Customer service usually hold it for me until I can pick it up. Their Pharmacy team is amazing from pharmacist assistant manager, Miss Theresa Theresa, pharmacist manager, Mr. Sesay, Miss Melody, Pharmacy staffer Miss Sade, Pharmacy staffer. The ambience of this store is amazing. I love the fact that everyone is so friendly even if you walk in the Giant and don't know anyone they are all here to help. They even donate their food to any of the homeless who are in need of food that come in the store and sometimes can solicit customers for a dollar or something. Usually one of the Customer Service people will take that homeless person over to the side and bring them a hot meal and or allow them to get maybe three items that they need and that Giant Stafford will pay for it so that they can have something to drink and something to eat. I think that that is beautiful. This Giant is completely is completely about kindness, compassion, and Community. This is my favorite giant food store and I love the fact that they're always supporting some charity Saint Jude American Heart Association feed the Hungary donating to their local food pantries helping kids with school supplies. I love that they have a raffle every school year beginning of the school year. I have one maybe 3 raffles and I donated all of the materials back to the Giant because I no longer have a child who's in school he's now at university so when one year one a basket full of school supplies which I donate it right back to the Giant the following year I want Thanksgiving all turkey Thanksgiving box dinner which I donated it back to the Giant because I didn't need it and then one raffle I won tickets to see the Orioles play baseball and I donated those tickets back to the Giant and they could give them to whomever they want. I told them the 251st person that walked through the store could have those tickets and they did that and I am assuming that they enjoyed themselves at the game. I don't know. I did not go. Food Lion has some good deals on shelf stable or what I often call pantry items. My sister always notes how good their baking aisle is. The produce section is awful and I am still haunted by their unsanitary and unsafe meat practices from the early 1990s so I still skip meat and poultry at Food Lion. The store is dated but they did recently start a renovation to make the spacing within aisles wider. It doesn't seem to be a very busy store which makes it easy to get in and get out of. The employees are generally friendly.

So when Costco came out proclaiming that they were going to keep their DEI practices in place, Jeremy and I got our own membership. DEI represents groups that are historically underrepresented or marginalized, including those based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, national origin, and veteran status. So, to me, any corporation who wants to be against looking out for any of those people can suck it. We usually shop at the Costco on Pulaski Highway in Baltimore County, but we were trying to fill some time before an appointment and decided to tuck in here to get a super cool Lego Japanese maple tree set for a friend for xmas. I like that if I find a product at one Costco it's probably going to be available at all Costcos. And while we weren't there for groceries, I also like buying my meats at Costco. We can make those big packages stretch for months sometimes and there's something comforting about knowing you have something for dinner for a while and don't have to give a lot of thought to it. I do recommend breaking down your meat into appropriate serving sizes before you freeze them. You can get one of those vacuum sealers to keep things from getting freezer burn, but a plastic zip bag will do in a pinch. One of the bad things about Costco is that they don't accept all forms of payment. They'll accept food stamps (they sell milk) but some credit cards won't be accepted. Also, because there's a membership fee (I think its like $50-60), Costco isn't an option for everybody, and I don't really like that kind of elitist nonsense. I feel like the people who can't afford the membership would be the type of people who would benefit the most from buying in bulk to save money. I like Costco.
