design relaxing. We'll be back .

First time buying donuts at this establishment, in my never ending quest to find the perfect donuts…read moreshop within driving distance. 30 minutes is not necessarily close, but with traffic and all the traffic lights in this area it is par the course. So far Donut Palace has earned the local area 5 star rating for donuts. Albeit they don't have a plethora of donuts to choose from, there was enough variety to satisfy any lover of donuts. The posted hours are until noon (12pm for those who are unfamiliar with the word - lol jk I think) and I arrived a little after 11am. The donuts I purchased were all still very fresh (2 thumbs up). We really liked the donuts, which included lemon and raspberry filled powdered, apple fritter, cinnamon roll, and a couple of glazed. The powdered, which were for me, were NOT overly sweet and the dough was fresh and soft, almost melting in my mouth. The wife enjoyed her apple fritter, which was on the small size, and cinnamon roll. The glazed were not overpowering sweet, like a Krispy Kreme (no thanks). There really are not many donuts shops in the area, besides numerous Dunkins which I was never fond of, so if I find one that bests this place I will review it and downgrade this one a star, but for the moment it's 5 stars and we will return. BTW, the lady running the place was very nice.

Thats that me EXpresso! Hah, this unassuming store front in a strip mall boasts some buzz words…read moresuch as expresso (not espresso) on the windows. When you walk in, the place is quite empty. She has a few coolers to display her Cheesecake, but some a completely empty. Now the cheesecake does look good, but we came for the Coffee! We were in the area and found this. They have a variety of flavors to choose from and actually, she made a mean latte. I was quite impressed! I was a bit skeptical, due to how the placed looked on the inside but having a real espresso machine was a good 1st step. I had a vanilla latte which was delicious. Also the prices were fair, just over $5 for the latte. I wish i wasnt full and would have tried some cheesecake! Next time maybe...

New Place for us!…read more FAMILY COFFEE & DRINK ADVENTURE!!! Saw this place one night next to the Hibachi we always go to in Winter Haven, check out my review for Hibachi Express winter haven, Fl. Was super excited to bring my wife here the next day as it was her Birthday and she LOVES COFFEE!!! To keep it short It's a nice place, things are pricey, especially the Cheesecakes and it was just ok in comparison to other Winter Haven Coffee Hot spots - Haven anyone??? We were going to do coffee and cheesecakes for a Birthday Breakfast, but WOW, the cheesecakes were like 8 something a slice and they are small for the price. I don't care how good they are they are not a good Food to Value in my pockets opinion. We were there so we got drinks. 1 medium caramel macchiato for the Wife and it was very caramel sweet, not a good ratio in her opinion. We ordered a cappuccino, quad shot espresso, that I was charged for 2 espressos for instead of 1$ per extra shot like most other places. 2 Teas and it was over 30$. All the drinks could have been better. None of us really enjoyed them. Got the Fam some cake pops for 2.25 each everyone said they liked them. The service was good, only 1 kid working by themselves and it did take time for the drinks to be made. Luckily no one else was there so he was able to focus solely on our order. They were also out of a few different drinks the girls wanted first, so they had to choose a tea that was not really the best. My little one had the frozen hot cocoa and they enjoyed it. All in all we would most likely only stop back for coffee if we were in the area. It is a Sunday and we want coffee out, but not good enough to drive past our go to's for coffee on the other 6 days. Cheesecakes looked good, but for the price of 3 slices. I can buy a whole cheesecake and add my own toppings. AS ALWAYS, TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!
