Visit Date: April 28, 2026…read more I came to Kookaburra before my endocrinologist appointment. It was in my LI Cafe Passport book. I've noticed some reviews say they are cash only, I paid in cash but I also saw some customers using debit cards. I got my dad a bag of coffee because I have Christmas money I had saved to take him out and we only went to Panera a few times so I've been buying him bags of coffee from the nice coffee shops. I got an iced cafe mocha with half and half. It was very good, creamy, chocolately and it gave a nice buzzzz. The coffee shop itself is very small, most of the space is dedicated to their coffee machines and food service. There is limited seating outside but it's not a place where they encourage you to stay and hang out after you get your coffee. It's still good though. It's more of a grab and go coffee spot. They also have no bathrooms but if you ask for a bathroom they will refer you to the train station or the cathedral near the coffee shop. I would recommend coming here for coffee it's really good but if you're looking to linger you can't.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. I paid $170 for a custom birthday cake, and the…read moreorder was taken directly by the store manager. We clearly agreed that the cake would match a reference photo, including specific colors and Spiderman eye decorations. The manager reviewed the image with me and allowed me to take a photo of her phone showing the exact design we agreed upon. When my husband arrived to pick up the cake--after the promised pickup time--the cake was brought out, but the manager quickly asked for it to be returned to the kitchen because it was not ready. At that point, it was clear the cake was also missing the agreed‑upon decorations. I spoke directly with the manager, who then denied ever agreeing to include the Spiderman eyes, despite having reviewed and approved the design earlier. Most concerning, my husband later observed the manager alter the photo on her phone, removing the decorations we had discussed. Additional requested decorations were also not put on the cake. It has now been weeks, and no one has followed up, despite being told the owner would contact me. For the price and the importance of the occasion, this level of disorganization, lack of accountability, and dishonesty is unacceptable. I expected professionalism, transparency, and follow‑through--and received none.

The space is warm and inviting. The menu offers all day brunch as well as some more lunch type items. They have a bunch of different lemonades, both the Arnold Palmer and blood orange versions were quite good. The Le Grand BLT may have been the most perfect BLT I've ever had. Wonderful grilled sourdough filled with Maple Pepper Bacon, Tomato, Mixed Greens, Garlic Aioli and Bacon Jam. It was a little sweet, a little savory and all around delicious. Served with house "chips", not potato chips but maybe fried wraps(?), I'm not sure but they were amazing and addictive. The FS Chicken Salad included Grapes, Apples, Cranberries, Celery, Red Onion, Tomatoes, Candied Walnuts, Mixed Greens on a Croissant was excellent and also served with the house chips. They were also accommodating for a nut allergy and were able to make it without the walnuts. It was reythe perfect spot to grab lunch and I'd go back any time.

It's the kind of smell that instantly tells you you're about to have a great day. Our afternoon tea experience started with chilled water and refreshing peach iced tea being brought to the table when we were seated. Then the food started arriving, with our first pot of Darjeeling tea. Fresh baked orange cranberry scones were buttery, and tender with bright citrus flavor and bursts of sweet tart cranberry. Slathered with their homemade Devonshire cream and fruit preserves, every bite was rich, silky, and absolutely heavenly. The mixed berry salad cups were fresh and vibrant, combining crisp mixed greens with juicy strawberries, plump blueberries, perfectly roasted lemon pepper chicken, and a sweet, tangy fig balsamic dressing that tied every flavor together beautifully. The mini feta arugula quiche had a flaky, buttery crust filled with creamy egg custard, salty feta, and peppery arugula for the perfect savory bite. Dessert was every sweet tooth's dream. The chocolate ganache thumbprints were rich, fudgy, and decadent, while the crumb cake was incredibly soft with a thick buttery cinnamon crumble that tasted just like it came out of Grandma's oven. To end the experience, we were offered a second pot of tea and chose the Red Velvet Tea, a smooth, subtly cocoa blend with hints of raspberry that paired perfectly with dessert. For just $39, this afternoon tea feels like one of Long Island's hidden gems. Whether you're celebrating, catching up with friends, or simply looking for a cozy afternoon escape, this is an experience that's worth slowing down for.

THE GLOWS: There is stable wifi and it's free. Their coffee is outstanding. The first time I went there, I ordered an iced latte with coconut milk and added pistachio flavoring. When the young person handed me my order, she asked me to try it first to make sure I liked how it came out. It was perfect! Each time I've been there, I've had a different version of iced coffee, with the pistachio being my favorite. They will customize your drink any way you want. Another thing I noticed is how they have a wooden playset of a barista station in the corner for young children. How nice is that? The owners really take into account the young single person as well as families who patronize their business. Great move, Grami!
