Located just a few minutes past the HWY 211 turnoff, this convenience store has what most mid-sized convenience stores have, an abundance of adult beverage options, salty snacks, candy, self-serve soda machines (even a F'real machine), and some sundry items. The store seems decently maintained with no obvious neglect, and with serviceable restrooms. Gas will set you back a little more than places closer to Loop 1604 but the difference certainly isn't worth the drive.

Every time I pay for a car wash there's some malfunction mid car wash. This is the second time in 6…read moremonths that I've entered the bay, got a pre-rinse, and then nothing else happened. The scrubbers never scrubbed, the washers never washed, the sprayers never sprayed, but by god the air blower blowed like the dickens!! The gas station itself is great though. Except the whole "buy a car wash, get cheap gas" promotion. Don't waste your time on the car wash.

But this one in downtown San Antonio was the worst. When we were in El Paso, we had to wait 10 seconds to get a new bottle of creamer and the guy was so apologetic. He has his two free coffee coupons for the delay so every morning of this trip we've been excited about going to QT and having breakfast and coffee. But san Antonio was a complete disappointment. We had to wait 10 minutes to get some of the finally bring out creamer and the gentleman next to me another customer said wow she didn't have to have such an attitude. So I said OK good it's not just me. The app didn't work and a ton of employees standing around texting when myself another customers were looking for help. Only reason I gave it two stars instead of one it's because it was an inner city gas station, which I'm sure gives them a lot of problems. Two of their four coffee machines were down and many of their pull handle coffees were empty with just water coming out. Of the machines that were working, we had to let the staff know that they were out of coffee. Only one gentleman who is running a register seemed to be really trying out of the whole staff.

Worst Quik Trip that have ever been to and I have been to a lot of them in my travels. Place didn't…read morelook clean. No towels at the pumps for window wash stations. Men's room was a wreck. Men's room stank, floor was disgusting, paper towel dispensers were empty. There were plenty of used paper towels on the floor but none in dispensers. They did have the least expensive gas in that stretch of I-35 which is why I stopped. I'll stop at Love's just north of there next time. Quik Trips are usually kept up pretty good. They got a 2 stars just for the gas.

Perfect place for a CVS on the riverwalk. Easy access and good hours. There's another one close by that's even closer to the river that you can only get in by way of the Riverwalk. This CVS only has a streetside entrance. I don't know what the world record is for the smallest CVS pharmacy, but this is definitely one of the smaller ones out there, so you can imagine the lack of variety in their merchandise. It's mostly snacks inside, but you'll find a few other non-food items in the rear of the shop. However, it's not very well-maintained. I came in three times during my stay in San Antonio. One just to browse around, and two to purchase a snack. On my first trip, the store was empty, and I saw two employees working at the front. On my second trip, the store had a handful of customers, but I didn't recognize an employee until he went up to the front minutes later to service a customer. I was looking around for a small snack, but I was kind of disappointed in what they had. Not that I'm comparing this to the Buc-ee's in New Braunfels, but there are a handful of snacks I would remember at other CVS locations that I couldn't find here. So the small snack I was planning to get had to be a little larger than I expected, which meant spending a little more. I got a Cheetos popcorn, which was the last one they had in stock the evening I went. That was the only item I recall that I hadn't seen before at any CVS. There might have been others, but the Cheetos popcorn was the most noticeable to me. However, upon checkout, I noticed some milk cartons lying on a table, not inside a refrigerator. I touched them, and they weren't even cold at all! Such a small store, but nobody realized the milk that's going to go bad real soon or has gone bad already? And speaking of checkout, if not for the two self-checkout stands at the front of the store, you might be waiting a while for an employee to ring you up, especially if they are assisting other customers. I made another visit on my last week here, and I was the only customer in the store at the time. There were two employees, but neither greeted me or offered to help. I wanted to get an ice cream sandwich, but the price tags were missing on a lot of them! I had to use the coupon scanner to find out the price of them. So inefficient and annoying to have to run back and forth just to find out the prices. I used the self-checkout again because I didn't think the employees were in a mood to ring me up. My suspicion was confirmed when one of them simply glanced at me without a word as I walked out the door with zero intention to make a return visit. If you're looking to make a (hopefully) quick stop to pick up a snack, and you happen to be in the immediate vicinity, this CVS will at least be there to answer your call. Otherwise, I would recommend going to some other CVS, like the other one with the Riverwalk entrance.
